Kuro, I think it would depend upon the system of magics and whether or not the supernatural in the rp is defined by the faith behind it working or something other like the planar mechanics people pull.
Kellindel, there is a difference between saying: "Hey, if you need any help you can ask." and "You should let me judge."
It's a subtle difference, but it does exist.
Kiminaro, take your time. It should be amusing.

Kellindel I could care less about style. I speak of roleplaying ability. Rating characters like that serves no purpose. Every character should be able to beat every other character. The thing about tiers is that you're rating CHARACTERS not RPers because you can just rate RPers by intelligence. There's no need to call me a "high-tier RPer" when "a ******** genius" will do. And, no, every character CANNOT beat every other character. There ARE unwinnable fights no matter how smart one side is. For example, I've had a pyromancer fight completely fire-resistant characters who also had control over fire. Could she have won? Yeah, she did - through technicalities of the tournament she was in, ring-outs and scoring higher and the like. If they were fights to the death, they would have been unwinnable. I'm an awesomesauce RPer and haven't lost a character yet, but I tend to have a lot of trouble with a character's first fight because it's always ALWAYS a ******** character optimized to give my new character problems. And there's a lot of these ******** pseudopsionicists around lately doing things that can only be countered by their own brand of "psionics". I'm watching one guy who has total control of everything within a certain distance, absorbing every attack sent his way, and the barrier costs zero effort on his part and is always on, and the only way to stop it that I can see is to use the same brand of "psionics" to negate the field. XShilonX Precisely. To claim otherwise would basically be saying that God-Modding is Okie-Dokie and I can cheat my way to the 256K grand prize by saying my character is an Angel and I can call upon thee the wrath of the TRUE god and all his sons and daughters, smiting thou in a most unpleasant way. See my point? Uh, you CAN. Clash never actually bothered with quality control in this thing, I guarantee there'll be arguements a couple of rounds up.

Crawleymang~ Nihilistic_Impact Who's to say the athiest doesn't just see some person with what looks to be delusions of granduer? So what you're saying is... if the atheist witnesses this person flying calling the power of god and other various supernatural acts.. he would attribute it to his own mental shortcomings? Sure.. he could do that. But he'd still lose. Was it ever stated the person was flying? Perhaps they only see someone runing around like a little kid pretending to be superman?

Kellindel People talk about war, famine, and disease a lot too. Prove to me these comments didn't result from a discussion about Ertai, the tournament or rules, or that they simply didn't appear randomly in the silent aftermath of such mind-boggling debates, and I will dedicate 1% of the approximate 100% to 'useless conversation'.
And maybe even put your name in beside it in brackets.

There should be, but its mostly just a different way of saying the same thing when taking such into consideration. I'm still speaking from opinion, though.

Okay. Way to be a genius and play into the tier system. What you are doing is giving the mouse more powers and therefore increasing his tier. So you're actually proving my point even moreso. Because by adding powers to the mouse.. you admit that he has to be built better in order to stand a chance.

Crawleymang~ XShilonX We're not talking about fighting games, dammit! xD I was talking about RolePlays. =P That doesn't change the fact that the metaphor holds and proves my point. If my character is a super psychic megawizard and your character is a angsty mouse. My character obviously has priority in every way. Tier system is not BS. Yes, in Roleplays, it is. The Angsty Mouse should have just as much power as the Super Psychic Megawizard, because otherwise is cheating. Pure, raw, unabashed, Cheating. Role-Playing battles' conclusions should solely be based around the writer's ability to adapt the character and his/her powers to win in the situation. Sure, the Megawizard can blow up the mouse in a single strike. That is- if he can HIT the mouse. You act as if the only thing that matters is 'How many magical abilities can they pull off?' You forget that all sorts of simple things play into battle. Size, Speed, Passion, Strength, the list goes on and on. They're all equally important, so just because Joe Schmoe can blow up an entire plane of existance and then fry your brain doesn't make Angsty Mouse dead before the battle begins, like the Tier System says it should be.

Of course, but I think what really lead to the person I'm talking about's "defeat" in the argument was the bias system of RP ref's in the forum it took place in. However, this is the lowdown of what happned. RPer 1: *Shoots ki at a person* Aethiest: Soul's don't exist, so neither doe's ki. You fail.
*Everyone disagrees with him*
Aeithest: ...Currupt humans. =|Yeah...>_>

Kellindel Judge could be revealed after he made his final judgment and speak through the leader before that point. Blah blah blah blah. Your retorts lack all substance, and I've already proven my point like three times.
Please stop talking.
