Well, we just had an earthquake. 65 dead. "NZ's darkest day". 6.3 magnitude, buildings collapsing with people still inside them and such.

We're fine - we live in Auckland, in the North Island. Christchurch is in the South Island. They've had two earthquakes in the last 6 months. This one was just 5km below the surface.
The first one was 7.0 magnitude, but didn't kill anyone. This was 6.3, but because it was close to the surface - not to mention that it was during the day and in the CBD - it killed much more people than was ever expected.
