Dom shrugged. "Oh nothing much, just a couple of random tricks from the good ole days." He leaned in toward Richard. "Are you dating her now?" He asked.

Richard was taken aback at Dom's question, his eyes opening in surprise before he glanced over at Violet, hoping she hadn't heard his question. "No...we're not dating. We just came out here to relax, since she's been studying most of the day and needed a break." It wasn't the whole truth but it wasn't a complete lie either. He turned to Violet, saying "Don't wander off too far." One part of him was glad she had excused herself, but another part wished he wouldn't leave him here to talk to Dom alone. He closed the door and slid down to the sand, leaning against the car tire as he invited Dom to take a seat beside him.
"Did something happen between you and Violet?" he finally whispered, hoping she was finally out of earshot.

Dom nodded. "'Fraid so. I..." Dom sighed. "...I made some bad decisions in high school. I was dating Violet, but because I was a little arrogant and shallow, I dumped her. Even though she was a great and loyal girl. Went out with one of the cheerleaders, got dumped, and I didn't have the guts to ask Violet out again. It seemed a little....awkward. We never really talked after that..." He looked out to Violet. "But yeah...since you guys are here, do you want to hang out? I was just about to build a bonfire, like the old days. So, how bout it?"

Dom caught the lighter and clicked his teeth at Richard. He watched him trudge down the dune and eventually fall on his back. He chuckled silently to himself. "Classic clumsy d**k...." He whispered as he jogged down to him. He stood over him, looking down at him. "Rich.." He called. "Rich, you alright, brah?"

Dom chuckled at Richard's finger. He helped him to his feet. "Aye, mate. See ya in a few." He then started to gather driftwood and pile it together in a pit as he was doing before.

"I just fell down the dune, that's all. But it's you I'm worried about. Are you ok?" Richard could tell she had had a small cry from a few strands of hair sticking to her cheeks. "We don't have to stay if you don't want to," he whispered, "...if it's making you feel uncomfortable. I'm more than willing to take you home...Come on, Violet. Look at me." Richard held one of her hands that was brushing at his shirt; he hated seeing her like this. "What do you want to do?"

"No, Violet. This isn't something I should be telling you how to do. You have to decide what is best for yourself in this situation." Richard ran a thumb along her cheek to wipe away any residue of moisture that remained. "You want some time to think about it?"
