Crawleymang~ Hey. It's a base to build an "ability" on. So whether or not you can do it while moving around a lot is null and void when fiction is involved. Yeah, I know. Remember, though: method writer. Even the heavily-fictional aspects of my stuff are only put in after a lot of reading and some firsthand experience. My ways of handling things are different from yours--not better or worse per se, just different. 3nodding

I was under the impression that you wanna try and create your own unique powers and characters. Oh well. Planar Mages for all, I guess. domokun
And actually, If I were to fight Ertai, I'd just tell him to screw himself and head to the Astral Plane. Where Anime bunnies that resemble Cloud fight for control of the Rooster of Powa, the one object in the [Shilon's Astral Plane] world that grants them IMMORTALITY! He'd be lost in the randomness and I'd win. =P AND, I'd still be in the arena, too!

Simply trying to stab them is an insufficient plan and will usually end in them bending space to block your strike and rend your sword to pieces, before they grab you to hold you still while they crumple your very existence to tear you to shreds and scatter them among random dimensions. And, unlike most planar mages, Ertai doesn't limit his speed or spread out his posts or charge up attacks - he'll almost always pull his s**t in a single post, unlike most planar mages who you can at least avoid if you play smart and have some magic or magic resistance to throw at them. Crawleymang~ Like being able to notice micromovements in the muscles. Which is very possible since the technique is used to interrogate people and tell whether they are lying or how certain words effect them. Repeatedly tightening your a** is usually enough to throw off a lie detector, I've heard.

Well that would be ideal but it seems roleplaying has become somewhat like boxing with so much competition. People find out whats cheapest and adapt it into their personal style.

Well that strikes me as quite a bit of stuff that needs to occur in the amount of time I could shank/kick/bludgeon him. So I'll have to approach that with no small bit of skepticism. I believe that roleplay fighting should be a test of skill, creativity, and strength of writing. Meaning one shouldn't simply be able to call themselves a god or a planar whatsit and render any attack that isn't of the same scale of pure ubelievably completely useless. Because in the end that is nothing but powergaming. They can't think of a realistic way to stop the attack so they must resort to reorganizing the world to not get hit because recieving a blow might make them look a tad less cool. But maybe I have the wrong idea and should just buy an amulet of non-planar magic or some such stupidity.

Damn, I'm out of the loop, wait I've been on a Lovecraft and 40k kick for most of my rp existance.

Remeber, no matter what kind of building it is or even out in the open you can always hide in the rafters.

That'd be a somewhat-legit excuse in case Ertai pulled a bullshitter', no? domokun Unnnless, he's been to Heaven a thousand times, being GOD OF THE PLANAR MAGES AND ALL EXISTANCE, and studied angels with a magical microscope, after all.
Hopefully, I won't face him. Because I can forsee some.. complications mid-battle I'd face, judging by how he roleplays mixed with these "psionics". Some rather poor ones, but they're there. ;.;

Really, really makes me glad that people can't pull this kinda s**t in the real world. If I get jumped, I wanna make sure that kicking them in the nuts does the same thing to them that it would to me. None of this "make your foot reappear in the Andromeda Galaxy" horseshit. xd

Hrm, well, Truthfully, all ya' have to do... is rise and/or sink to his level. Depening on your point of view. You have three days between each post to dissemble it and counter it.... And if I were to fight him? There's no way I'd give up for love or money, the Judge would have to drag my character out by his collar. =P

Replaced by long staring contests during which the "fighters" are trying to bend reality about each other to crush their opponent. A test of mental stamina during which time their conflicting powers cancel each other out and leave absolutely nothing happening until one of them breaks and suddenly disappears. Exciting.
