I agree. I wasn't sure what would come of this movie but they did a surprisingly great job with it. Kevin Bacon made a credible villain and Emma was...well, Emma! lol

I saw that Wolverine has a very blunt cameo in this movie.
Is it actually there? I'm planning on checking it out when I get to Hawaii.

I came in here because I feel like bitching about these other "schools of comic RP" on Gaia. Every little thing, they're like "oh, shut down the account". I don't have an active Clark in "their world" so they say "oh, your Lois is useless. You should shut it down, sell off the stuff and give to me or your other accounts" I mention that all the RPers that try to play with Felicia are weirdos and they're like "oh, why bother. Shut the account down and sell off the stuff" What's the matter with, I don't know, leaving your account as it is? So what if it's not actively RPing. Is it really a bad thing for it to sit there as it is?
They're also doing a "summer event" in one of their guilds and it's the most annoying thing. It's basically doing "Flashpoint". Everyone's supposed to "modify their character" That's it. No structure, just "******** up your character until September" as far as I can tell. Everyone there has been MOSTLY nice to me, I just don't like how they run their guilds. There are rules for everything. For example, in an RP, you're not allowed to go OOC in brackets/parentheses to correct or point something out. Only crew can do that. Also, if you say you don't like something about the guild in your status, they send you a PM chastising you about it. If they catch you in any "drama" they ban you, regardless of it's taking place in their guild. I made some comment about how all their "plots" always revolve around the same person and I get this attitude back about how that's because they're the only people that get off their asses to RP. There is no such thing as casual RP. Every RP is OMG SERIOUS BUSINESS. There is no "Bookstore" or "Bar" it's always "the fate of the world is riding on this" or Furious getting targeted or some such thing. Their guild might be more active if there were more casual RPs and less subforums. Of course, you can't make suggestions because they will just tell you how wrong you are and that the 10 satellite guilds (or however many there are) and the subs are necessary.
I even got a post deleted once there because my response wasn't "Dinah enough". I politely told Furious that he had a lot of nerve to talk saying as his account was made up, so "in character" for him was whatever the hell he wanted. If he can make up a Lantern with the first name of Furious that's a super billionare and basically a Gary Stu, I can have a Dinah that's still with Ollie (in their guild universe anyways, which I barely interact in). Everyone there holds Furious up on a pedestal and he's considered to be this "god of RP" and he has say on everything. I can't figure it out. I don't find his RP skill all that mind blowing (not saying he's bad or anything )and he randomly capitalizes words all through his posts for no reason and it drives me batshit insane. LIke I said, they are mostly nice, I just don't see things exactly as they do when it comes to guilds and RP's. They tell me "you'll fit in if you put yourself out there and RP" but that's impossible when every RP is this long complicated storyarc about saving the world and he gets after you for not being canon or not being "dinah enough"/
Whew, needed to rant. That's been building for a while

I suppose I could get in trouble for saying this, but how not-having-a-life do you have to be to run 10 rp guilds at once? I have a full-time job and a boyfriend and I can't imagine going around deleting all of you guys' posts, stalking you in other guilds, bothering you to post over PM AND constantly figuring out ways to keep the formula of 'bad guy posts plan, good guys go and stop them' fresh.
I mean, wow.

Well, to be honest, the guilds aren't all that active. My opinion is that it's because with all those guilds and a bazillion subforums, they're spreading out their active RP'ers. You can post in the subforums, sure.. but then it falls on deaf ears because who notices that you posted in one sub out of 10? They put out a list of new rules a few months ago and honestly, I think it stifles creativity, but that's just me.

