Raine fell from a large fence, back behind the village where the rice paddies broke from the earth and began the far expanses of water. His sandals crunched as he crossed the dirt road, stepping up to his lone tree, hanging over the water and cool in the shade of the mountain. Abandoning his shoes, Raine poked his toes into the water, a familiar and welcome feel that he had not experienced for months. Breathing deeply for a moment, Raine pulled open the scroll once more, reading below what he had already managed.
To even fathom this jutsu, one must be as swift as a mantis, able to maneuver themselves far beyond the eye's capabilities.
Riane nodded, the water rippling below him. He had to be really quick. Able to jump and get in close to somebody. So it was clear he had to train on quickening his body. That was good, he was already planning on training like that anyways. Recalling from the academy some early training, Raine decided on practicing his jumps and flips. The water barely reached about the height of his feet, so it wouldn't provided any resistance. Bending down, Raine crouched low his fingers touching the fertile ground beneath the water and pushed with all of his might upward.

Raine fell back with a small splash, water droplets flying dangerously close to the scroll that he had rerolled and placed on the dirt road. Quickly throwing his hands up next to him, Raine pivoted both feet forward, diving to the side, parallel to the road. He rolled as he hit the ground, soaking his back in water, his hair splashed and flinging a string of water into the air and he summer-salted up into a kneeling position. The water exploded behind his motion, and the boy quickly rose, whipping around to see the last drops of water flinging up into the air.

(Eh accidentally hit 12 instead of 1) Raine breathed with the effort, now facing back toward the tree, he stepped forward quickly throwing his leg up and lifted his arms over his head. His feet left the ground and Raine's hands plunged into the water, sending a splash up into his face, he flung his feet back behind him as he stayed in a handstand for a split second, before his pushed upward and back, falling. His legs curled back, and he stuck a landing up right once more.

Droplets sprinkled over Raine's face and ran down his cheeks, dripping over his chin and colliding far below into the endless oceans of waves at the boy's feet. Determined and pumped, his heart pounding in his chest, Raine dashed forward, Jumping as high as he could, pulling his head and legs in attempting to complete a flip. He spun about half way before the back of his head and his upper back hit the water, than the ground. His whole body splashed down painfully and Raine flinched. His face and eyes barely above the water line.

The boy walled for a second in the cool water, his already aching body soaking into the calmness and relaxing. But the need to train and learn heartbreaker drove his to rise. Pushing into the silt he lifted up, water running down his scars, his shorts now completely soaked, and his mohawk flat against his skull, which looked oddly unproportional to his small body. Standing he looked out over the rice fields, the hill far in the distance where he had climbed into the passages earlier that night. The need for strength, pushed him. He needed to be able to protect what he loved! Running with more force, his feet like bombs in the water, Raine flung up even higher than before. His gathered momentum carrying him up and enabling him to twist his body even faster than before. He pulled his body in and shoved his head down, his hips and legs following. Raine gasped for a terrifying second in the air, the water below him, the world flipping in front of him. He soon resurfaced, his heels digging into the earth, the short grasses growing brushing his feet. Raine leaned forward and stumbled flinging his hands out as he stopped. Once he was sturdy, Raine couldn't help but burst into a smile. He had done a flip! For the first time ever he had succeed at a flip. Looking back to his tree, now at least 30 feet back, Raine gasped and laughed.

Filled with overwhelming joy, Raine bubbled uncontroably. His success was often his downfall as would be in his next attempt. Pushing back towards the tree, Raine ran too quickly, he Jumped too high and he twisted so oddly with such complexity there was no way he could have landed. In stead the small boy smashed into the ground with a small squeal, he landed on his side, with his hand extended out in an attempt to save himself. But to no avail. Raine's yelp was met with a kiss of water, which filled his mouth, his eyes, and his nose. Rolling to breath, Raine flung up his back extending up toward the sky, his limbs clutching the ground like a four-legged animal. He spit the water from his orifices as he dripped into his own reflection.

