Hikaru frowned. None of the dolls made it in this time, but at least she managed to get a four-token number bonus. At a net loss of only one token, she kissed each of the dolls in turn before making her final throw, hoping for some luck.

Ah well. Even break. Win some, lose some. It was still a little irritating that she had to end the day one token short of 300, but tomorrow was another day, and she was making definite progress toward her ultimate goal of 500 tokens. Hikaru pocketed the days' winnings and walked off.

Another day, another dollar! Or in Hikaru's case, another pile of tokens. With this thought in mind, she bounced happily up to the game booths, looking to add to her already considerably large pile of tokens.

The first try resulted in an even break. Shrugging and pushing five more tokens toward the booth vendor, Hikaru decided to have another go at it. Gathering up the dolls once again, she tossed them back toward the van again.

Even break again. Hikaru simply shrugged lightly. It looked like this day was going to get off to a slow start. Oh well, no big deal. She was sure she'd be able to start winning tokens soon.

But not soon enough, apparently. This time, all of the dolls missed the van completely. Hikaru angrily gritted her teeth, scowling at the van and gathering up the dolls once again. She winged them toward the van with everything she had, determined to start winning.

The same result again. This was getting downright depressing. Hikaru, who was becoming angrier by the minute, paid out another five tokens to the booth vendor, gathered up the dolls again, and threw them back toward the van.

That was more like it. Two of the dolls landed in the van this time, and Hikaru had managed to get the number bonus as well. Happy that she'd started winning some of her lost tokens back, she gathered the dolls up once more for another try.

This game was really starting to piss Hikaru off. She was down nine tokens, and over half of her plays had been totally wasted for the day. She paid for another game, desperately hoping to turn her luck around.

There! Finally! Three dolls landed in the van, and the bonus light lit up and started flashing. The booth vendor smiled at Hikaru, a little glad for her himself, and happy to see that her persistence had paid off. Twenty-three tokens came sliding her way, and she pushed five of them back to have another shot at the game.
