When Donner was done, he didnt bother replacing the bandages. Even if he could've with two hands, he wouldn't bother. "Eat." He ordered again, standing up and walking over to the edge of the cave again, picking up a goat-skin blanket and placing it over Rain's shoulders, keeping the boy warm with the skin and the fire.
"Dont worry about the doctors. And dont worry about the spark." Donner said as he stood over Rain. "It'll come back once the whizbang flips the purple gondola. Now frizzle me up some dealies and whip-ow whip-ow whip-ow."
Things would take a surreal turn for Rain...before he passed out.

((I'm only getting started.))
A biting cold would awaken Rain, snow beginning to pile up upon his body as he lay outside in the middle of the crater/shelf. The goat-skin rug was wrapped tightly around him, almost cocooning him, almost like a funeral shroud.
At the end of the clearing, on the edge of the crater, was a sheer drop down the end of the mountain. It dropped down into the center of the mountains, to a great valley between them. It was at the edge of this cliff that Rain would see someone.
They crouched next to a massive bonfire, their back turned to Rain. They were naked, their skin almost blue with the cold. Their body was wizened, almost malnourished, joints and bones prominant as they moved. The person seemed to be holding something in it's hands, biting it, gnawing on it. They sounded disgusting, grunting and snorting - their slobber and drool were flung far as they attacked whatever it was that they had.
The bonfire burned brightly, a shining beacon within the falling snow, which was beginning to pick up the pace. The tiny flakes slashed down from the sky, stabbing into Rain's face with cold needles, beginning to bury him. His only salvation was the fire.

"Unnnggghhh.... brrrrr.... what the heck? Where... am I?" he would say to himself, his good eye focusing in and out. It was hard to move for some reason... he was both warm and cold, and unsure of his surroundings. How did he get...
"Tomorrow." he said to himself, suddenly remembering why he had come to the mountains. He remembered the travel, and thought he remembered finding the man, but the rest was a haze in his mind.
The fire did look inviting, but the big blue naked neanderthal did not. Maybe he could rush him and shove him off the edge of the cliff... but he couldn't build up the speed with the amount of snow on the ground. His best bet was to make a break for it, and head back up the mountain. He was in no condition to be fighting, and now that the effects of the pain killers had worn off, he wasn't even sure why he had come here in the first place.
He attempted to sit up... but found he could not. His arms felt like lead. As did his legs. As did ALL of his body. Everything was sore, and heavy. And there was something... in his mind. Something he couldn't place. Like the feeling of being watched, or of having someone over your shoulder, except in his head. Something just faint enough to not even be considered a whisper.
Using all his willpower, he managed to drag his arms up towards his upper torso and started pushing himself up. The doctors had told him to be back in their care before the painkillers wore off, or else he wouldn't be able to move, and would be in extreme agony for the next few days. So far, the pain wasn't that excrutiating.
... until Rain took his first step, away from the discarded rug and the distant fire, and towards the mountaintop. He let out a loud, piercing scream of pain before doubling over, landing in the nearest pile of snow. His insides were suddenly ablaze with fire, and though he always retained the will to live since... the incident... he had never so much wanted to die right then and there, let alone the feeling a hundred times over, which is what he was experiencing right now.

Instantly he was set upon from behind, something gripping his shoulders and pulling him back, forcing him to face the grey sky with it's falling snow.
"No escape!!" The creature shrieked into Rain's face, the thing's own features gaunt and almost lifeless except for the rage that was embedded within.
Gripping his hair, the creature pulled with an almighty cry, Rain's body sliding through the snow until it was next to the fire - before it landed on him, straddling his naked body with it's own, and gripped his stomach with it's gnarled fingers.
The thing's body was malnourished - but it held a mighty strength, which was evident as it tore his flesh from his body like a child tore away the wrapping paper from a present, flinging bits of red away to reveal the steaming, juicy, ropey guts hidden within.
Rain would feel pain like no other. His mind would burn with it, his voice would shriek until it was hoarse as the creature feasted on his insides, tearing them out to bite and gnaw on them, looping them around his hands as it warbled with glee.
He would stay awake through it all. Even when the creature had it's full, and his guts were hanging like chopped piping in a water main, even when the pain went so high he would become used to it...he would stay alive.
The creature would crawl off him, it's hands and forearms stained with blood and gunk, it's mouth crimson with gore, to sit beside him, watching the fire with it's wide eyes, playing with something that could possibly be one of Rain's kidneys. "...fire pretty...question...question time..." It whispered to itself.

