Kuro Okami

Kuro surveyed her surroundings once she had gotten to the river, it wasn't hard to tell she wasn't alone with the shouting and tumbeling around. The river was rough the current looked strong, crossing here would be a waste of needed energy and she needed to conserve as much as possible.

She turned on her heel to leave.

The river was peacefully flowing, until Misukai broke the surface with another splash. She was slightly further down stream then where she fell in, and all she could do was flail around like an idiot. "Dawn!" This was the only thing she could shout before she was sweapt away with the current. It was times like these she really wish she knew how to swim, since drowning didn't sound all that fun at the moment.

"Misu!!" Dawn called out as he spotted her breaking the surface of the water and splashing around helplessly. "Damn!" Dawn took off running towards Misu, but not following her along the river's bank as one might expect. No, he actually seemed to run over the water, leaving small ripples in the current as he closed with the drowning girl. As he came up on top of her he went down on one knee on top of the water and grabbed her by her shirt collar, hoisting her upper body up out of the water and supporting her there with his other arm. He took a deep breath, fortifying his concentration and mental state as he crouched on top of the water, giving Misu a small smile. "You okay?" he asked softly, having momentarily rescued her from the river....

Misukai felt the need for air as the river pinned her down, and a small part of herself was wondering again. 'Am I going to die?' At this thought she was struck with an unimaginable fear, not being ready to die just yet. However, that fear was momentarily forgotten as someone pulled her out of the water, being saved by none other than Dawn. Normaly, she would have replied to his question with something witty, or mabey just 'I am now.' But at the moment she was a bit too shaken up to say anthing, all she could do was cling to him for dear life, like a child who just had a nightmare and was afraid it would come back to haunt him.

Taking her silence and her shaking as a sign that she was momentarily in a state of shock, Dawn picked her up in his arms and stood up, his feet planted on top of the river's surface. He would then slowly walk over to the shore, Misu clinging to him in his arms as they finally came back onto solid ground. Dawn would continue walking for a few feet, putting a decent gap between them and the water before gently setting Misu down, holding her still so that he could help support her. Once again, he asked softly, "You okay?"

Relinth would pause as Rose flung herself around him allowing her to cling on for as long as she wanted. He would hold her with one arm for a moment looking off in the distance toward the Citadel still. He would only turn back to Rose after she asked him to take her with him to where he was going. This request got a quick response from him with a shake of his head. He would put his hands on her arms looking into her eyes now

"Listen to me... You don't want to follow me everwhere I go so it's just better for you if you trust me and wait for me. I've got someone to watch my back, I'll be fine."

She was almost clinging to him in despration, afraid to let him go, afraid if she did what would happen to him. There was one other reason why she came here, it kept running through her mind. She knew he'd just dismiss it as a bad dream, if she did. She slowly pulled back to look up into his blue eyes with her own. Knowing he was right, did not make the pain any easier. Saddness and hurt clouded her eyes as she gazed up into his. Rosie's tail flickered slightly behind her as Naito slowly strutted towards them. "I-I understand, Father. Where should I meet you at then? When? What should I do if you don't.." She didn't finish her last question, afraid to let the words be spoken out loud. She knew she was asking him a lot of questions, but she still had more she wanted to ask, she'd wait until later to ask them of him. If there was a later for them.

Misukai now had another fear to add to her list, Potamophobia. Though she didn't act like it, she was infact afraid of many different things. But she remembered one time that seemed much worse then anything else.

It was late one night, and the rain that had just started was already turning into a storm. Misukai, who was no older then seven, hid in her closet being absolutely terrified. She sat curled up in a ball, closing her eyes tight and wishing she was somewhere else. But it never worked since the rolling tunder would keep her in reality and she would flinch at every lightning strike...

Before Misukai had time to think about the rest of her memory, she was brought back to reality by Dawns voice. She looked up at him slightly dazed, only nodding a little in response. As a breeze past by them she shivered a bit, this time from cold instead of fear. And althought she seemed to be calmed down from the incident, she still held on to Dawn not quite sure if she wanted to let go yet. "Gomen. Gomen. Gomen..." She just kept repeating this in apologies for the whole ordeal, her voice barely above a whisper.

