Libraries and Misbehaving Dragons
Keeta puttered around the kids section of the library with Camille and Joel. It was about half an hour until story time and Keeta was helping her children pick out some books to read to them at home, particularly since she had packed up most of their books at home.
Only a few more days until she moved. Her heart fluttered when she thought about it. It was the last big step before she and Rhine tied the knot.

Joel was looking through all the books about planes, cars and trucks, like many boys his age. In this regard he was the stereotypical boy and loved playing with all forms of transportation, be it a boat, car, plane or train. He wasn't exactly delicate as he plowed through the books, leaving the discarded ones on the floor.

Keeta tried to keep up with him and protect the books, but it wasn't the easiest thing to do. Joel finally settled on one and plopped down on the floor. He flipped through the pages, looking at the pictures.

Camille was more interested in the Disney princess books and the books with pictures of animals and flowers. She was more cautious, treating the books gently and putting away the ones she wasn't interested in. She finally picked a book with a picture of a girl and a cat on the cover.

Smiling, she carried it over to one of the child-sized tables and started to turn the pages. Every so often she would point to a letter and proudly proclaim it's name. Keeta had been teaching her a few letters. So far, she solidly knew about five.

Pushing his hair out of his eyes the male scanned the shelves, he wanted to get another book about running one's own business to read... The book seemed to be like... missing. Surion looks up suddenly when the weight from his one shoulder lessened suddenly, Senti had gotten bored, Kuyl was still being good but the more playful of the two... he was harder to keep still... And the small dragon was more interested in exploring, and thus he bolted across the room and around the corner... into the children's area sensing more people

Joel, having had his 'pair' of eyes on the book, and the third center eye roving the room was the first to notice the small dragon. Quickly the other two eyes joined the first and he grinned."It fly!" He giggled and pointed, kicking his legs in excitement. He didn't know what it was, but it flew like the planes he liked so much, so it was instantly cool in Joel's opinion.

Keeta looked up as soon as Joel spoke and ducked out of instinct. She let a slight cry of alarm, along with a few other mothers who had congregated in the area. Was that a dragon?!

"What the...."

Camille didn't look up until she heard the uncertainty in her mother's tone. Her eyes grew wide and she ran over to Keeta, wrapping herself around her mother's legs, using her as 'shield' against the UFO.

Surion let our a sigh of exasperation as he his hand dropped from the shelf and he muttered under his breath to the red dragonette which was still atop his opposite shoulder that had been vacated. "Least you behave Kuyl". The male turned on his heal, his black cloak billowed around him as he headed towards the direction Senti had gone 'get your butt back here' he told the misbehaving dragonette in his head.

Senti paid little to no attention to this at all... Small people!!! This was far more interesting then books... He loved playing with Natalia, maybe these little people would be just as fun!!! He lands lightly atop the lap of the giggling boy standing on his hind paws chittering like a crazy thing to the boy.

"Hihi!" Joel said to the creature, pleased it had come to him. He giggled all the more and was about to pet the miniature dragon, when Keeta approached, drawing his attention.

Keeta had made her way over surprisingly quickly with Camille wrapped around her like she was. While this little dragon made keeta nervous, she was not about to let it do something to her fearless son.
Sometimes she wished Joel was more skiddish, like Camille. It would mean he might not get himself into as many pickles. She waved he hands at the dragon, hoping it would frighten it off. Keeta didn't know if this thing was dangerous or friendly, and Joel was not about to be the test subject.

Senti looked up at the woman like she was insane or something, he made no effort whatsoever to move, he'd seen far more 'frightening' things in his lifetime. His head tips at her chittering and bouncing playfully on the lap he was atop.

"Senti where the heck did you go" Surion goes from one room to the next of the library before entering the children's area, his cloak billowed with his movements. His long dark blue and silver streaked hair was again 1/2 covering his face, only half of his face visible, the side with the lip-ring showing. His wings were not visible, but his horns, sharp teeth and tail were visible, he wore hisnormal black pants with the belts around the legs which he usually wore, plus a white tank and red silk button down shirt (which was open).

He was soon in the line of site of the group in the children's library but had stopped moving and was looking around.

"Shoo!" Keeta said, continuing to try and get the dragon off her son. She didn't want to resort to touching it, but if it didn't get off soon, she would make an attempt to physically remove it.

"Get off him! Shoo!" she repeated, trying not to look as nervous as she felt. Keeta was so absorbed with the small dragon, that she failed to notice Surion's entrance.

Joel, however, was thoroughly amused by the sight of his mother trying to remove this creature. He didn't understand that she was afraid for him, rather thinking she was just playing a game. He was having a ball!

Camille scooted away, when she realized Keeta had actually brought her *closer* to the creature. Her mommy was not managing to get rid of it either.
The small girl looked around, as if seeking help from another source, and her eyes found the man who had just entered the children's library area. At first, his imposing appearance made her afraid, but as she looked longer, she realized he looked familiar. Tentatively, she approached him (but not too close).

"Frog man?" she asked, not knowing his name, but thinking of the gift he had given her at the pool

Surion looked towards the voices he could only guess when he heard the shooing what was going on, and this theory proved correct when he saw what exactly it was the female was trying to shoo... Then he recognized the shooer and smiled turning and heading in that direction. He paused briefly hearing the child's voice "Well I suppose you could say that, but... Surion fits better" he winks and pauses near her.

Senti looks towards Surion, he still hasn't moved despite this woman's attempts and starts chittering once more. The sounds of the chittering could almost pass as a child very excited.

Camille smiled, glad this big man was the person she remembered and not someone new and scary. She noticed the other dragonette on his shoulder and pointed from it to the one seated on Joel.

"Sur-on help mommy?" she asked, not quite getting his name right, but at least she tried. Her mommy definitely needed help.

Keeta looked at Senti, exasperated. Why wouldn't it move? She was about to try and pick up the creature when she noticed it's attention drawn elsewhere. Instinctively, she turned to look at what Senti was noticing, hoping as she did so that turning away wasn't a stupid mistake. She was relieved to see Surion there. True, they hardly knew one another, but recognized him. Noticing Kuyl, she spoke.

"Is this yours?" There was hope in her voice. If it belonged to Surion, surely it couldn't be dangerous. Plus, there would be someone else to take care of dragon removal.

