nothing about what i said was foolish. a duel is something done between equals say to test strength or to settle a dispute.
your character is not Fordon's equal.
besides to cause enough fear to cause a person to lose their sanity there must be the chance of grave injury or that of death. im mean i really dont see a way that a casual duel would cause you to go insane. or even scare the shiz out of you.
the only reason he would fight you would be an insult or betrayal. depending on how much of an insult it is would vary between him teaching you a lesson or killing you. if you need to be taught a lesson the most likely thing that would happen is your real teacher (LT) would do it not Fordon. which means the only way to fight against me would be apart from LT and insult me. however if you do you will still come close to death which means there will be contact. Depending on how bad it is fordon may want to take something from you to teach you a lesson. if it was bad then he might feel the need to take your eye.
to sum up what it takes to fight Fordon and you lose your sanity without losing parts of your body: be away from LT and insult Fordon, just not bad enough for him to get truly pissed.
on a side note: there is no tomfoolery in what i said... sorry but if anyone is foolish in this situation its you.