Raine pulled himself up, coughing his breath was stolen and his wrist twisted into pain. He shook it for a second still nodding in determination, which was very unconvincing given the look on his face. The boy lifted his head to the pink sky above him and shook his hair, slinging water out around him. He stepped back to where the water wasn't so deep and shook out once more. Raine decided on something much easier and bent down, Crouching like he first had, sending himself up into the air. A very unimpressive amount, which Raine noted. He needed so much more practice.

Landing safely from his last attempt Raine sighed. He needed to work harder. He recalled the very first trainings he had done here years ago. While flipped his leg up in a some kind of stretch. He remembered training here all the time before he had even joined in the academy, determined to impress heisei with his improvement. Raine jumped from left to right, landing on one foot at a time. He remembered training here with Hatchi, the two boys spending endless hours working to no extint in the waters. The small boy chanced a glance back at the scroll he had to keep at it. Learn it for hatchi, survive for hatchi, protect like Hatchi would have.

Raine stopped, water dripping from every part of him. The cool breeze freezing on his skin, he watched the leaves in front of him fall and smiled. The danced down to the water's surface where they lay down to sleep. Steeping closer Raine watched at the leaves spun out before him, he laughed a bit, spinging out and reaching for a leaf. Missing it, he quickly repositioned his hands and waited. The small leaf coming to a stop in his palm. The boy smiled with victory. Holding the leaf in his fingers, he gazed up at the canopy of tree and awed at the falling leaves, dancing in a glorious ball. He strung out his arm once more and snapped another leaf from the air, setting it with the other leaf.

Raine wadded forward so that he was standing directly under his tree, the leaves falling around him. The small boy whirled around the waving leaves snaking past him and tumbling down. Quickly he broke through the air, his outstretched hand grasping a fallen leaf and pulling it back in to check if he had succeeded. Surely enough he had won! That made three! Three conquered dancers, he giggled to himself, striking out again.

Raine flicked his flattened hand outwards chopping out and slicing the air, the leaf he hit pushed aside and colliding with the ground. "MayDay! Houston! Man down! Man down!" he cut another leaf, following it to the water whistling all the time. Like a falling bomb, his eye anticipating the hit. Without a sound it landed lightly and Raine burst up. "Bam!" He flung his arms up and the leaves he was holding fluttered down over the back of his shoulder.

The small boy laughed, flinging out once more, and knocked a leaf off of it's course. "Hatcha!" Raine flung punches into the open air, fighting against an unseen enemy. A large leaf toppled down more quickly than usual, "No! You dare challenge the greatest ninja in all the land! The Legendary ninja of Oto himself! Tekkenseisai Raine!" he smashed out with his fist, catching the leaf and pushing it out of it's way before letting it fall and seep lop-sided into the water. "Haha, thought not!"

"Yeah, that's right bring it on tree!" the small boy waved his first up at his lanky enemy, throwing down attacks with the lightest deliccy. This time, it seemed the tree had called upon all of it's energy and flung out it's most worthy attack. The wind picked up and whipping the evening air through the branches, sending an armada of leaves down at Raine. Who stood in a fighting stance, his fist ready and his gaze a deadly fiercness. "WOOAAA!!!" The boy joked to himself, playing ninja just as he had many years ago. He sent a torrent of attacks. Smashing and slashing, his hands and elbows bashing the leaves to their dooms, none passed unharmed.
But wait! A single rouge leaf, as deadly and as swift as the very night, was heading for the defenseless village that lay below Raine as the pool of water. He needed to stop it anyway he could., Going against every instinct that Raine possessed the small boy lifted his foot, and sent it up, hurling forward with energy unlike any ever seen before the master ninja, killed the leaf with a single kick.

"Is that all you've got for the most legendary ninja in all the world!" Raine beckoned up his chest puffed out and his chin held high with victory. "There's nothing you can get passed me, you stupid old tree!" instantly Raine felt bad for insulting one of his oldest friends, who he had played on long before he had ever thought of joining the academy. "Oh sorry." he said innocently lost in his make-believe. But soon enough another wind blew and the harsh words were forgotten with the fury of battle.