Joel, taking advantage of Keeta's distraction, grabbed Senti's tail, laughing at the dragonette's chittering.

"Don't worry" he says to the girl before moving past. "That it would, that it would" he was scolding the dragonette in his mind and it pouted.... least till Joel took Senti's tail at which time it did an about face looking directly to Joel and started chittering happily. "He wont hurt your son... but he definitely needs to behave that's for certain"

Surion approaches the trio debating if he should try and extract the dragonette from Joel's grasp or let the dragonette learn the hard way

Joel grinned wide at the Senti's reaction and grabbed the tail with both hands now, tugging on it. This creature was harder to pull on than that Bunkichi at home! It was more of a challenge. Joel was always interested in meeting and overcoming a challenge.

Keeta frowned at Joel, shaking her head. She couldn't believe he was encouraging the dragonette. Sighing she looked back at Surion.
"I'm glad to hear it's not dangerous. It's a miniature dragon?" she asked for the sake of getting her mind in the correct position to deal with this obstacle.

"Sorry for the rude greeting," she said, blushing slightly with shame.

"I was just worried about Joel. I didn't know what it was and whether it would hurt him. Not that it seemed to bother *him* much."

Camille followed behind Surion, now using him as the shield between herself and the chittering dragonette. Even if it wasn't dangerous like she'd hear her mommy and 'Sur-on' say, she didn't want to get too close.

A momententary look of shock registered on Senti's face at the pull on his tail, though the look didn't last long as Senti began this new game... It was much different then the games he played with Nat, in fact it was more like a play-fight or tug-of-war as his attention didn't waver.

Kuyl by now had sat up and then hopped lightly off Surion's shoulder, the red dragonette gliding to land lightly on the top of a low bookshelf where he sat and observed.

"It's a dragonette" Surion nods "It's bonded to me, it helps me preserve extra energy for times of need, sometimes it just stays in it's natural form atop my spear as it was made by Eirnae years ago." Surion tried to explain as he gave his attention to Keeta now that he'd at least located the misbehaving dragon. "And don't worry I understand, Senti seems to like kids or 'little people' as he calls them. He plays with Natalia when I'm visiting them"

Joel giggled. This was MUCH more fun than playing with the Bunkichi. He wiggled so his legs were no longer under the dragonette, trying to get better leverage as he tugged again.

Camille watched as Kuyl alighted from Surion's shoulder gripping the edge of his cloak, ready to dive underneath it if need be. She relaxed when she saw the small dragon land on a bookshelf a ways away.
"Ah, I see." Keeta wasn't sure she understood the mechanics of how they were bonded to Surion or how they preserved energy, but she got the basic idea, which is all that was needed. When she saw how Joel was tugging on Senti's tail she scolded him.

"Joel! Leave him alone! You'll hurt him. He's not a toy!" Keeta didn't really believe Joel would, or could, hurt Senti, but she didn't want him to think it was ok to just start pulling on random creatures. Probability dictated that eventually one of the creatures he pulled on would not appreciate it, and would retaliate. Joel needed to learn this lesson sooner rather than later.

Surion looks down feeling the grip on his cloak and smiles "one sec" he says to Keeta and then crouches for a moment beside Camille "His name is Kuyl" he tells her though it sounded much more like he had said 'cool' as he motioned the red dragonette calmly sitting on the shelf, he pauses and thinks for a moment "want to feel something funny?" he asks her.

Senti looked up at the sudden scolding he heard from Keeta, and in this movement Joel 'won' the battle as the dragonette lost his footing and landed squarely on his butt. It sat there a moment and blinked in surprise then toppled back onto his back chittering away once more even more excited and loudly declaring in Surion's mind it was a fun and good fight

"Cool? Something funny?" Camille repeated, saying it like she heard it, looking from Surion to the dragonette. She looks back at Surion searchingly, as if trying to decide whether or not to trust him. She recognized the fact that to 'feel' something would require participation on her part. She wasn't sure about that.

"Feel what?"

Joel disregarded his mother. He was having far too much fun! When Senti 'lost' and landed on his bottom, Joel let go of the tail because he was laughing so hard. His gleeful laughter started drawing stares from the others in the area who were waiting for story time.

Keeta looked at them sheepishly, making a vain attempt to quiet him. She hoped the librarian wouldn't feel the need to come over.

Surion gave Camille a gentle reassuring smile "Well it might tickle a little, but I promise it's not bad... What you need to do is stand very still and put your hand like this" he tells her and holds a hand out just a bit, palm side up in front of him, never once leaving the same height as the child.

Senti stopped making noise though laying still exactly where he was, his little chest heeving up
and down as if he was catching his breath. His head looks to Keeta and then back to Joel an obvious grin on his little maw

Kuyl on the other hand stopped watching the room and just watched Surion with this small person he didnt know.

Camille stands there silent for a moment, before slowly and nervously nodding her head. She carefully modeled his pose, eyes wide with anticipation of what he was going to do.

Keeta raised an eyebrow at Senti's pleased expression, as if silently reprimanding him, as she crouched down next to Joel. She put an arm around him, pulling the small boy into her lap, trying to calm him.

At first Joel fought her, not wanting to give up his fun, but when Keeta told him they would have to miss out on story time if he didn't quiet down, he soon lowered his volume. Joel really enjoyed coming to story time and wanted to see the pictures in the books. None of his pleasure diminished, however and his grin matched Senti's.

He smiles and reaches to Kuyl, hand out palm down, the dragonette stands and hops onto Surion's hand which Surion then brings back towards the pair of them, but not too fast. Surion stops his hand shortly before the child's hand and the dragonette looks at her.

Kuyl's little eyes watch her for a short time before he leans forward, first sniffing at Camille's hand before licking it, in his own way judging if this little person was a threat to Surion at all. It didn't take Kuyl long to decide the child was not a threat and he stepped one paw onto her hand and stopped, looking up at her and then licking the tip of her nose before stepping back onto Surion's hand looking slightly bored.

Senti flips over onto his paws once more when the laughter quiets, and he moves into the pair's lap sitting there with tail wrapped around himself looking up at Joel then at Keeta, that grin never leaving his face

Camille hesitated in her stance as Surion brought Kuyl closer, but the 'frog man's' promise kept her there, albeit nervously. She flinched when Kuyl licked her hand, not knowing what to expect,. After a short moment she allowed a small smile to appear on her face and a quiet giggle passed her lips. It *did* tickle!

