Another flash, and accompanied with it, from the darkness behind her, a kunai knife shot through the air towards her back. It if missed her, Seph was directly in it's way.

Though it didn't show on his face, Seph was greatly enjoying this spar. It felt like a good game of chess. Neither opponent needs to speak, their actions speak for them, locked in a battle of mind and wits. Two Ninjas that knew they were good, and didn't have to show it off.

Seph took advantage of Nyl's drawn attention. He flashed the strand of chakra once more before the blades of wind severed the connection, then darted forward, closing the gap between them in just over a second. With his right hand, Seph snapped his fingers. The heat became focused in his palm, then decreased in size. Much like the Big Bang theory, the amount of energy stored up in his palm exploded forth. Only instead of creating the universe, it created a shockwave that should disrupt the barrier around her.

His index and middle finger extended, Seph shot his left hand towards her, aiming his fingers for the center of Nyl's chest, just below the collar bone. As his hand approached her, that buzz in the back of Nyl's head would grow louder and louder. The moment of truth was at hand--he wasn't yet sure if his shock wave had reduced her barrier enough.

His fingers hit thin air, and Seph recovered with a handless cartwheel. He landed in a crouch, moving his left hand behind his back. While it wasn't a top concern at the time, the idea had crossed his mind that Nyl could take flight, and he had made a quick remedy should she decide to. He wasn't quick to forget the broken leg and ankle she had sustained while doing so a few nights before.

The crators subbed as pools of chakra he had been drawing from and dumping into since they had been created. He had been counting on Nyl using her ice-kunai to deflect at least one of his kunai, and when she did, the tag stored her chakra signature. Seph snapped his fingers again and the pools of chakra fired a ball of something straight up into the air.

The ball of chakra rocketed past Nyl, and at it's peak, disappeared into the storm clouds. The flash could be seen before the near-deafening roar. The chakra explosion sent a horizontal shockwave that pushed the clouds out in a perfect circle, leaving the sky clear around it. The winds would eventually push the storm back overhead, but for the time being--the next few moments, at least, they would be rain-free.

Immediately after the explosion, off in the distance, a few miles out in the forest in all directions, small impacts could be heard. The bursts of dirt that were sent up from the impacts created a rather wavy circular pattern.

As soon as Seph realized she was cutting through it, he teleported above Nyl. He began falling towards her, and as he neared her, the buzz would take up residence in the back of her head once again. He swung his left hand out and around towards her shoulder.

He teleported again: His only method of sustained flight. This time, he reappeared behind her, again swinging with his left hand, aimed instead for the wound the kunai had created in her back.

He had been trying to keep the visible effects of the chakra strand and teleportation hidden, but the strain was beginning to show through. He let himself fall into a crouch. Both chakra pools were drained, and he had been drawing directly from his own stores for soem time, now.

He waited, there on the ground, watching Nyl, waiting to see what she did. This was his technique, and he was very eager to see how effective it was.
