After that everything went by in a blurr. The next thing Ivypaw knew she was sprawled out on the ground, exhaused. A slow and tired sigh escaped her but she refused to sleep. Not now. Hauntednight The living nightmare ~=============================================~ [Hauntednight let out an amused purr at his mate's question.] "It wasn't easy...that turkey knocked both Shadow and I down." [Hauntednight licked at his soar paws and continued.] "But while Shadow distracted it, I pounced on it's back and gave it the killing bite!" [Hauntednight ate his share of the turkey in hungry gulps, he had forgotten the last time he ate.] "Tell me Pebbleheart, how do you think Siegekit and Shadekit got themselves into a fight like that? Will they ever learn?" ~=============================================~

F o r what is it to die, but to stand in the sun..._____________________________[Galestar opened an ice blue eye, peering into the morning. He rose and stretched, letting out a massive yawn. His fur was rumpled and ruffled, so he groomed it a bit until it was neater than before, though still a bit ruffled. He padded out of his den and peered at his clan, drowsiness making his feet heavy.
He padded down and settled on his haunches, mentally preparing himself as he did every morning for the duties ahead. He silently planned in his mind, mapping out courses of actions and necessary precautions, as well as more long-term needs and backup plans for possible disasters. His ears flicked as his eyes scanned his Clan, and his whiskers twitched from time to time.
Avalon rose, fluffing her wings a bit, and waddled over to Galestar, a friendly look on her face. She tucked herself and nestled beside him, lowering her head a lot so she could talk to him as close as possible. Even then, her head was so high of the ground that Galestar had to look up to talk with her.]
"Hello my son," she chirped cheerfully. "How did you sleep?"
"Like a rock," he purred proudly. "Things haven't changed, I see," she commented in reply.
[Galestar chuckled. He shifted a bit, getting more comfortable.]
"How are things with your flock?" he asked politely.
"All is well, mostly," she replied. "Caw has disappeared again, though she usually returns by now...I do not know where she has crept off to." Avalon let out a sigh and added, "She hasn't been the same since the Battle of Split Wings."
[Galestar nodded, his eyes sympathetic.]
Despite the fact that her son knew the story, Avalon began to recite it softly: "That day was like no other. We had very solid evidence that Talon had been hunting cats again, despite my efforts to stop it. He was not obeying my rules and wanted to take charge of my flock. He was a tyrant and constantly argued with me over senseless things. Yet, despite all his outward animosity towards me, he wanted to be my mate and always tried to court me. I did not accept, of course...thus he had deep hatred and shame for me, coupled with his love. He made me feel great disdain and displeasure...it was apalling...but I never gave up on him. Even now, I believe there is some good hidden in that twisted heart of his. That was the day he could take no more. I had not realized what a following he had gathered among my flock. That was the day he tried to overthrow my flock...and I learned later that he was planning to force me to be his mate once he took over my flock. He was willing to kill his bretheren, all for greed and power. He would have made a great leader, yes, but his heart was not in the right place...so he rebelled. While me and a few of my closest friends traveled here to the Clans to meet with you again-the day I met your apprentice- he started his assault. When we returnd, we found bloodshed. We did not knwo who to fight...how could we? Those we loved were pinned against us. We could not decipher friend from foe, since those we had once trusted were now fighting us. However, we managed somehow. While my best fighters kept them off, I was able to defeat Talon in battle...yet I could not kill him. I could not do it. I had grown up with him, and he had once been my closest friend. So I banished him and his ragtag band of followers. He took some bird as his new mate and they set off...yet how could I ever have seen what a menace he would be? He's too much of a great leader. Even in the barren canyons, his flock is making steady progress and growing larger. We cannot let our fledgelings travel too far alone, or his band of vagabonds will surely kill and torture the poor things. Even now, I cannot kill him. All of this began simply because I ordered everyone to leave at least the Clans alone...and they saw my abstemious new diet (containing no cat-meat whatsoever, on my honor I swear) apalling. I did not realize how deeply insulted some of my own flockmates were... And now he has teamed up with these Star Slayers you speak of. It seems as if it is falling apart. Titan, my closest friend, warns me that if this goes on any longer unattended to, Talon will surely be the end of us.. And he's right. But I just cannot kill him...it's getting harder to, in the end..."
[Galestar nodded as her story ended.]
"You have sacrificed so much for us...we are truly grateful," he whispered, his eyes shining with grief and love. [His mother chuckled, and they sat, staring at the Clan that meant so much to them both.] _____________________________...and melt in the w i n d ?

