Okay Vintrict, I'm gonna need like... an illustration of what this stage looks like.

Because damn.

The image is a 2D linear stage.

The description makes it sound like a square stage in the middle of an audience, with another raised platform in the middle of that, sloped up towards that platform, with a band (or just a singer and DJ) in the middle. The stage says 50 feet wide, if I'm going off of any normal band on stage their setup is probably going to be a minimum of 15 feet or so.

So I guess we're supposed to do a 2D fight.

Well, I mean, I'd take the image with a grain of salt, but it's basically what he wanted to describe.

A big concert stage with a DJ platform on the "background" side of the stage, like in the image, where the musicians are playing at to stay out of the way, with the crowd in the front.

To be fair, a concert stage should really be longer than it is wide, because they're supposed to provide an area deep enough for the band and amps and lightning equipment, but long enough so that the band can address the entire breadth of the crowd. It would make more sense to be like, 50 ft long and 20 ft "deep", with the other 30 ft of the stage behind the amps and some curtains or something.

Which would make it a bit more linear, but I guess Vin wanted to avoid that, so.. the image and description clash a bit, but you can reconcile the basic concept with the measurements provided.

It sounds like it's supposed to be a flat platform around the DJ booth, where the band would have usually performed before getting moved into the DJ booth for their own safety. There's metal beams and what have you for lighting, and probably wiring and all that stuff.

I'm just wondering if there's any equipment on stage. Instruments, amp stacks in the back near the DJ booth, or whatever.

I could have reconciled the description with the image if it had been square. I've been on concert stages a few times, so I get how they look, but..

I've never seen one that was outright circular. I've seen one that had a circular "bulge" that let the singer get close to the crowd, and then long, rectangular "wings" where the guitarists and stuff would play, with the drummer (or DJ in this case) in the back. That's also fairly common for orchestral stages, where the composer is on the circular outcropping of sorts. But that's not what Vin's describing.

So I have no idea what this stage is supposed to look like other than DJ platform, crowd, and circular. Are there walls on the sides? Curtains? A backdrop wall or amp stack wall, or what?

The rounded rectangle thing is the DJ stage, with the second line being the backdrop wall that you typically see hiding the amps and what have you. The double lines are stairs.

This is the sort of "winged" stage you see with certain orchestral shows, or with some metal bands:



Again, pretty shitty, but there you have it. The second line is like.. curtains or a backdrop wall, like before.



And that's what I'm getting out of Vin's description.. but it leaves me with questions. The dotted line is sort of where I'd assume there to be a backdrop wall, but are there walls on the side? Is it some sort of strange open-air stage? Or what?
