Strange tastes? Iri tilts her head slightly, like a little bird. The girl can't see what's so strange about sweet iced tea. Maybe this region differs from her former home more than she originally thought. Not that it matters. "If you say so, Seph."
That said, she walks over to the cabinets and starts to take out skillets and other cooking utensils. She'll leave it to Seph to pick out the ingredients.

"Traditional Japanese. Steak, chicken, vegetables, rice." He glanced up at Iri, "No seafood." He winked, then began rummaging. "Anything I should add to that, Neek? Catfood, maybe?"

Sure, just pile in some catfood. I'm sure it'll taste dandy...

"I don't think it's 'weird', I think it's strange! Come to think of it, I guess there's not much difference in the meaning of those two words, though." He pulled out uncooked filets and lay them on the chopping board. "I said I enjoyed iced tea, it's just strange for me, that's all. It'd be great during a hot summer day, if I could feel the heat."

Iri sticks her tongue out at Seph, but there's laughter in her eyes. Talking with this one is fun. "Whatever, Ho Man. Now what do you want me to do? Chop vegetables?"

He grinned. "Absolutely!" He picked up the filets and put a pan on the stove. It took a mere snapping of the fingers to start it up. He tossed the filets on the stove and stretched. "You can use that cutting board if you like."

(( US South, from which I hail! lol But the tea isn't usually that sweet. Someone doesn't know what they're doing if they dump half a bag of sugar in a jug. That's just asking for diabetic shock. ))
"Okie dokie." She grabs some carrots from the fridge. The veggies get a thorough washing in the sink before being placed on the board. Iri finds a clean knife. Then she gets an idea to make chopping fun. Air condenses around the knife and she opens her hand to let it hover in the air. The carrots are held down in a similar fashion. She directs the knife, letting it chop away. Kaze practice turned into creative cooking techniques.
Iri turns to Seph. "What else?"

Seph blinked some, "Done alrea-" He looked at the knives. "Nyl should see this, she'd be impressed!" He looked around, then pointed to a cabinet. "See if you can find the rice in there, then set up the rice cooker for me, would you?"

A grins spreads across Iri's features. "Multi-tasking is something I've been working on."
She walks over to the aforementioned cabinet, still smiling. The rice and the cooker are easy enough to find. Poor little Iri has to stand on the tips of her toes to reach them, though. She sets both items on the counter and pauses. Her expression is perplexed. "Erm, Seph? I've never used a rice cooker before. I always fry it."

"Aah!" He nodded some, slicing the chicken filets into smaller chunks and flipping them. "Fried rice will do, then!" He whistled a tune as he went searching for the steaks.

And I actually managed to get this thing down... She sighs and replaces the rice cooker, giving it a push of air at the end to make sure it's on the cabinet shelf. Then she finds a skillet and some vegetable oil and starts to fry the rice.
Meanwhile, the knife finishes chopping and neatly places itself on the cutting board. Yes, Iri is definately having fun with this.

Seph reached into a cabinet and removed spices, sprinkled some on the chicken, then began cooking the steak. "I'll tell you what," He said, smiling to himself, "It really feels good to be back in my own body."
