My connection's being stupid tonight.
It works fine for a minute, then lags all to Hell. Then it's fine, then lags some more.
I can't even do the games like this because it randomly drops.

Anyway. DreamWorks won the bidding war over Ghost in the Shell and seems to be moving right along. Apparently Steven Spielberg himself is taking a keen interest in the movie (I'm betting he'll direct it).
That can only be good news, we get someone to work on it who has done films based in Japan, cyberpunk, dystopia, combat, and science fiction. The only way this can suck now is if the script and casting sucks.

Of course, Spielburg is also working on that Indy 4 movie.
I think i'll base his capabilities on how bad that one is, and then consider how much worse it'll be with actual material behind something like GitS.

It's like going into a fight unarmed against the world boxing champion. It's going to be painful, so the best you can do is toss off a witty one liner before the EMT arrives.

Apparently they got a good screenwriter for GiTS from the little research I've dug up. The guy even did some work for a Crime Investigation Series. To do a good Ghost in the Shell film, you gotta have the CSI throw your brain for a loop twists.