Here are the aforementioned "rules". Quote: NEW GUILD RULES 1.Mandatory Sign-In List : This list will appear at random. You will be given ample time to sign this list. You must check in by posting that you are still active. If you sign in to the Excused Absence forum instead,you must have a legitimate reason. If I see that you are still active on Gaia (Role playing) and you have not posted in the guild. I shall delete your name from the excused absence list and You may be banned. 2.Accepting New Members: No One is allowed in this Guild if they are NOT a member of one of the Satellite guilds listed on the front page. This guild does not accept Join Requests. However in special cases, The Guild Captain reserves the right to allow new people to join on special occasions . If any member wishes to recommend a new member to this guild. YOU MUST INFORM THE GUILD CAPTAIN! Guild Captain will then determine if recommended person is allowed in this guild. 3.No O.O.C posts during role plays : If you are not a member of this guild's crew. Only Moderators Or creator of said role play is allowed to question a members actions or correct a members actions during a role play.Only the Guild Captain is allowed to re-edit or delete a post if felt that said post is not up to standards. 4.Mule Accounts: Mule/Alternate accounts should be limited to only 4 at a time. If You do have more than 4 accounts in this guild. It is Your responsibility to keep those accounts active! If you fail to post to Mandatory sign in's Or fail to keep Mule accounts active. Those accounts will be banned after a warning PM has been sent to those accounts. 5. Playing Hero and Villain Accounts: I really don't have a problem with people having Hero and Villain avatars as I did in the past. All I ask is that You know how to balance both accounts and play fair not trying to increase it for one side or the other. In role plays it is up to the individual to Outwit his opponent. Not for you to create a Hero account just so you can see what is going on in The Gaian Justice League of America guild, and seeing what the guild is planning when creating tactics in dealing with Villain organizations in a role play..Or Vice Versa!! If I find that You have broken this Rule, You will Be Banned!! 6. If You switch from being a Hero to Villain or Vice Versa..You must inform the guild Captain that you have made that switch. Just send me a pm and that will be that. I will keep this knowledge to myself. Failure to do so will result in that account being banned from this guild. If you purchase an account from someone else, You must inform the guild Captain, or that account will be banned! 7. Constant Changing of Characters : Is Frowned Upon and will not be allowed anymore! If you constantly change your avatar every week and use up account names of popular characters. You will be Banned from this Guild, and Not be allowed to return! We need serious role players and not just weekend role players who change their avatar on a whim and never use them correctly.Many characters have been ruined by this action. This causes unnecessary disruptions to role plays, and those Characters could be used by someone who is serious about role playing with said character. These people know who they are and it should be stop immediately! 8. Not Having Key Avatars Needed For Role Plays: You will be allowed to create a Tek Tek of a Character that is needed for a Role Play, and You MUST play that Avatar as they are presented as cannon in the comics. So if You need for instance Superman for a storyline, You can use that character to move your rp along, But You must play him as he would be played in comics. 9. Skilled Rp'ers VS. Novice Rp'ers : If it is proven that a new member's rp skills are not as advance as the more skilled rp'ers. A Mentor ship will be formed with the novice rp'er. The Novice will be mentored in role playing by a more advanced rp'er and must show improvement over some time. Failure to show improvement will result in that novice member being removed from this guild. 10.Guild members are only allowed to participate in 3 role play story lines at a time. 11. Crew Positions from now on must be EARNED! That means by being Active and showing that you have the maturity and common sense to be able to handle being on the crew. If you have more than one account on the crew, One must be demoted. 12. When posting in a role play, all members must first get the approval of role play creator before joining in on any role play created. These Rules are subject to be changed at any time As time goes on, more rules may be created to deal with future guild issues "IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THESE RULES. SEND PM TO THE GUILD CAPTAIN! DO NOT POST A QUESTION IN HERE!!! THIS TOPIC IS TO REMAIN LOCKED!!!"

I admit, I'm pretty a**l about my rps, and I've come to accept that this guild isn't, which I'm fine with. So I suit my Barton Town rps to my needs.
I like rules, set times on rps, and people to be active and post in a timely enough manner. (This isn't to say I badger people to post, and I totally understand that real life comes first.)
I'm pretty sure I've even been a d**k to people unintentionally because I'm so rp nerdy.
But, even I am not this uptight about a rp. That's crazy.

OFF TOPIC FROM OUR CURRENT RANT BUT I HAVE TO SHARE:
Anyway, about three weeks ago I was laid off from my job. I didn't tell too many people because I don't like to throw pity parties.
I mention it now though because I got another job today for the fall, and I think it might very well be better than my current job.
I teach Special Ed, so I won't be starting there until the fall, but I am excite.
So, I just wanted to share the good news since I don't mind throwing non-pity parties. :}
