Have had this week off of work, which has been a nice respite.
How have things been for you? Any results from the interview?

Things have been okay . . . just going through the motions in most cases. Our workplace is still in shreds thanks to a decidedly slow remodel, and the owners are likely to put their foot down soon. We are two weeks into a job that should have taken a week tops.
As for the interview, no- I haven't heard anything. I've applied for my clearances, though. FBI and CPS are taken care of (at least started), and they did a criminal background on me as well. I'm a little concerned on the time they are taking, but at the same breath I have to accept that this is Christmas season. Things tend to be slower.

I recall a long remodel when i worked at McDonald's - not fun at all. Hopefully it ends soon.
Wow, that's a lot of clearances/checks. Is it government-related, or is that par for the psych field?

From my experience, it is fairly par here for any job in which you work with kids. We have to submit to checks for criminal backgrounds, FBI check of our fingerprints, and then a separate authority for any form of specialized issues in the past with kids. That way we are assured that anybody that shows up at school/community/home for your kid is a safe individual. A bit of a hassle, but if it allows me a better job at long last, who am I to complain?

Hopefully it won't be too much longer.
*sighs* first week back after vacation is always rough.

Yeah, well, I am going to try and bug them to remind them I'm still interested tomorrow. My clearances are still not here yet, but best to keep letting them know I am wanting this job.

Nothing wrong w/ a timely reminder; it keeps your name on their mind.

One can hope. I really do want to keep myself in their mind. A job like this might make a lot of difference in my world.

After all the hard work you put in you really deserve a break like this.