She gasped and froze, however, when the dragonette stepped onto her hand and licked her nose. Surion hadn't told her it would do that! Her breathing grew more rapid as she tried to be brave and she barely blinked, her eyes crossing as they watched Kuyl's face come close to her own. As soon as it had started it was over, however, and Kuyl's weight was fully back on Surion's hand. Camille didn't speak, she just stood there, still frozen.

Joel couldn't have been happier to have Senti sit beside him in Keeta's lap. Grinning, he wrapped his arms around the dragonette's neck in a hug.

"Shh...we have to be qwiet," he said, as if hoping that would appease Keeta and his new friend would get to stay.

Keeta gasped and then frowned when Senti joined Joel in her lap. She had not invited the dragonette to share the space, but apparently he didn't seem to think one was needed. Sighing, she relented, especially when she saw Joel's excited expression, and couldn't help but inwardly chuckle at the small boy's attempt to get the creature to follow the 'rules.'

Surion lowers his hand and the red dragonette hops off lazily sauntering off in the direction of his more hyper jaguar patterned companion leaving Surion and Camille standing/crouching where they were. "He likes you, and I don't blame him you are a nice girl" Surion addresses Camille softly, turning his attention back to the child

Senti nods his head a bunch of times as if he knew exactly what the child wanted and lifts his front paws to his maw as if to say 'my mouth is shut'

Kuyl stops beside Keeta and looks directly up at her

"That was scary when he stepped on me," Camille said quietly, frowning, willing to express herself now that Kuyl was a safe distance away. She smiled though when Surion said the dragonette liked her. It was good to be liked, but she still felt slightly betrayed, not having expected Kuyl to step on her.

Keeta raised an eyebrow as the other dragonette joined them. There wasn't more room in her lap and she wasn't about to try and accomodate him. It was bad enough already having Senti there.

Joel, always happy to make more friends waved at the small, red dragon. He smiled at Senti happy that he was ok with being quiet for story time.

Oh a lap wasnt needed though Kuyl's expression changed to one of jealousy when he looked at Senti who in turn stuck his thin tongue out

Surion nods listening to Camille "Did his tongue tickle? When he licked your nose he was giving you a little kiss" Surion grins slightly, though knowing soon Camille would likely want to join the other children, he'd seen the sign on the way in about 'story time'

Keeta frowned at the dragonettes. If she didn't know better she'd say they were acting like two small children! She sighed with relief when she saw the reader heading over to the story rug with a book in hand. Perhaps the distraction of the story would calm the smallish reptiles.

Camille noded in response to Surion's question. It had tickled. She opened her eyes wide when he mentioned the kiss however. Her expression turned to one of slightly disgusted amusement. Kissing except from mommies had started to become 'gross' to her, as it did for many children of almost school age. She wrinkled her nose slightly, but still smiled.

"I got a dragon kiss?"

The dragonettes didnt stop least not for a couple minutes. They both were sticking their tongues out at each other.

Surion smiles and nods "Yup" he glances up at the librarian passes "I think it's story time Camille" he motions to change the child focus from the dragonettes.

Keeta snapped her fingers in front of Senti and Kuyl's faces, hoping to move their focus elsewhere.

Stop it!" she hissed at them, not wanting to be seen as the responsible figure for these creatures.

Joel, however, thought it was great fun, and started immitating his two new friends. This, of course, caused Keeta to scold him as well.

Camille followed Surion's gaze and noticed the storyteller seating herself, just as Surion had indicated. She smiled at him, before going and seating herself next to her mother.

The reader smiled and chatted quietly with a few of the children and parents, while she waited for the last few minutes to roll around and allowing any stragglers to arrive.

Surion watched her get settled and then walks over to where his 2 dragonettes were seated, they'd both looked up at Keeta and were slightly glaring.... only for a second before going right back to what they had been doing. "I think it looks like you need a rescuing Keeta" he muses aloud

"Yes, please if you don't mind," she said gratefully. "I can't get them to stop. And Joel's trying to join in...." She frowned at the little boy as he once again stuck out his tongue like his new reptilian friends.

He shakes his head, typical... "Senti, Kuyl... Up" he says rather abuptly which in turn drew both dragon's attention immediately. He didnt even bother leaning down, both used their little claws to scrambled up to his shoulders.

"Thank you" Keeta mouthed, not wanting to speak aloud as the librarian had started to try to draw the children's attention for the story.

Joel had been about to protest, but much like Senti and Kuyl, his attention had been abruptly redirected by the reader's introduction of the story. From the picture, it looked like it would be about a kite. Joel liked kites.

"No problem" Surion mouthed back as Senti's long thin tail wrapped around his upper arm and the dragonette sulked looking down at the boy he'd grown fond of. "I should probably let you focus on this, as not to interupt the librarian" he continues quietly to Keeta.

"You can stay and listen to the story if you want," she responded with a whispered chuckle, watching the librarian out of the corner of her eye. So far their low conversation didn't seem to be upsetting the woman.

Joel and Camille's eyes were glued to the book, oblivious to the quiet conversation going on behind them.

"They'll want back down if I stay too long, sides I havent found m book yet.... I wound up chasing this one as is" he motions the sulking dragonette

"Alright, I'll leave you too it then. It was nice to see you. I hope you find your book," she said with a smile, giving him a small wave.

"Thanks, if ya wanna get away from kids for a bit one eve, feel free to drop by the club" he pulls a card out of his pouch and writes on the back 'no cover' with his initials and hands it to her

"Thanks," she says with a smile, grimacing slightly, as she heard a little 'eh-ehm' from the reader, who was looking over the tops of her glasses at Keeta and Surion. She gave the woman an apologetic smile, before turning back to Surion and waving her thanks.

Surion nods and stuffs his hands in his pockets as he turns and walks away heading back to where he'd come from scolding Senti the whole way through their telepathic link

GypsyGrl ~ Part 1
A cup of juice, a drippy steak and Surion was settled at his desk, someone had pushed him to move on.. He knew who that someone was, hell he was considered to be part of their family now. And now he had to think about how to go about doing it. Surion had relied on the fact he had known Nani so well and for so long that when they had first started dating it seemed simple, that it all simply fell into place, that there didnt really seem to be any work to it. But thinking back upon it Surion realized if she had been anyone else, he'd be stuck. And now without a father to turn to for advice, not that he thought the advice he'd get would be of much use in this, he felt he needed to turn to another source of information.

