No, I don't think you would. Well... someone might, but it wouldn't matter

Well... in that case... I would like to suggest a complete restructuring of the moderator staff.

Ok, you've suggested it... details?

Ahem.... *Cough.*

I think that there are certain moderators, and I'm not going to name names, that don't know what it means to be a moderator. I believe that these moderators should be de-modded because they don't know how to do their job or even what their job is supposed to be.

I also believe that there are certain mods that don't even really do much as moderators and that they should be de-modded as well.

Once this has been done, if there are any members that would like to nominate new mods, I think nominations should be taken and looked at. I think that the members should be allowed to vote on whether someone is modded, and not just the moderators.

Then, I believe that Maxi's suggestion of making the moderators a council of equals should be implemented and that no mod should be able to make a decision without talking to at least one or two other mods.

People in Levi have been jokingly calling it a dictatorship... but it's not a joke. I think some people genuinely believe that Levi is a dictatorship and it shouldn't be like that. Levi was meant to be a community of equals.

So... yeah... democracy and voting and all that jazz...

I have a dispute with- Oh, wait, wrong thread.

I'd like to suggest that people start becoming accountable for their own actions and the actions of those around them. You don't raise your hand and say "teacher, he's breathing on me!" whenever the slightest thing goes wrong. When people act like utter douchebags in the OOC and there are seven people sitting around going "why isn't someone doing anything about this?" they should... y'know... do something about it.

The mods have administrative power. They ban people that start and continue problems. The members have mob power. They should be actively engaged in backhanding people who don't know how to behave themselves.

Why does this not happen?

You know Kana...

That would probably cause a bigger fire than there already is happening.

This is not a democracy, this is a dictatorship republic.

In a republic, the majority chooses the people that they feel are capable, responsible, and compassionate enough to achieve the goals of the state while still lending an ear to the needs of the lower caste.

In a republic, administrative power is given to a group of individuals who decide and/or vote on what should be done for the betterment of the community as a proxy to a straight majority vote.

To have every single member of a community vote and have every vote count is a clumsy system. First there's the logistics of it. Second there's the fact that people can't make an educated decision if they don't properly understand what the situation is. That is why republics exist. The popular vote decides what educated and informed individual is put in charge. The people in charge then vote in place of the masses as a proxy, making informed decisions to best serve the population.

Republic. It's clean, efficient, and educated.

High Council, bish.

I'm sorry X, but I refuse to do so... because then people just get yelled and bitched at.

MOB RULE!

So what are we to do then, get rid of all the current mods and then vote in new ones?

Well, B already banned Shou in a spectacular fit of emo. So that's one down.
PostPosted: Wed Jun 20, 2007 2:20 pm

Yeah... basically that's what I'm saying. Vote in new mods, though that doesn't mean that current mods couldn't be voted back as a mod.

Of course; but decisions should not be made in a vacuum of information.

Then what do you suggest N_I?
