As the flames approached her from multiple directions the wall of earth began to rise around her. The fire blasts all hit the wall at once and fizzled out. dEx sighed in relief when she realized that her defense had held up well against the strong attack. She knew that fire techniques were not something she wanted to mess around with if she could help it and learning defenses like this would help.

dEx ended the technique and let the wall of earth crumble around her. She saw the Third nodding approvingly to her as the earth cleared away. dEx smiled and was glad that she finally found the trick to performing the technique correctly. "Thank you, Hokage-sama. I know this technique will serve me well. What else can you show me?" she asked hopefully.

The Third Hokage smiled at dEx. "I've got plenty more to show you. Let's work on an earth ninjutsu that is useful in not only damage, but temporarily trapping your opponent." replied the Third. dEx smiled and nodded to him, this sounded like a good technique to her. Shadow watched on with great interest as they continued training in the clearing.

"Okay, this technique is called Earth Flow River. This technique traps an opponent in a river or pool of mud and you can make it so that they can't move and you can even deal out damage by suffocating them if neccessary." explained the Hokage. dEx nodded in response as he gave her the details. This technique really intrigued her.

There would definintely be many good uses for it if she was in a tight spot. "I will demonstrate the technique for you first." said the Hokage as he prepared his chakra. Then the Third Hokage performed the hand seals quickly. "Earthslide River!" he called out. The ground out in front of him turned into a mud pool and some rocks and leaves that were on the ground were drawn into it.

The Hokage then turned back to dEx as he stopped the technique and the mud disappeared causing the rocks drawn into it to reappear. Then he took a moment to step through the combination of hand seals slowly for her. "Okay, go ahead and give it a try." said the Third with a smile. dEx nodded enthusiastically as she smiled back at the Hokage.

Then she began to focus her chakra. She performed the hand seals that the Hokage had just shown her. "Earthslide River!" she called out as she formed the last seal. Mud appeared in front of her, but it was a very small puddle. She tossed a rock at it and it didn't sink much. She looked at it and studied it closely. After a few moments she realized what was wrong with it.

This time she prepared her chakra more closely and setup to try again. After focusing her chakra a bit more she performed the hand seals. "Earthslide River!" she called out more confidently this time. The Hokage leaned in a bit to get a better look. A pool of mud appeared in front of her. This time the puddle was much longer and seemed deeper.

dEx looked up hopefully at the Third Hokage. He reached down and picked up a rockl and tossed it into the mud puddle that was now in front of her. This time the piece slowly sunk all the way out of sight. He smiled at her and she stopped the technique. The puddle began to become smaller and soon the mud had disppeared and the rock reappeared on the ground.

The Third Hokage walked back over to her. "Now try using it to defend yourself from an attack from me. I'm going to try it once where you try to catch me and sink me. Then we can move on to start working on another technique." said the Hokage. dEx nodded and prepared herself. The Hokage prepared to use his fire blast technique again.

Before he used the technique dEx had performed her hand seals. Earthslide River!" she called out. After she called it the pool of mud appeared underneath the Hokage and he began to sink into it fairly quickly. He smiled at her and she stopped the technique. The Third Hokage was standing on the ground again as the mud disappeared. "That was fine. Let's move on to some stronger ninjutsu technique." said the Third.

dEx was ready to continue training. She wanted to learn as much as she possibly could and then work on trying to get back home if she could. "Okay, now I would like to teach you another Earth Release skill. This is a good attacking skill. There is actually a way to perform it with a modification to make it stronger, but we'll work on that next." explained the Hokage.

dEx smiled as this technique sounded very useful as well. She was bouncing up and down on the balls of her feet because she was so excited to see what this new technique would do. She was really enjoying learning the earth ninjutsus quite a bit. They seemed natural with her clan abilities. The Hokage smiled as he noticed her energy before continuing on with his explaination of the technique.

"This skill is called Earth Dragon Projectile. It is a ninjutsu technique where you create a dragon that fires missiles of earth at your opponent. The secret to this attack is that it fires multiple missiles if you want it to. You can hit multiple enemies if they are close together or you can fire multiple shots at one enemy to increase your chance of hitting them." continued the Third.

This sounded like a very powerful technique to her. It would be useful against strong enemies and if she ever had to fight mulitiple enemies at the same time or someone using multiple shadow clones. "I'll demonstrate the technique for you now." said the Third. dEx watched closely as the Third Hokage began to perform the hand seals.
