"Eep!"
Lin wasn't that surprised that Serenity hugged them but still, it startled her when she wrapped her arms around them both.
"I guess we should also introduce them to Andarien... err.. if we can find him, maybe at dinner," Lin chuckled.

"Andarien?" Beren echoed the unfamiliar name.
Earendil grinned. "Our son. He very much likes to look at the mechanical workings of things, so he's been disappearing with Sylvar every day."
He glanced over at Lin. "You figure he'd learn it all and get bored eventually," he couldn't help but comment.

"I guess, I don't know much about that sort of thing so I don't know how much of there is to learn," Lin shrugged.
She was sure at least that wasn't the only thing they talked about, at least she would assume so.
"Maybe he asks questions about other things."

"As long as he's found people who speak Common Elvish, that wouldn't surprise me," Earendil said dryly.
"Well, I look forward to meeting him," Serenity said warmly.
"As do I," Beren added sincerely.
Earendil looked down at Lin. "Maybe we should see if we can find him," he suggested.

"They're probably somewhere where the wine is being made," Lin murmured, "Since from my understanding that's where most of the cogs and gears are."
She could be wrong though, pity there wasn't an easy way to-
"The water wheels, that's where they were going to go to again," Daemon's voice spoke behind her.
He looked up at the two elves, they had always come and visited so he was quite familiar with Beren and Serenity by this point. Daemon waved a hello.

Serenity grinned and waved at Daemon. "Hello again," she greeted him warmly. "Good to see you out of the sword again. Keeping out longer these days?"
It had been about a year since she and Beren had visited the plantation, so they were as yet unaware that Daemon had escaped his spiritual prison.
Serenity smiled again at Earendil and Lin. "Why don't you see if you can dig up my great-grandsons again, then?" she winked at them. "We`ll be here when you get back."
"Sounds good," Earendil agreed.

"Actually...." Daemon chuckled, "I'm free of the sword... so I've been spending time with everyone and recovering."
He paused and added, "I'll stay here with Miyuki, that is if Miyuki is interested," Daemon looked over at her.
Miyuki looked thoughtful, she was in the middle of something and she wanted to spend more time with Serenity and Beren, so she nodded at this.
"Okay!"

Earendil smiled. "We'll be back quickly then." And he took Lin's arm and started leading her towards the river.
"See you in a bit then," Serenity beamed at her grandson and his wife. Then she turned her attention back to Daemon. "Free of the sword," she mused. "And how does that feel?"

"I admit at first it was really.... strange," Daemon replied after having to think about the right word.
Strange probably didn't cover it, but he didn't have a better word at the moment.
"I spent decades not having to sleep, not having to eat and the suddenly having that and actual physical legs..."

"Come now, you've been out periodically for decades now," Serenity exclaimed, astonished. "Is it so different even from that?"
"Serenity," Beren spoke up, putting one hand on her arm, "I think you might be too used to being in different forms."

"Because I was still attached to the sword," Daemon explained, "So the limitations of having a body still wasn't there."
Not that he could consider them limitations, but that's what they technically were. He had to eat, sleep, wash, and do all the things one would expect when you were flesh and bone.
"Not that, that is a bad thing, it's nice to actually sleep."

"I know how that feels," Beren smiled gently. "Not for as long a time, perhaps, but death is a sort of ... bodiless state. Sleep is welcome, even if you don't need the physical rest. The mental or emotional rest is just as necessary."
Serenity smiled at him and took his hand. She had spoken with him at length about his death, and she knew what he was talking about.

"It is?" Miyuki pipped up.
She looked between all the grown ups, she heard the story of how her grandfather ended up in the sword, but it was still hard for her to imagine. Even though she was slowly understanding there was a lot of unknowns when it came to both worlds of magic and science.

Beren smiled at Miyuki. "Imagine that you never needed to sleep, because your body never got tired. Wouldn't you want to give your mind a rest once in a while? Just take some time and not think about anything? Especially if you have sad things to think about, because you're not with your loved ones?"
That was the worst part of dying, in his opinion. Knowing his loved ones were still alive, but not being able to be with them.

Miyuki didn't really have to think about it, the last part didn't sound like any fun at all. Though there were times she wished she wasn't tired, but she was sure that for them it wasn't as exciting as it sounded.
"Yea... I'd like to rest then," Miyuki nodded.