The little glitchen's drives spun up with a soft whir, he let it boot while he ate some of his food, and before too long Surion was surfing the web for sites that dealt with advice for dating. He read many sites, agreed with some info he found, disagreed with others. "I wonder" he mumbles to himself as he changes his search perameters to 'dating in gaia'. He waited for the results and the first on the list made him click it immediately GaiaDate.net. But what he found wasn't what he expected to find, 'dating and matchmaking' the header of the page said. It even wanted him to create an account before he could go further, he did this filling in some basic info but leaving most blank as he didnt know what this site was.

An hour later however the male was staring at the screen intently, a notepad beside him with a half dozen profile names written down when he clicked the next one 'gypsygrl'. He read it, and as he read it he sat up more in his seat....

GypsyGrl ~ Part 2
The next day was busy in the earlier day for Surion, Thursdays usually were, after all it was stock day. At 4pm he was actually standing atop the well-lit platform talking to his DJ about the newest music that had arrived.

It was hard tell whether Nadya was more excited or nervous. She didn't want to blow this chance. She'd eaten a light lunch, to keep the nausia from her nerves at bay, and consequently was extremely hungy by the time 4pm rolled around.

She was running a tad late thanks to her inability to decide on a perfect first date outfit. She'd finally settled on an outfit that said "Take me, I'm yours ... for the right price." Wether that was her intended message or not was unknown.

Her long teal hair was tied up in a ponytail to keep the loose strands free from her face. She'd never been in a club outside of business hours, so she wasn't quite sure what to expect. But she had high hopes. She parked her car out front in the empty lot and headed in, making sure to take deep breaths to keep herself calm.

She entered the club, slightly in awe to see things in the light. It was quite different. She spotted Surion up on the stage immediately and waved to him.

Surion heard the door open and he turned his head, his long bangs as usual obscuring his face, he motioned a 'one moment' and turned to Rose once more, his voice was muffled a bit but carried as the accoustics of the place were awesome even without the music thumping from the speakers.

'Kay Boss' Rose replies and Surion walks away from her and he hops off the platform and walks over. "Hi" he greets her as he approaches her.

Noone in the club even gave the pair a second glance, the barkeep was behind her counter putting away tall luminescent bottles of alcohol onto their shelves. The techs were doing their daily equipment checks to make sure the screens and projectors and everything else was doing what it was supposed to.

Nadya was a little overwhelmed by the atmosphere, but tried her best to remain cool and collected. That is, until one of them called Surion 'boss' She nearly fainted. Not because he could have been wealthy or a well known, but because he was just the type of connection she needed to boost her career.

"Hi .. Surion." she hesitated saying his name, hoping she pronounced it properly. "So this is your club?" She extended her right hand out towards him in greeting.

Surion pushes his long bangs out of his face and over his pointed ear with his left hand revealing both of his piercing blue eyes as he smiles and nods taking her hand with his right "Hi Nadya, Yeah, Rhythmos is mine, my partner helps me manage it." his expression was welcoming as he looked her up and down, and was instantly glad he'd taken all precautions and taken his potions that morning.

Nadya's nerves were comforted slightly when she noticed him checking her out. That caused a slight power shift in her mind and she relaxed considerably. The faerie's subtle glow shifted to a softer tone as her skin took slightly orange hues as the nervousness faded to let the excitement remain as the dominent emotion.

"That's so cool that you own the place! I bet you get so many girls and have an exciting life." She gave a wink and reached out, brushing his arm slightly. "So, do a get a tour?" she asked, hopeful, smiling at Surion.

Surion blushed a little at the compliment "No actually, havent had time to..." ok it was a white lie, but she didnt need to know that he'd finally gotten over a lost relationship with a girl, a failed relationship which he'd caused inadvertantly when Drag had pulled him and his mother to Faerun.

He looks around a moment then nods "Sure... This room is pretty obvious, you said you've been here before so you've been all around the first floor I'd imagine. Rose is prepping the new music for the night..." he motions the dj up on the platform. "Sylvia is putting away her new stock..." he motions the bar and the finned woman behind it "Elessar and Amroth are up in the meeting room going over some stuff" he motions the door at the top of a spiral staircase

"I guess the only areas that are harder to show are upstairs.... What kinda drink would you like? Then we can go upstairs and get to know who each other is more" he asks

Nayda followed, taking in the sight of the club in the light. It was really fascinating. "Have you ever done live performances here, or just used the DJ?"

She nodded and smiled to each person Surion pointed out to her, mentally noting each ones name in hopes of working with them soon, too.

She giggled lightly when Surion asked her what kind of drink she'd like. She was eager to get upstairs and get to know him. "Hmm, I think just an ice tea would work for me." She didn't want to start drinking liquor quite yet, least not on an empty stomach.

Surion shakes his head "Nah, Rose is fantastic at what she does, not to mention this place isn't designed for live preformances." He walks over to the counter reaching behind it and mixing up that drink for her and just grabing himself a cooler. He hands her the iced tea and leads her all the way across the floor to the opposite side and into the elevator.

The elevator rose to the 3rd floor where it opened into a short hall and he motioned her to follow as he entered the right hand door and moved across the office, but didnt stop at the desk but was aiming for a closed door beyond it.

Nadya was slightly disappointed, but did not show it, and did not let this little setback stop the gears in her head. She followed along Surion and would glance at him from the corner of her eyes every now and then and give him a lil grin.

"Is this your office?"

"This part is yeah, but I dont intend to chat with you in this room... we're going back here" he pushed open the door revealing an apartment beyond. The place was well furnished, not overly lavish, but comfortable. He shed the button down black shirt he wore and tossed it on the back of a chair, under it he had on one of his mesh tank tops he used for work and it did nothing to hide how well built he was, nor did it hide his multitude of scars over his chest, back or arms.

"Come in, make yourself at home" he tells her motioning one of the plush armchairs in the room.

Dayum!
Nadya watched Surion move, impressed at his physique. He had that dangerous look to him with the scars and his stomach ... well, never before had Nadya had the urge to wash clothes like she did now.

As she strolled over to one of the chairs, 2 things crossed Nadya's mind. Why was a guy that hot and successful looking for dates online, and second... did that mean he was gay? Nadya decided to test for this herself.

