Ah...Dedrick doesn't learn from me so well.
@Syl - I am kind of jealous. I don't think I'd want to live in a city that big though.

Man i couldn't live in China. I would die, I'm highly allergic to seafood, and rice makes me ill. xd Japan would be hell. But I want to visit so much.

Ritza- Wow how scarey! Everyone was okay though right? How does your brother like China?
Panda- It has it's pros and cons. On the weekends things tend to be a bit crowded, so I usually walk to the grocery store durning the week. If it's raining forget about finding a taxi or a seat on a bus. On the other hand there are tons of things to do. There is tons of shopping and siteseeing so you are never bored! There is usually a lot within walking distance, we have an amusment park right across the street from us. We came here from a town of a few thousand so it took some getting used to.
Apocalypstix- Eh, you wouldn't die. I have only eaten seafood a couple times here. There are tons of Western/Western style resturants here. We acctually have 2 KFC's within walking distance, a Pizza Hut (the nicest Pizza Hut I have ever seen), McDonalds, Burger King, Subway. That's just the fast food. We even found a Cold Stone Creamery across town by the lake. You can find just about any style of food here, even street vendors but we haven't been that adventurous! smile
I'm excited we booked our flights and hotel for our trip to Beijing in two weeks!! Now to find the energy and strength to carry a child up and around the Great Wall!!! gonk

LOL They don't eat that much seafood in China. My dad is actually about to go visit in a few days (he has family in Hong Kong), pork was probably his big food growing up. Mm now I'm hungry!
I'm kinda stepping back on Gaia, too many nice things coming out, no real life money to spend, and no desire to push to make gold. It's a no win. xd

Ew Pork gross. ;-; Who would want to eat that? I can't even walk near the seafood department at our local stores anymore. Cross contamination is also my foe, I've eaten chicken and such before and gone into antphltic shock due to them being cooked in the same pan/oil. I've kinda given up on ratting out or going to some stores.
Be adventurous, please. I've heard that the stuff they pickle is amazing.
I'm starting to step away from Gaia too, I just... I'm dyslexic and I'm sick of people picking on me about me spelling/grammar. I mean, I think I type well enough now to understand. *grumbles* emo

I'm leaving for Japan on the 14th and I can't wait to eat genuine Japanese food again. heart My homestay mom in particular made this really good veggie miso soup (had like these long mushrooms and other things in it) in the morning on school days, and her lunches were really good too. So happy and excited. biggrin

@Syl - That's good. Are you looking forward to coming back to the states?
@Nikolita - Sounds like fun.
@Apoca - Where do you go that they cook the pork?
I love pork, but I spent a good deal of time living in the south.

Yes and no. I do miss home, family, friends, our cat. I won't miss the language barrier, the crowds, and being followed around and stared at all the time. I also won't miss the fact that Chinese(in general) don't have a concept of personal space and that it may not be okay with the parent to just pick up their child. It has happened a lot when we have gone out to eat. The employees will just snatch Ethan or Kaleb up and try walking away with them to show them off to other employees. It's very annoying and sometimes pretty scarey! Ug, and the beds are so hard here. I miss my huge soft pillow-top mattress!
On the other hand I like it here too. People are really nice and polite(besides the personal space thing) even when you aren't speaking the same language. People will hold the door for you and help out went it looks like you need it. Little stuff I think a lot of people back in the States forget about and don't do so much anymore. I love having tons of stuff to do. I have made friends with several other moms here and I will miss them. I hope to try and keep in contact with them.
I am not looking forward to the long flight or getting readjusted to the time difference. But we have until July until I have to worry about all that!!

Where did you original live at? Down here in the south people really don't seem to have personal space at all. xd And a lot of places we go will grab Zoie and myself sometimes and drag us over the whole place. xd

@Syl - You should live near me. <3
I'll hold the door open for you.
Strange people picking up my children would freak me out, but in the same sense it's kind of cute.
@Apocalypstix - Seriously. I've lived in the south and they're all about being in your space and hugging you and touching you. Thankfully I've never been there with children. rofl

Apoc, what pickle stuff are you talking about? I think you're thinking of kimchi, different area? There are lots of yummy dishes that are super easy to make in your own home.
I LOVE pork, it's delicious. Then again, I eat lots of things that people shudder at.
Syll, yeah I think that would get to me too. I'm very big and have issues period with personal space. Still, I think having a different experience and opportunity is just awesome.
Nik, sounds like fun have a great time!

Yes, I know what Scrapple is made out of.
For the most part I'll eat everything, but the squeak when it comes to a pig.
