Fair enough, and I won't lie . . . you are a big part of why I am staying. There are other parts though. Don't feel like an anchor, feel like a highlight. cool

I wouldn't count on it. ^_^; It is only early August. At least here, the heat can last through September at times.
Looking forward to Saturday, going to drive to visit my brother/best friend from years ago. Possibly RP. Much anticipation.

I was referring more to the heat wave that's been battering the eastern US lately. Summer in general, you're right, will last a good bit longer.
Sounds like fun. I hope you have a good time.

It was truly epic, and despite it not really including any form of gaming, we made a few characters and hung out for the majority of the day. Most of the crew did not show up. It was just me, my friend locally, my brother, and his partner. The four of us were happy to just hang out and do a lot of chatting and reaquainting one another. Tons of fun were had by all parties.
The only bad part was the way home. I had nearly an hour of delays on the road so I didn't get home till nearly 4am. Wife was pissed,

I'm glad you had a nice day socializing and reacquainting.
I despise traffic.

The problem wasn't traffic as much . . . it was several on-ramp closures on highways I needed to take to get home which resulted in a 45 minute delay (and I was already planning on being home at 3 to begin with). Then came a few asshat drivers, and hitting a cat on the way home that made me an emotional wreck . . . then coming home to a very irate wife because I was gone so long. It just was all the karma balancing it out at a vastly accelerated rate. A great day culminated in a horrific night.

Ah, so it was already quite a late night. I am sorry for all of the troubles you had after the awesome day.

It seems to be the counterbalance. All things in balance, my friend. Still, that cat haunts my mind. I know that it was beyond my control. I know there was nothing I could do to help her or even find her in the middle of the night. it just tears at my heart that i hurt a cat. crying

I sympathize. I've never hit a domestic animal before, but I can imagine...

I am a gentle man, and the thought of being responsible really hurt my heart. Still, there was nothing I could do then, and even less now. All I can do is hope that either she felt little-to-no pain, or found help. My affinity for cats only magnifies the guilt and disturbance.
