Stormtroopers help a little with deep strike or flanking, but they are not troops... if all elese fails he can just issue "Go!Go!Go!" order smile

yeah my usual tactic is to not seize more objectives but to rather blow the enemy away so they cant claim them

If possible get more men and turn the sniper squad into a full veterans squad, they benefit from better BS for starters. Also, but this is a personal preference, I'd put some heavy bolters into a dedicated heavy weapons squad. Plus by dropping extra armour you can shove more things in, unless you really like paying 20 points for something that works sometimes.

It's a pretty solid list, some minor things here and there that bother me, but it's your army. wink
Having fun using the chain of command?

You could always remove all extra armour from the vehicles, which should get you enough points for a Lord Commissar with some minor upgrades.

The chain of command takes some getting used to for sure. My first few battles with the new codex had me forget about it from time to time, resulting in me scribbling it in large letters on a piece of paper on my side of the board.
And yes, listen to Blodwynn, she's a real Imperial Guard veteran.

He is a good combatant in Guard terms and his Leadership special rule is most useful. He's just a bit to expensive for what he can do. Not that he's bad or anything, I'd rather take a Primaris Psyker over him for some odd reason. sweatdrop

Won my first ever match with my Daemonhunters/Guard today. whee
As for who's the better HQ, Lord Commissar is better for footslogging troops, where he can keep them in line and receiving orders, whereas the Primaris Psyker can put out utterly obscene amounts of firepower out to 24" from a moving Chimera, which is always fun.

Yup that Guard list just brought home the bacon against marines. Despite heavy barrages from his thunderfire cannon al my units held strong. The only unit to break was a Squad of Stormtroopers that was assaulted by a Dreadnought. But I changed it up just a little swapped all the extra armor on the tanks for a Master of Ordnance and a Bodyguard. And changed the Demolitions Veterans into Grenadiers. About turn 2 a guy saw me playing guard and was instantly amazed by the fact that my 3 tanks were holding half the board while my infantry seized the objective and allowed no marine near them.
I won 2 to 0 of 3 Objectives

The only thing that i like most about the guard is their leman russ which can move and shoot its ordnance and have a high front armour.

I've changed my mind about my veterans, I think I'll be going with camo cloaks and snipers instead of demolitions and meltaguns. Their Denison smocks will represent their camo cloak upgrade, maybe a bit cheap, but I don't feel like trying my hand at sculpting cloaks.
