You can only have one set of crushing claws. I reccomend one similar to mine if you are looking for a really beastly one. Get it a gun for those turns it hasn't quite reached combat.

ubergeist On a different note, I played a game of 40k this weekend My army:6 warriors, 26 gaunts, 16 hormagaunts carnifex, hive tyrant His army:10 thousand sons, 2 aspiring champion sorcerers, sorcerer lord, 10 flamers, defiler, predator. Almost all my units were massacred at range, the warriors and carnifex dying before they reached combat. The few remaining gaunts nailed the flamers at the middle of the bord and were also slain afterwards. The true champion was my tyrant, who reached one unit of thousand sons, killed the hero and the remaining sorcerer, tghe defiler charged and I killed that too, and followed up to the other unit of thousand sons. I killed them and then destroyed the predator with a hit from the tyrant' venom cannon. Welcome to playing 'Nids. Gaunts dying in droves without ever getting to melee or firing range is pretty much a given with many armies. How big a game was this and what was your equipment? Well, I can only wonder exactly what you gave your carnifex that . He should have had a 2+ save, T7 and 5 wounds, not lending him to dying easily. And nice shot with the Venom Cannon. You have to get pretty lucky to "one shot one kill" a vehicle with it. Was your Tyrant winged?

ubergeist Army list. Hive tyrant:acid maw adrenal glands ( both kinds) enhanced senses, extended carapace, flesh hooks, toxin sacs venom cannon and scything talons. 6 tyranid warriors: adrenal glands x 2, enhanced senses, extended carapace, flesh hooks, toxin sacs , death spitters ans scything talons. Arranged in two squads of three. lictor 34 Genestealers! cool extended carapace, fleshhooks, scuttlersand toxin sacs. 26 "Shredguants" adrenal glands x 2, extended carapace toxin sacs and fleshborers 1 squad of 14, one of 12 16 Hormagaunts: adrenal glands x 2, extended carapace, flesh hooks, leaping 5 ripper swarms : adrenal glands x 2, extended carapace, flesh hooks, leaping 3 raveners: scything talons, rending claws, devourers. biovore: all mine types Snerg the fangorious carnifex: adrenal glands x 2, bonded exoskeleton, enhanced senses, extended carapace, regenerate, reinforced chitin, spine banks, toxin sacs, tusked, barbed strangler, crushing claws. please evaluate and advise me one what to buy next. EDIT: roughly 2500 pointsActually, looking back at this list, you can't have both types of Adrenal Glands. You have to either choose +1 I or +1 WS, because you can't have more than one of the same biomorph.

The carnifex died because there's some tzeench power that's strength 8 and ap 2. It was annoying.

ive just completed converting my hive tyrant to have wings, however it is now a bit pricy at 240 points. this wont work ina 500 point battle, so does any1 have any ideas how i can include 1 and still have some decent troops?
i have given it that warp shield thing (2+ save) and thats quite pricy should that go?
Has any1 got a 500 point army list including a winged HT i could look at?

I have a question about the nids bioweapons. When you add attacks beacsue of scything talons do those attacks also count as the roles you do for rend claws as well or do you role those seperately?

When you add attacks beacsue of scything talons do those attacks also count as the roles you do for rend claws as well or do you role those seperately? Any modifier to stats is rolled ON the rending claws. it's like.. if I had a chaos marine with daemonic talons and gave him daemonic mutation, it'd be +1 to his attacks with the talons.
