Kibo, who had lost interest in the conversation, walks back over, giving Storm a firm rap to the back of the head as he passes her.
Kibo: I heard "homosexual zombie," "do that with," and "Kibo."
He has a seat.
Kibo: Me? I'm from an island not too far from Tortuga. The island of Otulaus. It's a pretty small place, but there were a lot of wild horses there. No, I don't know how they all got there. Anyways, they're almost al domesticated now, and...
He pauses, choosing his words carefully. He didn't want to use the word "father," since that man was no father to him.
Kibo: ...The man that bore me used to make horseshoes for them all.

"Look, you know it's true. Besides, that zombie was kind of cute last time I saw him."
Storm sighed magnominously.
"Too bad he is gay. Why is it all the cute ones are either family or gay or undead."
She paused, thinking.
"You are from Otulaus? I thought the island was abandoned after a plague ravanged the natives."

Kibo: Nope. There were originally 2 villages on Otulaus, "The Hill" and "The Valley". Only The Valley was ravaged by plague. After they had died, The Hill left their village, and populated The Valley. The Valley had more fertile farmland, and a wide field for horse races. Plus, it was right next to the ocean. We originally had to either pass through the Valley and catch the plague, or climb down the 200-foot cliffs that the Hills were bordered by. Nobody wanted to get the plague, so we pretty much just cut off the sea trade for a while. Although fishing off the cliffs was pretty fun.

Ranu frowned, aware he was nither Gay, dead, undead or family, and was trying to work out if Storm was calling him ugly. "I can imagine it was," Ranu replied dryly. "How did the plague arrive?"

Hoping that didn't mean Storm belived him to be homosexual, he nodded, then glanced at Kibo, then back at Storm. "I would imagine a very long string, ma'am."

Kibo: Very long string. One of the main problems was that it had a tendency to break under its own weight. And we don't know how the plague got there. Maybe somebody rowed to shore with infected rats onboard. Us Hill folks didn't usually get into the affairs of the Valley, especially something as minor as somebody coming ashore.

Kibo: Maybe. Quite frankly, I don't plan on ever going back there, so I don't really care. It's all in the past, and there's nothing I can do about it, so there's no point in debating it.

Ranu shrugged, his mind now working quickly over curisity. "Isn't it a British territory now, sir?" he said, getting a sudden, rather bad, feeling. He seemed to remember A failed assult on them once. Or was it somewhere else?
