((Meh, sorry my posts are so short. o.o))

Makadari allowed a small smile to grace his features. They will grow in strength, Kiu. They are a good addition to the Blood. He curled his tail around his haunches as he lowered himself to a sitting postition, and eyed Kinja. And you are well, I presume?

As his brother leapt on him, Kavu didn't move. A low growl exited his throat, but he wouldn't give his younger sibling the satisfaction of the 'kill'. "Whatever." He mumbled, then rolled over as Kimeti left. Dude, this was soooooooo boring.

Whoa!

Dad was here!

Suddenly, everything seemed much different. Kavuasi ADORED his father, though he hadn't been alive long enough to know him very well. He stumbled after Kimeti, silently staring up at his father with shaking eyes. Then, his gaze turned to Makadari, and.... A shiver ran up his spine. His grandfather looked powerful, but there was something about him that made Kavu... what was it? Scared? No, Kavu wasn't scared. He hadn't felt scared before... Was it... Wary? Yes, that was it. Kavu was wary of Makadari. He lowered his head, his tail flicking behind him, looking at the space between his father and his grandfather.

Kinja looked at Makadari that showed she wasn't up fo rhis small talk. She wanted to just ask him why he really cared how she was but kept herself calm enough to answer civally. "I am doing well." She didn't elongate her answer, afraid that her voice might betray her.

Kimeti looked at his father and Makadari before padding up to his grandfather and looking at him from just below. He had to admit that his grandfather was big, but his f ather was bigger. He took pride in that his father was larger but didn't say anything about it., but another thought came to his mind. "You must be the one mother doesn't like. I am not sure why she doesn't like you grandfather, but it must be a good reason, mother's always right. Right father?" He looked at Kiu.

Kinja couldn't believe what Kimeti had just said, but she must have gave that point across to her cubs. With the way she was acting earlier it's no surprise that one of them at least caught on. She glanced around the thicket at her other cubs as if she hadn't really heard what Kimeti had said. Her eyes fell upom Kafara and she walked over to her little one and picked her up gently, taking her other to the rest of the group.

Kiu was speechless.

"I don't think that Kinja meant that, Kimeti, my son. . . Er, I'm sure that she was talking about. . . Mwali. For some reason, it seems that my mate and my brother do not get along. Perhaps they had some disagreement? Isn't that right, Kinja?"

Kiu glared at his son as slyly as he could, trying to tell him to keep quiet about the subject. Kafara tilted her head, silently padding over to her father. She sat at his feet, her tail lashing back and forth and her wide eyes staring straight ahead, seeing and yet not seeing. Kafara really was strange.

Kiu looked down at her, nudged her affectionately with his foot, and turned back to his father.

Kafara, after being nudged, eyed her brother Kavu with interest.

Makadari stared at the small cub, not allowing surprise to flicker across his features. Finally he spoke. Indeed, it is wise to assume that your mother is always right. He smirked a bit, wondering what the cub thought of him now.

Kavu turned his head, staring silently at Kafara. Then, he nodded slowly, stood, and sat down beside her. The move was only a few inches, but to him it meant something. Was his sister wary of this new lion, as he was? Even if she wasn't, it didn't matter. He nudged her silently with his forehead, as if consoling her. Or was it playful? Even Kavu himself couldn't tell. He just felt as if it needed to be done. He then continued to stare, though this time at his grandfather directly, almost daring him to try and hurt his sister.

Duuuuude, NO ONE messed with his sister.

kijinga's head rose as she peered at her father. a smile grew on her face, but quickly faded as another came into the veiw. her grin fell to a growl as she moved towards her mothers side, peeking out towards the other lion in interest. he looked and smelled like her father. yet she didn't trust him, he...was an outsider to her, and no outsider can gain her trust easily unless mother knew him. her eyes glanced up, as she looked at her mother, in some what of a frantic. she wanted to know if this lion could be trusted.

Off to the side sat Kwana, surprisingly silent, half hidden by the brush of the thicket. Her tail twitched every few moments, pale blue eyes following the movements of her siblings and parents, gaze finally locking on Makadari with his arrival. Her eyes widened; sure, she'd seen her dad, but this was...her grandfather? He had a different feel about him... Darker, dangerous. She casually left her hiding place, strutting over to sit near Kavu and Kafara. She wasn't quite sure if she could trust this...grandfather, and chose not to risk it just yet. However, she did flash Kavu a smirk. "Nervous?"

Kinja didn't say anything in reply to Kiu. She didn't want to deny the truth that her cubs had picked up on. Instead she sat there calmly as possible, her tail gently beating against the ground.

Kimeti looked at his father but didn't heed his warning. "What areyou talking baout father? It's definitly Grandfather mother doesn't like not that....mawlia lion." He looked a bit confused before looking back at grandfather. "Yep, mother is always right, even father can't deny it." He said innocently. "Father does everything for mother." He nodded before slipping past the two adults. His eyes fell upon his grandfather's tial which was moving ever so slightly. Kimeti's intrest was drawn to the tail as if it was an animal he could kill. He did his best pouncing position beforea leaping upon the tail, his claws digging into his grandfather's flesh, though Kimeti didn't really know it.

Kijinga watched as her brother leaped up and dug into her Grandfathers tail. her eyes twitched slighlty as she moved back a bit. she didn't quite feel comfertable with this action as the hairs on her neck began to rise.

Kavu silently acknowledged Kwana, his other sister, with a nod. Then, he snorted at her question, answering her quietly.

"Hardly nervous... Just..." He shot a glance up at Makadari, then added one last word, in an even softer voice than before. "....wary." He fell silent then, his tail flicking over Kwana's paws, his body still sidled up against Kafara's. Now there were two sister's to protect... And possibly three, for he could feel Kinjinga moving a few yards behind him.

((Sorry I'm so slow. . .))

Kiu tried to pretend that the comment that Kimeti had so eagerly uttered had never been spoken. He failed. However, he did manage to engage his father in conversation. . . somewhat.

"The oldest is named Kwana." He gestured to the cub that went by the name he had spoken.

"The second eldest, my heir, is Kavuasi. Then, there's Kijina and Motomilia. . ."

He moved to his second son. "This one is named Kimeti. And the last is Kafara."

Kafara's ears perked at the sound of her name. She did not speak, only nuzzled up against Kavuasi a bit and touched noses with her sister briefly in greeting and reassurance.