"So Surion, is this where you live?" She sat down slowly, crossing one knee of the other allowing her skirt to slide up a little. A move she'd used often in the past when she needed to subtly show a lil more leg.

"No, I dont live here, this is for days when I'm too tired to ride my harley home. Nights Portal used to have a place upstairs for all it's staff for the same purpose, I used to take my ex-fiancee there... for other reasons." His eyes strayed to the exposed skin for a moment as he watched her. After a moment he decided he didnt want interuptions and headed for the door to shut it.

Nadya smirked. Wow, this guy was a dream come true; he rode a Harley as well. Definately not letting this one get away. Her eyes stayed on him as he crossed the room. The minor detail that she'd just met him did not once enter her mind nor concern her. She had goals and set her sights on her target already and nothing would stop her. "So Surion, tell me a lil about yourself. What kinds of things do you like?"

Surion glances out the door and then turns to her "I think I've told a lot about me... I think it's your turn......................" and with that he shut the door the lock clicking so they were not interupted by his staff members..............

GypsyGrl ~ The Finalle
Since her boyfriend was working that day, Nadya had decided to pamper herself a little bit with an excursion to one of her favorite places; the mall. She was in the market for some new lingerie, hoping maybe Surion would like it. She was planning a little romantic outting for his next day off.

The draconic male entered the far end of the mall, he was headed for the cd store, he had an order in that he'd placed the week before. He wasn't aiming to run into anyone, it was just another day for him. The past month or so had been good, he certainly hadn't anything to complain about.

Nadya was jammin' to some music on her mp3 player as she searched through the racks in the lingerie store. It took her some time to find the perfect piece. Confident that would be the key to seducing her new boyfriend, she headed out of the store to do a little window shopping and perhaps pick up some new toys for herself. She headed out towards the beauty store, passing by the CD store, but not even noticing that her beau was there.

Just outside the beauty shop, which was about 3 doors down from the cd store, a strange man approached Nadya and started following her. He watched her in the beauty shop and when she left to walk further down the mall, he remained only a few yards behind her, watching her every move.

Surion paid for the order he had and stepped out of the CD store just barely missing her pass by, he looks at the package making sure it was what he wanted. But then stops, a small smile playing at his lips as he picked up the familiar scent of Nadya. He looks up then to one side spotting her, he moves to follow her intending to sneak up on her and surprise her.

Nadya stopped outside the window of the clothing boutique she usually shops at, admiring the new line they've recently got in. She's unable to afford still, so whenever she's at the mall, she stops in to say hello to her future outfits.

Behind her, the tall man that was covered in tattoos that had been discreetly following her stopped just outside of range for her to see his reflection on the glass. He chuckled to himself when he spotted the ear buds to her mp3 player and decided to 'surprise' her.

With lightning fast reflexes, he moved behind her, wrapping his arms around her, allowing for his hands to grab her boobs.

To say that Nadya was shocked was an understatement. She screamed, not knowing who'd just assaulted her, and when she turned around and seen who it was, she swung her big purse around to smack him on the side of the head while scolding him.

Surion stops abruptly, he was still a good 20 feet away, and now he was growling. How dare this guy, 'good for you Nadya' he thought to himself seeing her swing the purse. He was admiring her take care of herself, defending herself....

"Damnit you a**!" she repeated as she tried to straighten herself up and pull her top back up as the stranger had managed to move it down lower than was comfortable for public. "Not here." she whispered, very angry.

The man was chuckling the whole time, being grabby with her while she stood there insulting him. She swat his hands away while scolding, and each time, he'd just try to grope her even more. "C'mon Nady-baby, you know you like it."

That was enough to set Surion off, the male pushed the CDs into one of the pockets of his loose pants as he started to storm towards the pair. He stops to one side of the male pulling hard on the guy's shoulder, being a hunter Surion was well built "I believe the lady is trying to get you to stop" he growls

Nadya about shat bricks when she seen Surion there. Her eyes were huge, but only for a moment. In her mind, the only sound she heard was 'ohno.ohno.ohno...' repeating over and over again. Thinking quickly, she jumps behind Surion. "Surion, thank God you showed up! This .. this guy was assaulting me." she tried to sound pathetic and pitiful; like a victim.

The man just stopped and laughed when Nadya started playing helpless maiden. "Oh brother." he muttered while shaking his head. He stepped away from Surion and turned to face him, eyeing the draconic up and down with a smug expression. "So this is the new guy, huh?"

Surion's eyes narrow at the male as he heard her claim to his assault. He'd let one male hurt someone in the past, he wasnt about to let it happen again. "New guy huh, thats presuming you know Nadya... So what if I am, would make you the old guy... Which means she isn't yours and you have no right to assault her" His voice was harsh and protective as he spoke standing between them.

The guy just laughed. Very loud and mocking Surion with the tone. "Old guy, next guy, current guy, whatever, call me what you want." He looked to Nadya and winked.

Nadya looked horrified. "I have never seen this guy before in my life!" she pleaded, giving the man a glare of death.

At this time, the trio had drawn quite a bit of attention and mall security had arrived, requesting them to leave.

Surion looked to Nadya missing the glare, he was more focused to the male's words "Lets take it outside shall we?" he growls right after security requested they head out

The man reached for Nadya's left hand as they moved to leave the mall, but Nadya jerked it away as soon as he touched her. She was uttering every curse under the sun at this man.

The man seemed overly amused at the whole situation, all things considered.

Once outside, he reached for Nadya's hand once more and this time wouldn't let her retract it. "Nadya, let's go home." His amusement was suddenly gone with that last statement.

"Let's see you assault her, she doesn't know you... and you expect her to go with you.. I think not!" Surion moved to deck the guy hard. His muscles flexing as he did

Surion's fist did in fact connect with the guy's jaw. He was knocked right to the ground so fast he didn't even see it coming.

"Bonez!" Nadya cried out as she left Surion's side to see if the man was okay.

The man, apparently named Bonez, sat up a bit and rubbed his jaw. His mouth was bleeding from the corner and he looked pissed. "You sunuva...."

Surion didn't even catch the name right away, he was raging mad, his attention was focused on the tattooed male, though he moved to stop Nadya's movement figuring she'd been pulled with the male's grip. He was poised to attack again. Kuyl on his left shoulder was hissing something fierce, Senti was as well alert

"Surion stop!" Nadya shouted at him as he pulled her away from Bonez.