Patience is the companion of wisdom
Frostclaw
[Frostclaw's eyes fluttered open at the sound of paw-steps. Lifting her head slightly, Frostclaw looked around camp from her spot by Galestar's den, it seemed Galestar had finally awoken. Frostclaw stretched her legs out in front of her while pushing herself to a standing position.]
[Frostclaw was genuinely happy to hear that her mate had a deep sleep. It was the type the whole clan needed after that ordeal. slowly Frostclaw started to creep forward until she was just a tail length from the pair. The story that Avalon launched into was interesting and Frostclaw listened closely. She had never heard of how Eagles lived, and realized that it wasn't much different from their own way of living.]
"If I may." Frostclaw said, taking another step forward, "It seems that your Flock has been through a great ordeal. But I believe what you did was the right thing to do. To kill a friend...it would prove senseless. As long as Talon lives...there is still hope for him, even if just a sliver."

F o r what is it to die, but to stand in the sun..._____________________________[Avalon turned to Frostclaw, her eyes a bit surprised. She let out an approving huff, rustling her feathers a bit.]
"That is what I have said, and believe," she cooed softly. "However, it is obvious that his actions are not going to cease. His heart has fallen...I find that there is little hope to undoing the corruption the Star Slayers have inflicted. In fact, since he became involved with them, he has gotten worse. He was relatively silent towards us before, but now...he and his flock attack relentlessly upon ours. It has almost been as if they have lighted a small ember inside him that has developed into a roaring fire..."
"...and that is how your flockmates see it," Galestar finished for her. "But I understand how you feel. You feel as if there is still hope to rise from the ashes of his heart...still life hidden under the destruction that is still waiting to emerge."
[Avalon turned her face to her son, her brown eyes a bit shocked as well as impressed. The other eagles, who were listening in, ruffled their feathers a bit embarrassedly. She shot them an accusatory I-told-you-so glance, and they looked away guiltily. Only Blizzard kept her gaze, her eyes exposing that she had agreed with Avalon all along. Blizzard glanced at Titan haughtily, and he looked away with frustration and anxiety.]
Turning back to Galestar, Avalon said, "Yes. Exactly. You and your mate seem to agree with me. However, most of my flock does not seem to want to take the chance of anything backfiring or going wrong, and as a leader, one has to listen to her own subjects...especially when they mean the world to her..."
[Avalon's eyes achieved a far-off look, pain and indecision crossing them. A bird's face was usually hard and rough, just like the environment surrounding them; but their eyes were always the gateways to their souls. An ignorant cat would have seen the powerful look in her eyes as bloodlust and rage; but a cat who has been around birds long enough, or just spiritually open, could see the true emotion in the bird's gaze.
Galestar stood and bumped his head on her. Where once, a long time ago, this exchange had been awkward for the giant bird, she opened her wing with ease and allowed him to nuzzle her chest a bit contentedly. Galestar purred loudly and settled near his mother's chest. She rested her large wing gently on top of him, her thick feathers shielding him from the cold.
She opened her other wing, her eyes friendly, in invitation to Frostclaw to join the embrace.]
(( Avalon has a strange love for kitties. ;3;
Avalon: *opens wings* come here, little kittens! Who wants a hug?! <33
Kitties: EEEK *run away*
Avalon: crying )) _____________________________...and melt in the w i n d ?

Patience is the companion of wisdom
Frostclaw
[Frostclaw followed Avalon's gaze to each of the eagles within earshot. Only one stayed strong under Avalon's gaze. Now, taking a good look at each bird, Frostclaw realized just how small the camp seemed and just how vulnerable they were to other species.]
[Frostclaw looked to her side. She could see Avalon's wing propped slightly open, and Galestar's pelt beneath it. When the gesture was extended to her she kneaded the ground for a moment. She didn't quite know what to do with the offer. After only a moment more of hesitation, she started to pad forward. She ducked into the warmth of the underside of Avalon's wing and snuggled up closely to the large bird.

