I really hope I avoided the inspection at our store. It should be done 3 times a year, and hasnt been done since October. I have a feeling no matter what we do, it won't be pretty. I'd rather just not be there when it occurs.

Ah, such times are always nerve-wracking. I know what you mean, as your mere presence somehow carries more responsibility in the grade.

So, how did the evaluation go?

Quite. It is getting old, though. The concern is waning, and we are quite tired of waiting just to be told we are not a good store. We know there are problems, and we are working on it, but the store has been left to rot for a while, so we are out of whack.

That's annoying. In that case, I hope you can get it over with sooner rather than later.

stare not liking the drama now. The guy that the new owners brought in decided to put a foot down. He erased a lot of important information on a dry erase board, and put up a list of things he insists must be done. The vast majority of the list he himself does not do. It has both the other insiders ready to quit and walk away. Im upset that he is demanding things be done that he refuses to do, and if the insiders leave, that means he will make the drivers take over insider shifts until replacements can be found. We would work three times as hard, and make far less money.
contemplating leaving for anything. anything.

Oh dear, that's very troublesome. Are there any fast food places hiring? it's not great, but at least you wouldn't have to be tip-dependent. I know you're fed up w/ retail (wal-mart), so i'm not sure what else to suggest.

For me, foodservice is the bottom of the barrel. I won't go there unless I have literally no choice.
I might have to go to the local factories and see if I can get a more menial labor position.

Yeah, factory work is okay, depending on the position.

It is not an option I wish to pursue but my options are annoyingly limited.

Are you still looking to move elsewhere, or has that option fallen through?

I would desperately love to move west . . . but I have no way to afford it. It's fallen through because I cannot find a way to make it work.