Bonez rose up to his feet, keeping a safe distance from Surion's fists. He looked pissed now. "******** idiot. She's scamming you, yanno foo'" He grunted as he wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth. "That ******** hurt, you douchebag."

Surion glares at the male, his dragonettes never letting down their stances. Then he heard the male's claim and his eyes shifted from the male to look at the female, he knew Senti would warn him in his mind if the male made any more "Nadya?" it was the only word he said.

"He's lying Surion! I don't..." she stopped a second, reconsidering what she was going to say. "He's just an angry ex." she blurts out. "He never got over me."

Bonez scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Keep it up, Darlin' Didja tell him about how you're an aspiring singer and have troubles making ends meet?" He knew Nadya's game, he wasn't letting her walk away this time.

Nadya started crying big ol' crocodile tears. "Its not true!" She sobbing into her hands to keep from looking at Surion.

Surion takes a step to the male "You ... scram if you know what's good for you" his teeth were bared, every single sharp pointy one of them. He wasn't going to deal with her with this a*****e here, he was already raging for how the guy was groping her inside. What the guy said however was ringing true in his ears as familiar.

Bonez was getting some sick and twisted satisfaction from this. He'd never busted her with one of her boyfriends before so this was a real treat for him. "******** no, I wanna watch the firework show" Surion's teeth did not frighten him. After all, this was Gaia, you deal with pointy teeth all the time if you piss people off regularly. "Hey, be sure to ask her who Harmonie is ..."

"s**t, I'm gonna need some popcorn for this." He muttered to himself as he took a few steps back to lean against one of the cars in the parking lot.

Nadya was crying real tears, but the reason wasn't what she was pretending. She was embarrassed and humiliated. She was gonna kill Bonez if it was the last thing she ever did...

From through the shirt's hidden slits that he'd long ago learned to make the male's wings burst out, hell not even Nadya had seen those as yet. Those wings spreading a good way out on either side gave him quite the leverage as he rammed the guy HARD in the gut knocking him out before he wheeled on Nadya. "What the hell is he talking about Nadya" he uses his hands to pull hers away from her face

Bonez flew on to the hood of the car beside the one he was leaning against, out cold.

Nadya was horrified at the what she'd just witnessed. She was scared Surion had just killed Bonez and ran to see, but she was caught by Surion. She was scared of him at this point. She wasn't aware he had such a temper ... or large wings. She just kept her eyes looking down while she sobbed, unable to speak for she was thinking Bonez was dead.

Surion let go of one of her hands the hand, it's then he noticed the tattoo on her wrist and remembering the story she'd once told him of a dead friend. His hand moving to her chin pulling it up, his eyes searching for the answer he sought "Nadya... What is he talking about..." he paused "And who is Harmonie"

Nadya was a slobbering mess by this time. And when she looked in to his eyes, guilt rushed over her. "Harmonie... is my daughter." she whimpered. "Bonez ... is her father." she admitted.

He let her go... horrified and yet disgusted. He'd let this woman into his heart, he had let himself care for her, all at the same time as he was letting his heart and mind mend from his decision to move on. "So what he's saying is true... You are only using me"

Nadya looked hurt at the accusation. "No! Surion no! I ... really do care for you. I would never use you!" she pleaded. She knew in her heart, she wasn't speaking the full truth, but she didn't want him to hate her.

Surion growls, he saw her eyes divert when she made that claim. He no longer believed what she said to him "Bullshit Nadya, You can't have two guys at the same time." he glared at her, his wings twitching with his irritability. His voice wasn't low, he wasn't trying to keep very quiet

He's a smart one, this Surion.... Nadya turns to look him in the eyes, her crying stopped. She used a free hand to wipe the remaining tears. Her expression stiffens, and looks less like an innocent victim. "I did care about you." she says flatly, barely any emotion backing those words, despite their truth. "But I have a little girl that needs a roof over her head and food to eat. I do what I have to."

She looked away briefly, trying to catch a glimpse of Bonez. "She'd have adored you..." she whispers, emotion returning to her voice.

"Right, and if you did care about me you would have told me about her" his voice was sarcastic "You are just a little whore arent you, no wonder you've been putting on the moves. You just want in my wallet and my pants" anger was quickly creeping into his voice

Nadya was utterly appalled at what was coming out Surion's mouth. She started crying again, "Having a child is a deal-breaker. Guys don't want women with baggage!" She stopped trying to defend herself when he suddenly called her whore. Now that was stepping over the line.

She pulled her hand back and let it swing to slap him. "Don't you every call me a whore. No one calls me whore." she was disgusted and pissed now. "I don't need you, I never did. What man doesn't want to have sex with his hot girlfriend? ******** impotent sissy." She resisted the urge to spit on him, for now.

Surion turned his head with the slap, the red dragonette on his shoulder clawing harshly at the hand that passed so near to it. "A man who only gives that part of him to someone he considers to be his mate. That's what man doesn't" he looked back at her his cheek was red from the slap, his eyes a piercing emerald green as the gem dead center of his forehead lit briefly "And believe you me, I'm not impotent, quite the opposite... but you'll never get any of it." his voice was raising as he spoke, he ignored the out cold and likely groaning male near them

"Yeah right. That must mean you're gay." she quickly recoiled her scratched hand and stepped backwards. "Its no wonder you're still single. Come out of the closet already, Surion." she was still of the belief that there was something wrong with him if he didn't want to sleep with her. Nothing would convince her otherwise. And now that her game had been blown, she had nothing left to do with Surion. She'd stopped crying and shaking by this time, and was acting very harsh and cold. She just turned on her heal and started walking away. "Don't ever call me again." She said over her shoulder. She wasn't even going to check on Bonez. Her concern for him was gone now that she was so pissed off.

"Good riddance" Surion steamed turning on his own heal, he knew the truth about his sexual orientation, he wasn't gonna give her any satisfaction of a retort. He storms away from her not stopping till he'd reached a bench not too far from where he'd parked his Harley, his wings folding into himself once more as he dropped onto the bench, head in his hands as the emotions finally caught up to him.

To say Surion hadn't been disappointed or even fuming about his experiences with Nadya would have been a lie. He couldn't believe he'd let someone fool him like that, but as the male sat on the bench and calmed down even a bit he began to thank his godesses that he'd found out now instead of after a year or more.

