"Preserve it for what purpose? I don't see any reason for this aristocratic 'master' of yours to bother with renovating such a place." Val didn't take too kindly to being told it was none of his business; of course, being so headstrong had made him neglect to consider the point that his position was it was no business of Baptistin's either.

"None of my business? I have personal reasons for not wanting this resting place disturbed, and I do plan to see justice brought to the man who ended so many early lives. I once thought of attending this place myself and visited on occasion. If you require a more professional reason, my commander had personal and business ties with the late master of the temple." he was of course referring to Gabriel and Galette.

Early in his career as a soldier, he had been referenced to the seven hell's temple because of its notorious reputation for breeding desirable, loyal warriors. In fact, there was really only one reason that Val had decided not to become a student: the training wasn't extreme enough for him.

Headstrong was right, just what was the man's problem. "My master likes these kinds of places, don't ask me why." Hearing the man speak of how he was once going to attend the temple made Baptistin's ears perk up slighty. "Oh? Is that so? A pity I suppose. So your master had ties here too? Looks like he left it to the birds." Which more or less was true. Gabriel had done nothing with the temple, simply left it for months. Only now that someone else was trying to fix it up were there any troubles.

"He is NOT my master!" The snap came almost as strongly as Val had opposed the idea of the temple being renovated "He's my commander, my rank superior," he continued. His master 'liked' these kinds of places. Gankutsuou would certainly seem an odd man to Val if he arrived. "Birds picking at any grave isn't unusual. However, in the name of Arch--" Val would suddenly be cut off with a grunt and someone grabbing his neck from behind.

"Dammit, Val. You can't go flaunting around his authority over every little beef you have!" Twi growled, having trouble holding Val back. It was like a human trying to tame a disobedient horse. Twi, mid length silver hair and twilight blue eyes, looked over the Baptistin and offered a nervous smile. "Um..... sorry about that. He gets a little worked up over these matters of honor and that. He really doesn't mean to do anything wrong ^^;; This is what happens when we get sidetracked and don't keep tabs on him." Twi chuckled nervously, Val still grumbling at being held back. He would have simply thrown Twi off like he was nothing, but as it was the former Black Company leader outranked him.

Baptistin would pick at his ear with a finger, after Val had yelled at him. All right, so who ever this 'commander' was, this 'Arch--' whatever, Val didn't call them Master, but still he worked for them. Perhaps it would need looking into at a later date since the man was putting up quite a show. "Another one has arrived." From inside the building Haydée could see the arrival of the new man, along side the one who appeared earlier. She was still hiding so hopefully she would go unnoticed. It wasn't like there was much, or anything she could do in this situation anyhow. "Matters of honor?" Baptistin was still having a hard time seeing why patching up a hole in a temple wall would be a matter of honor or not; It was just a simple repair afterall. "Hmm... and you are?" Baptistin would inquire the name of the second man, even though the first hadn't really given his name either. If they were going to hen peck eachother at the very least their names should be known to one another.

"Ah. Right, about that; my name is---" Twi would be cut off by Val a moment later: "you, sir, are about to get off me....."

"Next time make that a professional request," Twi retorted, letting Val go. Now that Twi was on his feet, it was easy to see Val was quite a bit taller than him. "Now, back to your question, my name is Twilight, second lieutenant and his superior," Twi jerked a thumb at Val.

Rending patches of flower, huge monsterous figures marched their way through the blood red field of infinite blooms. Massive things these were as they stood eight feet tall and weighed more than seven tons a peice. Armed so were these T-2 units were in place of their left arm, so deadly were they that they sacraficed their hands for weapons, rests an air-cool fifty caliber machine gun capable of rending flesh and steel with the same impassionate ease. And to make matters worse each unit boasted the strength of a fast recycling, recoiless, laser cannon in replacement to their right arms. Above each shoulder boxes stood mounted, roughly four feet by four feet each one housed a salvo of eight SLM - shoulder launched missile - and could easily do away with most fortified bunkers. Their eyes beamed a soft red color as their magnification systems made the image of Twi, his annoying counter part Val, and the occupants of the tomb blossom to a more sizeable image. This image, valuable data as they now were aware of the current conditions of the tomb as well as those in the immediate area, was transmitted to Rookin, Second Commander to the Admiral's Elite Bodyguards.