She swiped her tounge over her mouth, wishing she had eaten before she fell asleep.] Next time, make it to the apprentice's den. [Valorkit's mind awoke by the small streams of sunlight which peeked through the nursery's roof. A small yawn escaped the kit's tiny mouth before she snuggled in closer to the mass which radiated heat. Her brows furrowed as she tried to remember what the warm lump she was snuggling against was. She turned her cold nose and pressed it against the fur and inhaled. It smelled familiar, The softness of the fur tickled her nose. Her thought process stopped dead. She believed herself to realizing the ide- "Achheewwhh!!..." The squeaky sneeze was thankfully turned away from the mass she now remembered as Shadekit. She blinked quickly, attempting to get the sleep from her eyes before she nuzzled her face against Shadekit's flank, to relax him if her sneeze startled him awake.]

(CARETAKER!!! i won't bite...) -Birdkit-
I was given a second chance I'm not sure I deserved.
I flicked my ears as I heard someone sneeze. Siegekit had been pulled away by Shadekit. He didnt even apologise... maybe he doesnt care... I sighed, my gaze lowered to my paws. I got up and slowly dragged my tiny moss bed to the back of the nursery. I curled up in the corner, my eyes in tiny slits.

Pebbleheart “Nobody trips over mountains. It is the small pebble that causes you to stumble."
_________________________________________________________ [Pebbleheart giggled with laughter, feeling that they're young mates once again, going on their small dates. Pebbleheart took a bite of the turkey, her eye lids close due to the delicious taste.] "This is delicious! We can feed the whole clan with this fat bird!" Pebbleheart mewed in amazement. "All that fighting was worth it.." Pebbleheart mrrowed with laughter as she lifted her sandy head. [Her soft green gaze then locked with Hauntednight's golden onces, desperately trying to find an answer to his question. Pebbleheart let out a small sigh as she glanced at the nursery.] "Well they're both stuck together for now." she muttered. "This will help them with their team work on finishing tasks together, I just hope it works..." Pebbleheart added. [Her green gaze then softened more as she gazed up at her mate with such sad eyes.] "Oh Hauntednight, what if they don't get along?" Pebbleheart asked with worry. _________________________________________________________
"Pass all the pebbles in your path and you will find you have crossed the mountain.” ] Above the cloud with its shadow is the star with its light.
_______________________________________________________ [Shadow's back ached, growling very silently to himself.] "That turkey is so fat..." he growled. [He then winced in pain as he tried licking the blood from the scar on his back. With struggle, he decided to push that thought away, and rush over to his beautiful mate in the nursery. As he came near to the nursery, he slowed his pace and pushed his head through the entrance. He smiled warmly as he saw the beautiful appearance of his mate. Shadow pressed his head against hers, taking in her attracting scent. He then purred loudly and tried hiding his scar, only concerned for his mate.] "Hello my love.." Shadow purred as he gave Snowcherry a warm blue gaze. "How're are you feeling with the kits? If your hungry, me and Hauntednight caught a turkey.." Shadow asked, with a bit of concern. Shadekit StarClan made me born for a reason, only to bring bright shades of colour everday...to my loved ones.
_________________________________________________________ ((I'm not sure if you saw the post from like...10 pages ago i think? But Shadekit already apologized to Birdkit C: ))
[Shadekit shot his head up, his wide green eyes showing signs of fright. He turned his small head to Valorkit, finding her sneeze cute yet frightening. Did she have a cold? Shadekit gave a concerned look for Valorkit, noticing that the air is starting to get colder than before. He then grinned at her.] "Good morning?" he purred. "Valorkit...I think your starting to get a cold.." Shadekit said with a concern tone. "You should stay put in your nest, mama will give us very warm milk soon!" Shadekit purred and gave a swift lick on her head. [He then went over to his dear sister, Swallowkit, giving her a swift lick on the head too. Watching her sleep with such peace made his heart warm. Shadekit then turned his gaze to his brother and Birdkit, showing a playful grin. If not fight with his brother, then why not tease? He gave Birdkit a kind grin before focusing back on his brother.] "C'mon mouse brain! Time to go for a morning jog!" Shadekit mewed with enthusiasm, as he jumped out of his nest. [He then started to ran right out of the nursery with great speed, dragging his brother with him. When he made it out of the nursery he looked back at his brother with a playful look.] "Geez your that slow?" he purred.
