Lt. Brookman Kaori Kapoigne Lt. Brookman Holy crap this box of Space Wolves is awesome. Holy crap this codex of Space Wolves is also awesome. I smell tartan influence.. ninja No, this is of own volition. Let's just say that I got the box to sate my curiosity and to build myself a special custom Death Watch marine for when the Death Watch game comes out next year. wink Death Watch game? OH s**t, did you THAT game? Did you really get it? eek

Fantasy Flight Games is doing a 40k RPG with the Death Watch as the main subject, at least I think that's what Mel is hinting at.

now I still have 2 Grey Hunter Packs, a land speeder typhoon, 3 more wolf guard terminators, Bjorn the Fell-Handed, and Njal the Storm Caller
I think ive managed to amass quite a bit in a short time
now lets talk strategy with this list in mind here. My focus will be to get the hard hitters into assault. using the pred dred and long fang to provide some stand off against enemy armor and or other baddies.
outting the land raider in the lead with canis following behind seems solid and prehaps flanking with the rhinos ill use the land speeder kind of an annoyance to hopefully turn useful fire away from the big boys.

Yea, but 50 base points for a something to attract fire? Someone like me (Rhinos/Razorback force backed by Predators and a Land Raider) would be ignoring the Speeder to Tank Shock your troops and/or attempt to pop your transports. I'd burn the Speeder into extra gear, but I'm a mechanized commander, not a Space Wolf.
Or I'd use it as a flanker. And use more then one in that case. Speedy things break lines easier then troops, and hit the enemy from multiple angles is usually a good thing.

and thats where it become and annoyance because your rush forward is followed by getting shot up the arse by heavy bolter. I would have put a Multi-Melta on it but I don't have the part. but 3 S5 Shots against 10 armor is still something I wouldn't want to give up

True, but that's still a pretty small chance (16.6%, ignoring the 'to hit' roll) to immobilize or do worse to an A10 vechicle. I'd still ignore the thing at first, as it's not a scoring unit either. I'm not that great with Fast Attack units, though. (My first army was Necrons. To say they are slow is an understatement at times)

well I cant take a Leman Russ like I want to so I gotta have something. Really later on ill take out some of the big names and drop in more models for their price.
Grimnar would give me a Grey Hunter pack in a razorback.

well I took it out and went up against bugs. Here I wish I had definitely taken more shooty packs. But I sent out Grimnar in his land Raider to face the bulk of the horde and claim the object that was most in the open. While Lukas with his pack and the other blood claw pack moved to claim the second. The Predator made easy work of the Carnifex on the right as the Genestealer approached and charged it. they only managed to glance and stun the crew. The next turn Lukas and his pack dismounted and assualted the offending genestealers clearing them from the objective. Meanwhile logan in his land raider continued to fire on Genestealer approaching from the center. Losing the Land raider to a Carnifex Logan Dismounted and charged into him slaying the foul beast. Then Canis Wolfborn who had been using the landraider to cover his advance charger on the nearest genestealer brood. Felling them all in single combat. But the deadly bio weapons of the hive tyrant bore down on Logan and then Canis forcing their withdraw. With the remainder of the Space Wolf Forces under to bring their weapons to Bear on the Tyranids the were force to order a full evacuation. Though saving the crew of the downed landspeeder they were unable to recover the Dreadnought nor push back the Tyranids to their foul lairs.
