Ruby looked at the vial. "How do I know you ain't tryin' to play me?"
Ora let out a small sigh. "I will drink first if you wish, and give explicit instructions for the dragon to make sure you drink, or kill you where you stand. You don't want your son to watch you be eaten by a dragon, I'm assuming."
Ruby shook her head, her gray eyes fading in and out of focus. The small vial in her hand looked back at her, terrifying, cold, and imposing.
"We have no time, Ruby," Ora whispered fervently. "Look at how many have already fallen, this is nothing compared to what will come next. By the gods woman! I've never fought to save anything in my life, and here I am, me, ready to sacrifice myself for a world I would have wanted destroyed a week ago."
Ruby's hand started shaking violently, threatening to spill the liquid of the vial. "Please, make sure Aaron is safe an' ....happy. An' Arch....I..." She didn't know how to finish.
Ora nodded. "Aaron will come to no harm. Those who follow me, will make sure of it."
Ruby took off the top of the vial and drunk it down quickly, it had the texture of black ink, and tasted oddly sweet with a chemical aftertaste. She briefly thought back on her life, some things made her smile, others made tears come to her eyes, and for some she felt shame, but as her body slowly numbed, she began to feel nothing but peace.
The gold paint on Ruby's hair wa almost gone, the red blood colored locks shining beneath. Her chest fell, and didn't rise again. Ora watched as the goddess joined the underworld.

Larrisa Talbot ArynChris Cloud was impassive. Somehow the woman dressed as Batman had gotten the drop on him and stolen the boy, and Cloud had been unable to act. Remembering, he knew exactly what had happened, but his own failure to respond still seemed impossible.
((As in, "Hey, SS! You're not a n00b rper, so please don't act like one. evil We're talking Cloud here, of FF7? Left in charge of a little boy and hiding him from sight under his half-cloak? He does not know of Batman Beyond or Silent, and not only would he have let you fly away without throwing a sword at you and/or leaping into the air in pursuit, he never would have let you take the boy in the first place. Please don't assume.))
Seeing Silent airborne once again, this time without the boy, Cloud leapt up and attacked her with his enormous pair of swords. ((Sorry, but I'm not familiar with Cloud either (in-character or out). At the time, everybody on the ground was being grabbed by vines and she acted to protect Aaron) ((You don't have to. Any man wielding two enormous swords and protecting a little boy under his cloaked arm--and that was all stated clearly as well as posted in the Guide--is not about to let someone in a masked costume take that boy away. You did not give him a chance to defend.))

Tom Myamoto "Alright." Marcos scanned the area once more." Damn. I can't find anything. And all these people aren't helping." Marcos looked around once more and saw an opening, big enough for someone to hide in, in a wall a good ways away from the battle. "I think I found some where for you to hide until we can find an exit." he said to Amanda. Just incase anyone decided to get in his way he had right hand ready. "Follow me." Amanda followed with Marcos, while Silent Lucidity probed her mind, the link couldn't be found. She heard the loud "FOUND HER!" and Blitz running in her direction, and almost panicked.

Blitz came to a stop next to Amanda and Marco. "I need to borrow the girl. We cant kill them without her. I promise that she has a much better chance of making it out alive if she comes with me." He spoke hurriedly but clear enough that he didn't have to repeat. He tapped his foot waiting for a response.

But the Knave, unlike Ora, had a little more in store for Ruby than a more high likelihood of never waking again, and stepped forward. The Knave knelt, apparently to pay last respects to the fallen Healer, and laid a rose upon her chest.

ArynChris "Uh, uh, uhh!" Acelr teased, wagging the knive back and forth in her shield/dagger hand. "Not if you call me names, little girl." She pointed it at Death's face. "And you're ugly." ((Ora gasped in horror "I am not!")) The vines came out, of the ground in a large mass, covered in poisoned thorns. They dived after Acelr like a wave of a thousand snakes.

Marcos saw her begin to panic, and a blade shot out of the palm of his hand. "Don't worry." He said "I'll make sure no one harms you." He placed his other hand on her shoulder and smiled kindly.

I mean if it will end all this?"

"Anytime they hit her, its gonna hurt you." He spoke in the same hurried tone as before. "To save you, we gotta get you to drink something that will knock you out and sever that connection okay? But we gotta hurry before she starts getting stabbed you understand?" He turned around dropped to his knee. "Piggyback lets go!"

Acelr ignored them, caring niether about poison nor about being crushed. Actually, she just didn't care, period.
"Touchy, touchy..." she teased with a broadening smile. Her eyes glittered, and golden sparks gathered at her feet.
Finally, after a moment that seemed to last far longer than time counted it, her left eye twitched, and Acelr sighed impatiently. "Fine."
She crossed her arms in front of her and swung them both outward, slicing half the attacking vines with her sword and half with the silver dagger.

Leaning back, the Knave pulled out a spiked mace and smashed Ruby's head into pulp with one very swift and fluid move. "No emotional attachments," the Knave said in monotone, standing. "And my queen would have been pleased."
