Battle Contest! Aqua hasn't seen one of these for a long time, and I've never hosted one myself. But, at least we can try it out, right?
Okay, so here's how it works. The contest host (me) posts a pokemon and anyone who wants to participate will RP a battle against that pokemon. Wild pokemon only, no trainer battle. And the battle doesn't count towards evolutions. Whoever posts the best battle wins a prize. If there are a lot of entries there may be a second place prize as well.
Pokemon to battle: Banette (Happy 24-days-till-Halloween!) Time Limit: 3 hours (about 9:30 pm EDT / 6:30 pm PDT) Story: Not required, but still an option. Hint: OHKO is a sure way to lose the battle. Make it interesting. Prize: TBD
Question: "Can we catch it?" Answer: "No, this isn't a TRP."

"Can we catch it?" Ginji asked as he looked at Thard's announcement. Not that he needed one. But it'd still be pretty sweet.

Sammy, although a bit... unable to respond at the moment... acknowledged the announcement and twiddled her thumbs, thinking.

Ginji of Thunder "Can we catch it?" Ginji asked as he looked at Thard's announcement. Not that he needed one. But it'd still be pretty sweet. "What a good-looking question! But this isn't a TRP. I'll have to say 'no' this time." I was sure people might be disappointed by that, but any member can do the contest, while only the higher Tiers can catch wild evolved pokemon. It's only fair.

Flinging the blanket off of the couch, Ginji stands up on the couch, a victory position taken. "Then I shall be the first to defeat my enemy!" he said seriously with a fist raised in the air.
The blanket coming down from the sky, landing over his head and blinding him, he trips off the couch and lands on his head. "Ow. Maybe some more cold medicine would be good first."

Arekku comes into HQ and instantly spots the post, "Hmm, battle contest eh?" He thinks for a second, "Where can Banette be found...?" He thinks for a few more seconds and remembers a place, "I'll be back!"

Sammy sat down on the couch, still contemplating where she would go to look for Banette, or if she would even participate in the battle contest at all.

Arekku quickly rushed out of the HQ, remembering where to find a good Banette. He tossed Aro's pokemon and climbed onto the large Aerodactyl. "Alright, let's go to route 225..." He bit down on the inside of his cheek remembering that that area isn't exactly open to everyone, so hopefully the area wasn't busy today. Aro flew pretty fast so obviously they would make good time.
As they arrived, Arekku had Aro stay close to the ground so that they couldn't be seen all that well. The sun had finally set and the ghost pokemon would be coming out soon, "Banette, I would think wooded area but I'm not sure." Just that quick, Aro was hit by something that looked like a Shadow Ball. The two fell out of the sky, hitting the ground hard. Arekku managed to get up off the ground, but Aro wasn't so lucky, the Shadow Ball must've been pretty good. Aro hadn't fainted but was hurt pretty badly so he returned him and tossed Dessma from his pokeball, the Houndoom howled as he left his pokeball and the two waited to see if the pokemon would show up again.
Dessma attacked with a powerful Crunch attack. The Banette, had been grabbed by Dess' fangs and tossed in another direction. Another Shadow Ball had been hurled at Dessma but the attack seemed ineffective and just barely tickled Dess.
The foe Banette, got up again, shaking it's head and grinning gleefully as if to say, "this'll be a good battle." Banette seemed to look away and Dessma took the chance to try and strike but was cut off by a sharp Sucker Punch that knocked him off course. After a second of recooperating, Dessma whirled around and use Beat Up, images of all six of the pokemon in Arekku's team, each seemed to punch the foe Banette at diffrent times until it was Dess' turn. Banette seemed pretty weak after that attack, it took a rather large chunk of damage.
Dessma lunged at Banette yet again with another Crunch attack, hurting to opponent further, also seeming to take down Banette's Defense somewhat. Banette shook it's head and pulled up it's arms whirring four large Will-o-wisps and eventually shooting them at Dessma, Arekku guessed that it was hoping that it had Early Bird effect. It increased Dessma's power, and Dessma use a Fire Blast, finishing the opponent.
Arekku cheered, returned Dessma, allowed Trey out of his pokemon and Flew back to HQ.

Banette: A Love Poem
As the sun set over the darkness of the cities of war and peace A lone man walked the streets lit with the fire of the sunset Together with the darkness. Alone from the light
Blonde hair swish as black is illuminated by flying light Blue eyes fall upon the shadows of the day Sunshine is no more. Without a light to call his own
Luscious pink candies and precious gems Thrown away like wrapping paper on Christmas Glitter and sparkle with memories of glory
As red light fades black, blue eyes follow Through the darkness a light appears Red as the crimson of blood
Vengeful of past wrongs and for deeds yet to be done The red moon howls as the hollow dolls eyes spring to life Human crimson flows on the night of the void.
Fight or flight? The deep gash burns with the hatred of loneliness Is this truly what it's like to be alone? Or is there more to life? More to love?
The empty doll howls for the moon and self inflicted pain pulses with the night sky Darkness swirls around blue eyes, creeping tentacles take hold of innocence Bright light to battle as darkness is driven back. A hero emerges
Thunder roars as rain starts dripping from the heavens Soaking the darkness in a perpetual state of satire A roar, a howl, a cry for help, Thunder crashes down
The doll sobs in its agony as it regains its hate Down but not out Darkness encroaches, injuring the Thunder and draining its light
As the dark fades into gray, Black Thunder fades to red Light is illuminated by Blue Eyes as rain drops continually fall The Sky itself swells with the light of hope as the Earth trembles with joy
Darkness is no match for the power of the heart Even loneliness can not compare Perhaps a friendship should come of this?
Or perhaps destruction... Can anything good come of this war? Only wrath and destruction are evidence of the past.
Columns of Earth roar as blades of Sky fall from the Heavens Darkness pulses from between Hearts scorched and charred fighting for a will
A will to fight, a will to give in, a will towards the Light Or perhaps the Light is a way to Darkness Silver steel flies through the Sky, Red Eyes glowing in the Darkness of night
A cry for help rings through the pale streets Glowing orbs lighting the way to salvation Scared and alone with the glory of love
Are we truly alive? Or is it an illusion? Could it be?
Friendship glows in the arena as final crimson is spilled by Light A scent of roses lust through the air after the fall Is it false? Or could it be?
Forgiveness. The final journey of those in Darkness A pair travels the rugged road in the morning yellow Can they truly be friends?
History and memories coincide Memories repeat while history swings about on the axis of time Love was never truly lost.
Anguish is no more as the Darkness writhes in pain With a final roar before being extinguished by the Dawn. Together, we all walk off into the Sunrise.