Rain Yupa ((I assumed they were roofies.)) "Go..." *kof* "... go... to hell? How's... that for... an opening... question?" He wouldn't even look at the creature, he would simply await the death that seemed to elude him. ((...Roofies?)) The thing would suddenly lunge onto him again, shrieking and whaling and cackling manically. "Defiance! Defiance! Defiance!!"Rain would look into his own gaunt, wizened, bloodsoaked face, bits of flesh still stuck to his cheeks and lips and feel a great madness wash over him - "Awake now, my son?"Rain's own horrifying visage would instantly disappear to reveal Donner looking down on him, the giant smiling a warm smile down to him. "You've been asleep for two days." Donner continued, taking the wet cloth that he'd placed on Rain's brow and re-soaking it in a bowl by his side, before placing it back on his forehead. They were within the cave, a blizzard raging outside. The mouth was dark - Donner had shoved a boulder into it to stop the cold from gaining entrance. The giant's mechanical arm was back, Donner flicking the water from it's hand before he placed it on Rain's shoulder. Rain would find that his body had not been touched, his insides remained where they were, his body covered by the goat-skin rug. His clothes were being used as a pillow, bundled and placed under his head. Donner gripped Rain's head and used his finger to open Rain's eye a little, peering into it before letting his head rest back on the bundle of clothes. "Bad dreams, hmm? Before you launch into questions - and i will give you answers - tell me what you saw."

((Um... something you slip into someone's drink for, ah... I'll explain it when you're older))
Confusion.
That's what Rain felt. What he experienced seemed too real to be anything but, but here he was, in one piece, intact. John Tomorrow crouched over him.
Rain lifted a shakey hand up from beneath the rug to rub his face. Trying to blink away the visage that just terrorized him. "Please don't refer to me as a youth. I'm several years your elder by the looks of it. You don't even have any gray hairs, from what it looks like to me. And as for what I saw..."
He took another look at Tomorrow's face, envisioning the previous entity from the dream. A person, I guess. Blue and naked, looked half-starved. Hell, it looked ALL-starved. Though it shivvered, it really didn't look cold." He paused, going over the facts in his head. And he kind of ate... wait, did you say two DAYS? Please tell me you did not say days."
The dream quickly faded into the "least of his problems" category, as he realized that all the people who were backing him and his endeavors to this point were probably writing him off as dead. He was supposed to be back in their custody by the end of the night!

"Yes, days." The giant rumbled as he turned to the fire crackling besides them, stirring a pot filled with something that smelled of meat and potatoes that was trussed up over the fire. "I'm sorry if you had someone waiting for you...but I cannot choose when the Alophagus will release you."
He sat back on the ground, reaching into the pouch besides him to pull out a rice-cake wrapped in a leaf. The item was small, the rice all different colors ranging from blue to yellow to green, the leaf a deep green with veins of red. He placed it on the ground before Rain, pushing it over to him. "Alophagus. It's what the Tribal elders called it. They used these cakes to gain wisdom. All Tribal members must go through their Trials before becoming a full-fledged Tribal."
He smiled to Rain. "Of course, I'm not trying to convert you if you are a part of a religion or a tribe yourself - but you asked for your Spark back, and this is the only way I can think of without actually hurting you."
He nodded to Rain's body. "Your wounds are healing quite nicely. Tribal medicine can be severe at times - but is extremely effective."

"... Okay, I don't know what you mean about tribes and elders and alophaguses, but whatever wisdom I was supposed to gain, I totally messed up on. I think I kinda pissed off the naked blue tribal guy. Figuring he kinda cannibalized my a**, and didn't take too kindly when I told him to go to hell."
Slowly, not unlike a tired old man, he slowly sat up from his bedding. "So if I made some sort of grievous faux pax to your ancestors, I apologize. But I tend to be less civil when people make a banquet of me."
He sat there in silence for a few moments, staring at the rice-cake beside him. For some reason, he wanted to give it the finger. But enough insults for one day.
"When we sparred..." he started, before stopping himself. "When we fought back at Leviathan stadium that day, you took the electricity from my body. Not forever, just my stores for a few days. Static buildup, if you will. But, I've just felt... oh god, sorry if this makes me sound homosexual, but like I'm part of you now. That's how I found you all the way out here. I just... felt you out. Why are you even out here in the middle of nowhere, anyways?"
He would let Tomorrow respond, before going on. "I've always had to fight by myself, for myself while growing up. When I... well... started a family, I learned to fight for others instead. But I still fought by myself. So feeling part of myself inside another warrior is really... uncomfortable, I guess. It just feels wrong to me. So thats why I came out here."
.....
"Well... no, its not the only reason..."