He supposed perhaps thats what he got for selecting a female from a website instead of really getting to know them first. After taking a deep breath the male looked up at the sky and made a silent vow to be far more careful after all he only had one heart.... And it was far from not hurting

Why does the best restaurant in town have to be in a mall?

The young woman, clad in some very unflattering khaki work shorts and a plain green polo, was exiting the Mall when she'd heard a commotion in the parking lot. She was curious, sure, was her nature, but she didn't want to end up being a rubber-neck. Instead, she pretended nothing out of the ordinary had occurred.

In her arms, she carried a couple large bags; a few special items she picked up while doing a little window shopping when she was finished with her lunch. She'd contented herself to just heading to her work truck to get back to work without a second thought on the distressed couple. It's none of my business anyway.

While crossing in front of the obviously saddened man, Malina's (un)natural grace decided to make an appearance. Tripping over an untied bootlace, both bags she carried swirled around and became airborne as the woman tried to catch her balance and avoid a fall to the pavement.

The sounds of a lot of items landing after their flight brought Surion's thoughts back to reality and the present moment. The male brought his gaze back down from the sky in time to see the woman land rather un-ladylike. "Are you okay?" the dragconic male asks as he stands up and moves tohelp her up onto her feet once more

She'd nearly landed on her face with her tumble, but managed to brace the impact with quick thinking and extending her hands out in front of her. She'd hesitated a couple seconds to let everything register in her mind, since it happened so incredibly fast.

The sound of a voice behind her quickly grabbed her attention, and she spun around, quickly rising to her feet while giving a quick dusting to get the dirt off her now lightly skinned knees. "Yeahyeah, I'm okay, just a bit clumsy sometimes." She spoke quickly, her accent not quite as audible.

She hadn't ignored his hand while she was on the ground, she merely hadn't seen it. She looked up to see who exactly she was speaking to and noticed it was the man involved in the earlier dispute. She gave a weak smile, and extended her right hand in greeting, "How about yourself?" She spoke more calmly that time, her thick accent quite noticeable.

Surion watched her stand and dust off, ok she didnt seem too worse for wear, which was good. "I dont think theres a person in this whole world who isnt even a tad clumsy at times" he muses dropping his hand until she extends her own. He grasps it for a moment and then replies "I've certainly had better days, I can tell you that" he sighs and then stoops to pick up one of her dropped bags the sun glinting off lipring a moment as he moved to hand the bag to her after putting anything that had left it's home in the bag back in it.

The lipring glint did catch her attention only momentarily. Her short time on Gaia had taught her one thing: don't ever be surprised, because the beings are as diverse as snowflakes. "Uhm, thank you ..." she reached out to take the bag after letting go of the handshake.

"I'm Malina"

She glanced around quickly to see if she could note where the other bag had landed. She winced seeing the contents had not only spilled out, but broke as well. So much for trying to save time and money while on her lunch break.

He nods "Surion... Nice to meet you Malina, you had two..." his gaze lands on the other bag as well "Uh oh... nothing too expensive I hope?" he questions letting his bangs fall back over his face as they usually were.

He turns to walk over to where the mess was....

Malina sighed and trudged over to the broken glass. "They ... weren't cheap, but not bad." She knelt down and picked up the big pieces, being careful. "It was my mother's birthday present. I picked them up from the import shop." she almost wanted to cry, because these glass birds were the last ones on the shelf, and she knew that her mother would love them, and appreciate their artistic quality.

"Back to the drawing board I guess. She's hard to shop for." she mused.

Surion picked up one large piece and turned it over in his hands "What kind of birds were these?" he was crouched next to the pile of broken glass, he wasnt as 'careful' about picking up a piece not really worried about cutting himself more interested in the items. It was doing wonders to get his mind off the fight he'd just had a short time before.

He wasnt thinking about being shy or anything like that it wasnt really his personality. Glancing from teh glass to the young woman he waited for her reply, his one visible piercing blue eye examining her more curious if she was just plain human or like any other person in Gaia a mix of things.

Malina had to think about it, not so familiar with the names of the native animals. "I believe ... pea-c**k? I think. Big tail feathers." she motioned a bit with her hands while talking of the birds, as was a habit of hers when describing things. "They were hand-made." she added, sighing as her elongated ears dropped a little, emphasizing her emotions a bit.

She was far from human in appearance. Well, not far, but it was obvious she wasn't fully human, for she had long, expressive ears and a slender tail that had a tuft of hair at the tip, same color as the white hair pulled into a loose ponytail on her head.

"I ... appreciate your help, Surrrion." She rolled the 'r' in his name a little longer than is normal, as she had to remember how he'd pronounced it a few moments ago.

"A peacock huh, well that shouldnt be too hard..." he was a lil vague, but he felt bad for her, the whole broken bird thing appeared to depress her. He'd never seen anyone like her that in and of itself intrigued him.

Turning his attention back to the pile he counted the obvious bodies of the broken birds and then smiles. He was now debating, there was two ways he might help her, and was debating which one to use as he gathered up the glass.

Malina heard what he said, but she wasn't sure what he meant by it, and assumed it may have just been her misunderstanding since the language on Gaia was not her native tongue.

"I will need to sweep up the rest. I can't leave broken glass here. If you'll excuse me, I have a small broom in my work truck." She stood up and began to excuse herself, unaware that he was planning to help.

"No, it'll be ok you wont need it, here can I see that piece please?" he holds his hand out for the piece of glass she was holding while his other hand dug in his hip-pouch for a piece of chalk, something he never left home.

He'd finished gathering up the pieces into the same area and was looking up at her.

She slowly handed over the intact head of one of the peacocks, tilting her head slightly confused. "You ... can fix glass?"

"I can fix most anything if all the pieces are around, or something to fit in the place, equivilent exchange cant make something out of nothing..." he starts drawing a circle on the ground around the glass. Once the circle was done he dropped the chalk in his pouch and put his hands on the edges of the circle and it lit up.

Malina watched, fascinated by what was happening. She'd never witnessed anything like this before. But then again, everything on Gaia seemed new to her. "How do you fix things like that?"

As the chalk circle lit up, she stepped back a few steps, unsure what was happening.

"Alchemy, it's something I learned when I was a kid... I don't use it much anymore, dont really have a need to" he rocks back onto his butt and after a moment the light disappeared and there was glass birds left in it's stead.