Along with the T-2s were four deadly Z-23's. Deadly creations they were, as they glided along the path that their bulkier cousins left while they trudged. Armed with a laser forged blade, forged from the recently discovered Ombiox - a light weight yet heavily dense mineral found in the stalled core of a planet that was housed in a solar system rotating around a white dwarf that had yet to be broken by any traditional means - and a secretly hidden tungsen slug throwers these ninja like death bots, standing no taller then an average male and gliding about on feet silenced by short range white noise inducers, were deadly enough to give a T-2 pause.

Tall enough to nearly stare the hulking T-2 unit in the eye Rookin stood an impressive seven foot three inches and lay claim to more physical lifting strength then all six of the massive T-2 units trailing along in his wake combined! With the appearance of an old man, gray hair with the occassional strand of black tied tightly in a knot that hung down his back - pressed in by his silvery plate half helm - and a beard to match, Rookin looked wise and eternally battle worn. Chapped lips, slightly bloodied where the cracks ran deep enough, and sun tanned skin with a near perpetually dusty face made it appear Rookin had just walked off the battlefield, and with a team of T-2s and Z-23s following him about it was little wonder anyone would jump to that conclusion. Only his armor was too clean, too pristine in it's gloried shine, to make anyone think he'd been anywhere near a battle field.

Rookin's destination was obvious, The Seven Hells Temple. And with nothing to bar or slow their progression Rookin and his team made relatively quick timeing, approaching behind Twilight and his idiot counter part. "Hail, citiziens." Rookin said in his deep, booming, voice. A large man with a powerful voice, he adjusted the heavily spiked morning star dangling from his belt to ensure it didn't clang about his knee or fall free as the massive head was heavier then the leather binding could often support. "I search for Gankutsuou, I was informed he would be located in this general area." Rookin recited the name as though reading it from some distant location. Maybe he was as the Cradle and his team remained in constant contact with one another.

"Twilight hmm? I'll be sure to remember it." So this, Twilight fellow was of higher rank than his aggressive subordinate. They both worked for this 'Arch-' someone. At least Twilight seemed easier to speak with, but just then they were interupted. Baptistin would look over Rookin from heel to head, and internally wondered how his Master's name was known to this.... person. Aside from Griffin in Twice Royal The Count's name had not been uttered in public. Hearing Rooking from inside the temple, Haydée noted The Count's name spoken aswell, and it made no sense. Baptistin would finally address the man after a moment. "I'm sorry, but my master is not here. Do you have a message for him?" This fellow would need some following up on, to know The Count's name.
PostPosted: Mon Feb 26, 2007 9:38 pm

Rookin's knowledge of the Count's name came from Griffin himself, regardless if the man knew or not. Knowledge was power, and as such the Admiral scraped about any chance to gain more that which he craved most, power! "I come bareing a message from the High Chancelor of the Black Company, KB! And it is his words I deliver unto your Master. Make note and be certain he recieves this message." His voice, Rookin's, was strong and hardy, a man who would recite the entire bible at the top of his lungs for all to hear given the chance "On behalf of High Chancelor KB and the residing crew of the Cradle, you are cordially invited to the first anual Sea of Stars Gala abord the recently completed star-station the Cradle. Formal dress, black tie and dress, and you are welcome to bring a date to suit. Firearms are strictly prohibited." Voice subsideing into nothingness Rookin stood and prepared himself to accept the response and transmit it to the Grave where a shuttle would be prepared to take the guests to the Gala, Rookin would say as much. "Located some distance from here is a large castle structure known as the Grave, all attendants are welcome to arrive at the Grave and board the shuttle which will ferry those too and fro from the Gala to the surface. I must warn you, however, all unknown shuttles leaving the surface will be encountered by the sizeable security detail designed to guard the event!"