It looked like you, yes? Emanciated and blue...most likely within a cold, with a fire near...and it ate you when you approached, most likely your stomach and intestines..." Donner remarked quietly, looking into the fire besides them. "I beleive you confronted Despair, cold and old. It was most likely eating something when you confronted it - this would be your hope. When you confronted it, it ate at your courage, your guts - but defiance deemed your safety from Despair. Telling Despair to go to hell meant that all hope was not lost - no matter how hard it tries."He fell silent then, listening to the fire crackling, before Rain spoke again. This is where she came to better herself, and she took her own life in the end, unable to bear the shame."He looked up at the murial on the walls then, narrowing his eyes as he peered at it, scratchings leaving dirty shadows in the inky black untouched by the draping light of the fire. ((Oooh. You just struck a nerve with Rain. If you listed ANY emotion besides despair, it wouldn't spawn this reaction. Good for you, John surprised )) Tomorrow "Mmm...you have seen something that was a part of you. I can't recall if it resembled me, or not. But it may have, by the way you described..." And then Rain went quiet, before he went on about the confrontation. He would wince, a chord struck, pinging at long-repressed memories he spent over a decade blocking out. "No... NO! Damn it all, NO!" Rain would call out, grabbing at the sides of his head, as if suddenly hit by a pounding migraine. Electricity would begin to surge freely over his invisible aura of ki, flashes and bolts seemingly snaking their way over Rain's naked skin. After a moment, he would turn to the side, lifting up his right fist, and punch it into the stone ground of the cave, plunging it a few inches into the stone ground. A strike that probably should have broken Rain's hand, but curiously enough, it did not. Not like Rain himself would notice at this point. After a few seconds, the electricity died away, and he began to pant. Looking at Tomorrow tih dead seriousness in his eyes, he would respond "I made a promise I would never give in to Despair again. And I intend to keep that promise."Quote: "This is where my daughter died." Donner responded. "I come to pay my respects after...a great battle." He looked down to his metallic arm, the fingers still on his knee. "Our last meeting had not been a happy one. This is where she came to better herself, and she took her own life in the end, unable to bear the shame."He looked up at the murial on the walls then, narrowing his eyes as he peered at it, scratchings leaving dirty shadows in the inky black untouched by the draping light of the fire. "... I have not seen my daughter in a long, long time. She goes to a private school in the country I came from. I have to limit my contact with her, so she is not endangered by the life I live. She almost got hurt by my recklessness in the past, and the thought of losing her is unbearable, so that's why I keep her away. I... can't imagine what you had to go through, John."Quote: "And what other reason might that be, my son?" Donner asked, tilting his head to the side as he waited for a reply, folding his hands together in his lap, metal on flesh. "... Heaven. Or Hell. The fighting tournament. I... want to participate again this year. But... I want to win this time. And I need your help. There's not many people I know in Gaia, and I need a team to enter. And you... you're strong. Stronger than I. You have a level of strength I'll never be able to attain myself."He paused, frowning. "Though there is little I can offer in exchange for your assistance, except for the glory of victory. And, ah... your fair share of victory money. But I have a suspicion that money is almost as trivial to your lifestyle is it is for mine. But... I still need your help, John Tomorrow, if I want to win. I can't do it by myself, in more ways than one."

Donner listened quietly, drinking in Rain's outburst, listening to his tale about his family, nodding with respect in responce to Rain's condolances, before narrowing his eyes at Rain's request to join his team.
"Before we do anything, you must conquer yourself." Donner said slowly. "The Alophagus will guide you to a true path, help you make yourself one. As you do this, i will do what i can to repair the rift i've put in you...perhaps hand you back the piece of you i've taken."
His voice lowered to a soft growl in the flickering light of the campfire, the darkess of his shadow seeming to make him look almost gargoyle-esque. "But it wont be easy. Despair is your weakness, and it is not something that can be overcome with ease. Do not tell me you do not need it, for you would not have sought me out. This is something you must achieve...and i'm afraid you have no choice."
