Expedition as in someone showing off something neat for consumers to become interested in. I haven't exactly decided what that would be yet, though.

Well, I have faith. Meantime, I'm going to play Deus Ex until tomorrow, where I'll then be playing Season 1 LoL like crazy. Ban system sure has made the game better.

We honestly need a Skrull invasion or some cheesy, Gaia version of Mars Attacks in the MAINSTREAM.
We all play fantastic characters, yet they all sit around a beach resort or participate in sporting events.

What else would you expect, though? If all characters are (relatively speaking) fantastic and such, then when you have a world full of that, it essentially becomes mundane.

You have a valid point.
So why are we all role playing what we could be doing in real life?
Honestly, I've always been more for wanting to role play stuff I can't do in real life. I can drive to the beach, sit there and drink beer while looking at pretty girls in REAL LIFE or I could take up taekwondo, train and compete in actual tournament in REAL LIFE. What I can't do is fight off hordes of zombies or aliens (granted I can do this in video games), or hell I can't legally blow up a gas station or semi truck. Nothing like that really happens. Just stuff we can all do in REAL LIFE and have a better time doing in REAL LIFE. I'm not understanding why people do this.