Dawn would merely smile softly at this, holding her gently as they stood there for a moment. "You have nothing to be sorry for. I'm sorry for running off like that and leaving you. Now please stop apologizing, and let's find someplace warm to stay, alright?" he asked softly, doing his best to calm her down and comfort her. He would ask her what had happened to the boy they were with after she was in better condition. For now, the best thing to do would be find her a place to rest....

Dawn had a way of comforting her and making her feel safe, so she smiled a little and nodded in response. Once again she dazed off into her memories...

As the little girl trembled in the dark, tears pricking her eyes, she heard soft footsteps coming towards her. The closet door opened and Misukai looked up to see her ten year old sister smiling and offering her a hand. She hesitantly took her sisters hand and was pulled into a tight hug, her sister just stroking her hair and telling her that she was safe.

Dawn gave her one last reassuring smile before slowly beginning to lead her away from the river and back towards the inn he had been staying at. There Misu would be able to rest and recover from her ordeal and they could catch up on what had happened. He thought absentmindedly about what they should do afterwards before shaking it off, once more refocusing his attention on the task at hand. Misu and Dawn would slowly fade into the forest as the moved away from the river, heading towards a brief respite from their recent experiences.....

Relinth would continue to look down at his daughter. She clearly knew that his plan was not exactly a safe one and it was beyond Relinth to lie to her. He would shrug lightly to her last question looking up and away from her toward the night sky. He would grab her hands in his holding them gently for a second looking back down at her before speaking.

"What are you supposed to do without me if I don't return? You are to carry on our tradition... be honorable, strong, be a leader for those whom cannot help themselves. Don't worry about me so much, I'm going to be fine no matter what. The rest of these innocents shouldn't have to suffer the loses you and I might..."

Feeling the warmth of his hands in her own, a tear slowly ran down her face before she gently squeezed his hands. Listening to him, she nodded more to herself then to him. Honor was one of Relly's biggest mottos, and something she had spit upon in her past. Now that she was older and more mature, she knew better and understood better of what is needed and requried from her, for being a Thares. "I-I understand, Father. I just...I don't wanna lose you once again, I don't know if I can handle the pain of losing yet someone else I hold dear to my heart. But I..I can and will try to do as you ask of me though." She smiled sadly, trying to looking his old blue eyes. Her ears laid down on the top of her head slightly as she attempted to fight the tears. She sighed quietly, thinking and making sure she asked him for the most part the questions that could not wait. "I...I want you to be around more often, when you return, can you attempt that?" Rosie wasn't trying to make him feel worse about himself and how he wasn't ever around, she just wanted to make sure she could enjoy her father while she still had him.

Knux given no help at all started to flow down stream. He started to pick up speed as he started to go through some rapids, the roots of the trees were growing throughout the river and trying to grab one was near impossible. He wanted to kill the girl he saw at the river bank. He then stopped daydreaming and remembered the peril that now faced him. He started to wonder if this would end like one of those movies where the waterfall comes, and then started to wonder what the three Indianna Jones movies were called. As he finally recalled the Temple of Doom he started to once again come out of his little dream world right as he was smacked over the head by a tree root and then passed out.

Relinth would look at Rose with a slightly sad looking hoping that she could understand that he had to perform this duty of his to his unknown master. Maybe it was simple that Honor was his master. Rel would lightly brush her cheek with the back of his hand taking a small step back from her looking her over. He would listen and take a moment to respond, obviously he had to think about what he would say.

"I can't promise you that I'm not going to die... You know that I'm a tough old warrior though so if I do die it will be my destiny. You can't dwell upon these things sweetie... When I get back I'll spend more time with you and I'll try to help you find Katsu or Sylvr... I have to go."

He would speak those final few words to her looking a bit saddened by the whole ordeal. He would take a small bow before her. He would then turn around and begin to walk away.
