Well, Striker I've tried playing Mundo, Malphite, Amumu, and Morgana, and I'm horrible with all of them.
Maybe I'm just not supposed to play tanks and casters. =/
I'm gonna give Taric a try tonight. I think I found an idea for a build that might work.
Archangel's Staff > Boots of Mobility > Zhonya's Ring
I found a really interesting interaction between Arch's and Zhonya's. They fuel each other.
Arch's increases your AP for amount of mana you have, and it increases your mana every time you use an ability, up to 250 abilities. Zhonya's increases your AP by 25%, so as your AP rises from Arch's, it also rises from Zhonya's.
The combination feeds Taric's need for mana and AP simultaneously and probably continues to do so throughout almost the entire game after you have them both. BoM so I can get to the fights faster to throw heals around.
EDIT: And when you initially get the two together, you gain 165 AP + 25% = 206.25 AP

You're doing it wrong. AP/Health combo items is all Taric. He's a tank, not a caster.

There's only two AP/Health items that I see. Rod of Ages Rylai's Crystal Scepter EDIT: And I disagree. I think he's both. Caster in the sense of supporting with heals and stuns. Yes, he's a tank, but I think he could be played in a caster role as well. -gets pissed and gives him Frozen Heart- D< It's such an awesome item, but it rarely is a solid choice over a different item for ANY character. Pisses me off.

Cool. o.O I don't understand why the stack items are so popular, honestly. Maybe it's just because I'm not good enough in the fights to actually understand their value yet. I love Frozen Heart, and it's perfect for a Malphite tank build, but beyond that I have found few characters that there's not a better alternative for. Good luck with the season. EDIT: I just figured it out, nevermind.

Because not only do they have the most benefit that you can get out of any item in their particular category (Health, AD, AP), they have huge benefits if you get to 20 stacks.
Health being that you take 15% less damage, AP being 20% less cooldown, and AD being 20% movement speed.
On Taric.. getting 20 stacks isn't too hard, especially since you can rack up assists by just using your ult in team-fights and casting heals/stuns. 20 Stacks on both Levi and SS is.. ridiculous, and honestly, he's imo, the best champion for utilizing both at once.

But Leviathan only gives you 820 health at 20 stacks. Warmog's almost gives you that just for buying it. The 15% damage reduction does sound incredibly nice, though. -also notes that Leviathan is like, one third the price of Warmog's, which is another plus-

It's still more than any other item, even if only by a small margin.
At the 30 level, runes can make the early game boost you need on a tank to get Levi stacks. My book right now, which is about to get a switch of seals to more HP/level runes, is giving my champions roughly 180 HP more in the beginning and a total of like 300 more at the end. That's gonna jump by another 178 when I replace the armor seals for health per level seals.

I wonder if Sword of the Occult would work on Warwick. =/
And I finally got to see that whole "Counter-Carry" thing we were talking about. One v one, I demolished. It was crazy.
Anyway, I'll give that a shot, because Mejai's and Leviathan together are a lot cheaper than some of the other items I was considering for Taric. I think I'll try that Arch's/Zhonya's combo when I play Morgana again.
EDIT: I'm about to hit level 19. I haven't even bought a rune yet.

I'm glad I've got a versatile selection of champs I roll well with. I can play nearly any champion well enough (even Nunu now, after hard, hard work.) - but hands down, I excel at Twisted Fate and Singed.
Most banned from what I've noticed include Shaco, Heimer, Shen, Soroka, Taric. A side-ban's the newest champ who is being banned just so people can't use him, but that'll fade I believe.
3v3, I'd say Heimer, Shaco, Warwick, Jax, Sion, Singed.
Now on 5v5, there's the "next tier" of likely ban picks if all of the above aren't hit, which includes champions people believe are over-powered and aren't. This includes Twitch, Ryze, Twisted Fate, Fiddlesticks, Katarina.
Which is solid in 5v5 ranked matches. I've got a lower chance of TF being banned, so he's good when he's not, and when he is, I've got Singed who is rarely if ever banned. Vice-versa, in 3v3, I can play Singed if not banned, Sion if Singed is banned, and Tryndamere if both are banned.
In short, I can play extremely well: Twisted Fate, Singed. I can play quite well: Sion, Tryndamere, Gangplank, Gragas, Zilean, Teemo, Fiddlesticks, Pantheon, Amumu, Veigar
And getting proficient with mo'.