When the overkill brigade had showed up, Twi simply groaned. In fact, he was just going to leave and take Val with him until Rookin spoke. Twi's first instinct was simple. He started laughing his a** off at Rookin, obviously undeterred by the large force backing him, probably because Twi was confident Val could rip apart the whole lot on a coin drop. "Pardon me for butting in," Twi eventually chuckled to Baptistin, "but I have to correct something the new guy just said. KB is the high chancellor of squat, much less the Black Company. Said company is commanded by another, and managed by myself. Admittedly it's seeing some redesign, but I can assure you this joke has nothing to do with it. The rest isn't my concern. Now if you'll excuse me I should be going. Come'on, ya big lummuck." Twi bowed out and started to take his leave. Val grumbled and started to leave as well, annoyed at how this ended.

He'd really have liked to tear apart one or two of those robots to vent some anger.

Baptistin would take in the information from both Rooking and Twilight. Once The Count returned, he could sort things out. The question had to be asked of Rookin however. "So, The Count is free to attend or decline then? If he chooses to decline, then what?" One always had to be careful and have all the information. The door to life swings both ways, and has its corrisponding conciquenses.

"Declining an invitation would pit your Count as an enemy of the state, as it were. A taint on His plans, and as such a taint it shall be removed with all possible force." Rookin's voice held a sort of preaching quality to it, a minster lecturing a sermon. Val's desire to attack the force before him was laughable, not only could he not damage one machine - let alone destroy it - but he had almost a full dozen of the mechanized warriors to contend with. Twilight's rude behavior only served one purpose, to add weight to Rookin's claim of KB's hold over the Black Company. Not to mention TJ's previous claim of Second, implying that someone stands above him and with Rookin's claim it seemed KB stood higher still.

For the most part Val and TJ were ignored, nothing more than annoyances really, but a slim sliver of Rookin's awareness rested on the duo. They were annoying, yes, but the big one acted as if he was not only annoying but stupid to boot and might try to attempt a preemptive strike. Well the Z-23's would rip him to shreds.

In a more casual voice he added, "Please excuse the actions presented earlier by those two subordinates. I assure you not all are as...presumptious as they are, and disciplinary actions shall be taken swiftly."

"Oh, one more thing," Twi paused to respond once more, Val stopping beside him, now stoic and cold as opposed to his earlier rage. "I can guarantee my..... 'our' commander's authority outranks KB's. The b*****d's died more than once fighting me, so it isn't exactly intelligent to call him a superior........ but I guess that's why you brought this whole lot."

"I'm stronger than you are, but you're my superior," Val uttered to Twi.

Twi grumbled and gave Val as smack with his elbow, which hardly made the neanderthal budge. "Dammit, Val, you're supposed to be on my side. Anyway, you can tell KB he's got a lot of work to do before he's leader of anything more than a squad of machines and a busted up old man." Twi blinked, a small beeper going off on his belt. "Crap.... we're overdue. Come'on lugnut, we're outta here." With that, Twi used a teleportation device similar to the one he'd used in the past, before he and Val disappeared.

"..." It seemed the only response Baptistin could muster was a silent stare. He'd keep in mind what both parties said, and would relay the message to his master, things could be figured out from there. The Count was free from the rule of any government, and he mingled freely with people of all classes. The threats that would follow not attending wouldn't mean much, if anything at all. Twilight and his subordinate were gone, leaving Rookin to also take his leave. If The Count was going to attend, he would arrive at the Grave to be shuttled up when the time arose.

A short time later after Rookin and Twilight had left, The Count returned and was informed of the Gala and the visitors who had appeared in his absense. The Count would ponder over whether or not to go, later on once inside. Baptistin would convey his general assessment of both parties to The Count. There was much to ponder, and not just related to this... Gala. The Count would take to a large room, likely Galette's old room. It reaked of many things, but the scent would fade with time, and air freshener. Relaxing back in a chair, The Count would sip at a glass of red wine after ingesting what appeared to be two pills from a small box on his person.

After thinking about the invitation at length, The Count would decide to go and see this KB, and the space station. He would have prefured his own mode of travel, but alas it seemed out of the question. If anything he could bring a guest, Haydée would do nicely as his company like always. Beautiful, alluring, and as always a puppet who's strings he could pull at a whim. The Count would put things together for his entrance to the Gala. Also some minor construction work had been finished at the temple. A large door, the same color as the temple walls, and set into the wall with a wide starecase going down into the flowers. It was a beautiful sight no doubt, and the most obvious from outside. Anything major would come soon enough, and likely at great cost.
