:::Cora sat in her room, platform of her eating area. There wasn't much to do...she'd already excersized for two hours...there was no one to serve or protect. She felt a little weary about leaving to room to go back to the main area in the Brink...she wasn't sure if she could handle too much more learning for the time being.:::
There's nothing else to do... :::She pouted....perhaps it would be useful to brush up on her investigatory skills:::
:::She cracked open her door and peeked out...no one in sight. She moved out:::

:::She made her way to the main area. Her first stop, the key wrack.
Once there she examined the names. Tavin, Nyx, Namida, Maggie...among others... Then she came across Officer Tac's key:::
...Tacitus Nusradai.... that is his full name....
:::she looked over. Next to it was the name Torment Nusradai:::
Mmm...yes. The same house name...father and son....

*looks up from her sewing at the sound of somebody there, a little surprised to see that she'd flickered into the Brink without being aware of it* Oh, heavens . . . *sets her sewing down on the table and rises, tense, but making the effort to recall her manners* Good day te ye.

:::Cora spins on heal, to see a somewhat familiar face before her:::
Oh, good day Maggie. :::Cora attempts to curtsy the way she pictured Maggie doing so when they met first....she still looked very clumsy doing it:::
How is it you feel?

*cannot help but smile a little* Ye need not curtsy te me, m'lady, ye're undoubtedly of a higher class than I am.

:::Cora looked up thinking...what does class mean here anyway...?:::
You are a respectable citizen and I will treat you with respect. I am a law enforcer. I serve you...
:::she looked over Maggie's strange appearance:::
I have seen clothes like yours in history programs. You seem to be of more ancient descent than the other's I've met here.

Yes... it seems that I come from a time far after everyone else...
So tell me of yourself, Maggie...you appear uneasy here.
:::Cora appeared concerned...she could smell a nervouse breathe from a mile away:::

*lets out a sad little laugh* I am. *her eyes rest on the door for a moment before returning to Cora* Te be honest, I want te leave. And part o'me wishes ne'er to return. *shakes her head* But I daresay 'tis not the answer.

...I don't blame you for wanting to leave if anything has happened to you the way it has happened to me...but I feel I must learn from this place...
If it is not forward of me...what has made you so uneasy here?

*hesitates* 'Tis something of a long story. *pauses, looks at her in concern* Ye said something happened te ye? *looks alarmed* Have ye . . ye have not encountered the Seraphim, have ye?

I don't know anything of any 'Seraphim'... :::the thought shook her a little:::
I had the misfortune of meeting an Officer Tacitus...he was ill of the mind and forced himself on me. His son, Torment, who I met alongside you, explained to me a bit of the situation...he is a good man, Torment. So I have decided this place is not all bad.
:::it wasn't as hard to talk about anymore...she was more concerned about helping Maggie if she was in need:::

*frowns, but at least seems less frightened*
*sits down and takes a steadying breath, clasping her hands together in her lap* This place . . . 'Tis been well o'er a year now since I first came here. The Brink is the most incredible and most terrifying place I know. Ye've only just begun te appear here, have ye not?

it's been a few weeks in my time... but I've appeared here three times thus far. I feel...as though this place draws me to it, and wants me to stay for it makes me as comfortable as it can.... but I've never been more afraid in my life.
:::thinks to herself:::
But a hero is someone who is not afraid to be afraid...that is courage, and that is my test. I will not fail. :::realizes that Maggie has no idea what she's talking about::: I am sorry. I didn't mean to trail off that way.
You still have not told me what frightens you. Please, let me serve you. I can only protect you if you let me.

*listens to what Cora says, somewhat puzzled, but thoughtful, repeating the words to herself in a murmer* Not afraid to be afraid . . .
*looks down at her hands, uncertain how to respond to the request* There are . . . dangers, to this place. There is a conflict here on a grander scale than I can even fully fathom. It . . . it overwhelms me. I dinna know where te start, how I could tell ye of all of it . . . *frowns again* But, I daresay, if ye continue te appear here, ye shall learn of much of it for yerself.