He smiles though it was only really visible on the side of his face that wasnt covered by his long bangs. "There ya go" he says

Alchemy.

She'd not really heard much about that before, but she was making mental notes to look in to it. Seems like a useful skill to have.

When she seen the two little glass peacocks on the ground in the center of the chalk circle, her eyes widened a bit and she squealed. "Thank you!" She smiled to Surion and then went to scoop up the items. She inspected them, noticing they looked exactly like they had in the store. "This is amazing! Thank you!"

If light bulbs going off was an actual visual, Malina would have had one. "Hey, Surrrrion, if you have a few minutes, could I borrow you?" she looked to him, hopeful, with her tail swaying eagerly behind her.

A look of pride and happiness crosses his face when he sees her happiness over the birds, he had no idea what they had been for but that was not the point, he'd done something to cheer someone else up which in turn had cheered him up some.

"Borrow me?" there was a hint of confusion in his voice but he stood up straightening his shirt a bit, the single visible brow raising visibly.

"Yes! And your amazing ... Alk-emmee skill. This way!" Malina held the two peacocks securely, and grabbed the other shopping bag, and skipped towards her work truck, which parked not too far from where the pair had been.

Her work truck, which belonged to the museum she was employed at, was just a small, white, 4x4 compact truck. Nothing fancy really. It was a little beat up, very dirty, and looked to be on in age. Definitely something that's been used and abused for a while.

She was able to successfully unlock the door and put the glass ornaments on the seat and she turned to see if Surion had followed her.

Surion was curious to see what it was she needed fixed, and with hands stuffed in his pockets, he followed her and stopped a few feet short of the truck waiting.

Malina moved to the back of the beat-up truck and struggled a bit with the tailgate before giving up and just climbing up over it. She lifted a heavy canvas tarp revealing several worn and dirty boxes. The dust from the tarp caused her to cough a little bit as she started opening up one of the boxes.

"Come over here. I wanna see if you can fix this." she was giddy as she carefully lifted away layers of padding and rags used to protect the objects in the box.

Surion walked around the truck to stand beside the bed and pulled his hands from his pockets. he leaned on the side of hte truck and looked down towards the contents of the box she was digging through "What is it?" he asked her, a hint of curiousity in his voice.

He'd fixed many things and created many things over the course of his life, but usually someone didnt seem so excited about him MAYBE fixing something

With very slow and precise movements, Malina pulled a what appeared to be just a chunk of gold from the box. She blew across the surface, allowing some of the dust and cobwebs to flit up in to the air, revealing some ornate carving on the piece of precious metal.

"I don't know what it is, but ... I bet its something beautiful." She placed the chunk of gold in Surion's hand and reached into the box and pulled another item out, this time, it looked merely like a piece of broken glass. She was careful with it, handling it with the utmost care.

"This is part of it. It looks like normal glass in the daylight, but watching," she lifted the canvas tarp up, and made a makeshift tent to shield the glass from the sunlight. The glass became smoky and opaque.

"Isn't it fascinating! I'm just dying to know what this is, and what it does, or what it was used for!"

A grin graced Surion's lips as he held the shiny gold in his hand, he surpressed the urge to act on the draconic urges to collect the shiny item. His eyes soon moved to the glass just as the piece of the object went under the shade of the tarp.

"Very odd piece of glass" he muses alloud, his eyes didnt mask his curiousity "So these go together then?" he'd never worked with magical objects in this way before, he didnt know if he could repair this or not.

Malina gently folded a piece of a canvas rag around the glass and put it in the box. "This box here has all the pieces I found together. I'm assuming they all go together at least, because most pieces fit together. I think a couple may be missing still, though."

"So you think you can fix it?" her eyes held a hopeful gleam. If he could just fix things that easily, he'd be an incredible asset to her uhh ... 'research team'.

The fact that this may have magical or ritualistic relevance did not occur to her, at least not yet. She's not fully studied it yet, so she didn't think to ask if Surion had any special limitations on what he could fix or not.

"Well I don't see what would stop me from putting it back together, it'd be nice to know what it was, but yeah..." he reached into the box but couldnt quite reach the items in the bottom that were other parts to it over the side of the truck, without even a second thought the male unfurled his wings from teh spots on his back and lifted over the side of the truck settling down on it's side and reaching into the box once more to pick another piece up and hold the two pieces together to examine it. He didnt even look at her this entire time, he was curious, interested and on top of that, it seemed like a challenge to his ability.

Malina was giddy that he would do it. "Well, I think its a picture frame of some kind. Its large, oval shaped.... uhm, do you need to set them out or anything, or remove them from the box? I don't know if you want to do it here ...."

Malina was looking around in the parking lot to see if there was maybe a place they could go-

oh crap!

She looked at her watch and stood up quickly, "Oh my goodness, I'm late back from lunch. Crap! Give me a second to call my boss---"

*soft melodic ring tone*

"Hi Mr. Ro- Yes. I know. I'm sorry, I'm on my way. Yes, I know... sorry!sorry!. Okay, meatball sub you say? okay, I'm on it." She flipped her phone closed and sulked.

"Surion, I gotta stop and get my boss his lunch and head back. Is there perhaps a place I could meet you later?"

Surion looked up almost startled he'd been so intent on looking at the pieces "What? Oh! yes uhmm, come to the Rhythmos Aetermus club later, I should be there I have some more work to do before we open tonight" he reached into a pocket after setting the pieces down and handed her a card with the club's address on it

Malina was highly disappointed in the situation. She was silently cussing her boss out as she started packing up the pieces again. "Rhythmos Aetermus club?" she was confused. "Wouldn't we need a place less ... uhm ... well, with less people and more light?"

She thought for a moment, if it was really something that'd be easy to do, like how he fixed the glass peacocks, or if he'd need to concentrate or something. She assumed the latter, which is why a club seemed an odd place.

She took the card and looked at the address. "Maybe you could come to the museum if you aren't busy in an hour or so?"

"Well my office is pretty well lit but uhmm" he looks at the watch on his wrist "sure, I think I should have time to do that and still get everything done at the club." He lifted out of the back of the truck and smiles "Besides the others can handle it, Rose can wait for the music till I get back." he looks back to her "Got a card for where this museum is?" he'd never been to it and figured it was better to ask then guess
