Natasha sighed, after thinking for a while about her scar she hadn't found an answer. She gave up....intending to think about it later.

Kibo walks over, crouches down beside Natasha.
Kibo: What's wrong? You seem sad. Or frustrated...

Natasha opened her eyes and looked at Kibo.
"Nothing really...my scar's tingling and I don't know why. It's nothing to worry about, I'll figure it out later."

Kibo: Alright. Here.
He pulls a golden pendant from his pack, and ties the spirit floating around his head to it.
Kibo: That'll protect your soul from leaving your body, as well as give you some protection. Let me see your hand.
He pulls out the pen Storm had given him in Calatoina, and draws two runes, one on her index finger, and one on her middle. They fade into the skin, leaving no mark of them ever being there.
Kibo: Just touch those two fingers to this pendant, and that spirit'll appear to protect you. Trust me, this spirit is a very good friend of mine, and'll protect you regardless of the challenge.

Kibo pulls down his collar, revealing an identical pendant on his chest.
Kibo: I've also worked them into the building of the ship. They're in between the ribbing, inside the wheel, and within the rudders. They're easy to make, and irreplacable when you need them.

Gwendolyn watches all this with amusement. For some reason, it seemed to remind her of her lessons with Tia Dalma. She remembered how she had run away from the crew and come back stronger than ever. All of it had happened so recently. It was strange for her. Quite strange.

Natasha sat up. She quickly removed the dagger from her right boot and threw it onto the deck. It's blade was glowing red with heat...but it's wooden handle was oddly cool.
Natasha smiled to herself, now aware of what her scar was trying to tell her.

Gwendolyn laughed and waved the pendant away with her hand.
No, thank you. I believe my soul is pretty stable without the pendant. But is that pure gold?
