When I got my back up against the wall! Don't need no one to rescue me! 90 Well it is a good game, so I suppose some people have stuck around.
I remember in one game where Japan fell under a PU with the Oirat Horde. Made a good balance to keep Ming in line.
'Cause I ain't waiting up for no miracle! Yeah, tonight I'm running free!

92 If Ming ends up inheriting the Mongol Khanate, it would be tricky if the Temples faction became dominant. This is because they'll send tons of missionaries. 3nodding

When I got my back up against the wall! Don't need no one to rescue me! 94 Then you'd get a giant Asian blob to deal with.
What kind of decision are you making?

96 That makes for a good boss. biggrin
I'm trying to make sure that Khmer revives their empire. I'm also planning to make a similar one for Taungu so that it can revive the Burmese Empire.
As far as governments go, I'm thinking of making a new one so that even the Southeast Asian kingdoms (such as Brunei) can have their very own trade league. 3nodding

When I got my back up against the wall! Don't need no one to rescue me! 98 You're going to have a lot of blobs then. razz
I don't remember how trade leagues work. Don't you just have to be a merchant republic?

Ming is quite powerful as a blob, so I'll test my skills against it. biggrin
From what I have researched, trade republics were in the West. But, there weren't any trade republics in Asia.

When I got my back up against the wall! Don't need no one to rescue me! 50 Imagine Ming unrestrained by the factions. surprised
Maybe there's a way to remove the restriction that only allows Europeans to use that form of government. confused

52 I modded Ming so that at the 1400's, it gets artillery and musketeers. biggrin
Anyone can theoretically do it in-game. It's just that historically speaking, some kingdoms in Southeast Asia profited from a lot of trade in a somewhat similar manner as the Europeans did with their merchant republics. Hence, I'm giving the Southeast Asian kingdoms a chance to go toe-to-toe with the Indians, the Japanese and the Chinese in terms of trade. I can do that by making a new form of government which synchronizes monarchies with trade leagues. 3nodding

When I got my back up against the wall! Don't need no one to rescue me! 54 Don't all nations get those or did EUIII not allow Asian nations to use artillery or gunpowder units?
Too bad you're not playing EUIV. Any nation can become a major trading power with the right ideas.

56 Theoretically, all nations can get those at the right land tech levels. In practice, it depends on the tech group. I modded Ming's land tech level from 3 to 18 through save-game editing. 3nodding
Agreed.
I find it weird that there's only two Filipino nations by EU4. surprised

When I got my back up against the wall! Don't need no one to rescue me! 60 It's been so long since I've played EUIII that I don't even remember most of the game mechanics. sweatdrop
There are Filipino nations? I thought the Philippines were just colonizable land during EUIII. surprised

62 In EU3, there's Sulu. In EU4, there's Sulu and Maguindanao. In Asian history, there were quite a few polities in the Philippines before the Spanish colonization.
