Ellisandra

"O, yes ofcourse your rooms" Elly kept the smile for the child, the only soft spot she had for humanity. She envied there innocents and wish she could live in there naievty. She blocked the thought out of her head before she became depressed and helped the man with a limp by caring a small bag. It was mutch but it was something to make him move faster and away from the large crowd of people in the damn lobby. She turned her back to them and started for the stairs. Almost uncounsciully she bega to use her magic to summon a small spirit to dance behind her. It was to keep the child attention and entertain her for the moment. It was something she rembered her mother use to do for her.

As Elly went up the stairs she tried to keep her face calm and not think of her mother, or else she was afraid she would become emotional around people and she didn't want that. That would make them feel pity for her and make them try to help her making her look even more pathetic. She would rather die than have that happen to her. As she reached the top of the stairs she pointed to two rooms next to each other. "Those are the rooms, go along child and pick one you'd like." She tried her hardest to give an earnest smile that wouldn't scare the girl and thought she did preety well. The small spirit of water still danced but was now dancing around the little girl instead of leading her. When the girl moved far enough Ellisandra spoke to the others, "I need not remind you all that the festival is coming soon and we have very little time to do what we need to do, so don't go slacking off when there are things to do." She turned her eye for a moment to the one who seemed to do nothing, but follow the others. She then looked to the rest and asked "So it is clearfor all for the day what will each of us be doing?"

"Go away!" Tiel screamed at the voice in her head, her head lifting up to stare right at the spot on the roof where Sacros was perched. No, she couldn't see him, in fact, she had no idea he was there, but the shadows had a wrongness, something that wasn't right just there. "This isn't my darkness. Go away."

"Please..." she turned to the magi around her. "Make him go away." Her eyes were frightened, and she didn't know what she was asking. She just didn't want that voice in her head, dripping with thinly concealed malice toward the entire world.

Her father, meanwhile, had put an arm around her shoulders at her scream. "Tiel, what's wrong? What happened?" He followed her gaze, but could see nothing. He stared accusingly at Rhyvus. "Is this your doing?"

In the streets of Eastern Laburnum there walked a young, red haired girl. On the belt that was around the waist of the blue dress she wore, there were two pouches. One containing her money and another containing random trinkets. There was also a sheath containing a dagger, which was one reason why she didn't mind being alone amongst the many questionable citizens of the city. The fact that she had been raised in the city and her bold nature contributed to that too, as well as her minor powers in Water magic. At the least, she could cast a puddle of water and then freeze it, causing a dangerous person to slip and letting her get away.

Typically when she wandered around like this, she would sell the items she carried with her for a little money and perhaps play a bit, but at the moment she seemed to be searching for something with her blue eyes. Now where did he get off to that quickly? Grumbling a bit, the girl continued her search through various outdoor shops lining the streets.

As she saw the Light mage from earlier come back to the tower entrance, she finally stepped forward towards him, her voice a little stronger than before that the sorrow was evident in her tone as she spoke.

"Sumimasen, Sempai"

Once in front of him, she bowed curtously to him before looking up at him. She wasn't exactly sure of his title but he was at least a few years older and seemed in some position of respect, as well as having earned her own respect by his treatment of the spirits he commanded. Hoshimi simply waited to be acknowledged or not before speaking further.

(( *Getting this out of the way first...* ))

"Hmm...?" Sol muttered to himself as he looked to the girl, not knowing what to say to her, though not wanting to simply leave her.

He had done all that he could for her father figure, as it seemed, and though the poison was out of his system and most of the infection that had taken root in the wound over the past few days had been dealt with, the man's strength would have to see him through from here on. Sol had healed the man's body, but he had lost much strength, and, as he had been unconcious for a long while, Sol had his doubts about how great a reserve that was...

"Eh... hai, annoko?" he said after a short pause to try and find the words. He had never really learned the language, though he had picked up bits and pieces from the easterners who had come through the temple. His studies had been focused upon the spirits, mainly, and their effect upon Gaians, and had never taken much time to look into customs or languages. Most of those who came to Laburnum spoke common anyway, and he seldom journeyed beyond the city limits.

(( *feels so unloved* stare Gotten out of the way...hmph...))

arrow Light Temple, courtyard

Seeing the light mage have trouble with the eastern tongue as well as to call her a little girl, she blushed a brillant shade of red, the flush aggrivated by how pale of a skin tone she had for an eastern.

"Gomen, Sempai...err.. Apologizes Wise one" her tone hestitant and slightly terse as she hadn't much of a chance to practice her own Western and her common was seldom used as well."...I have a slight need to speak to you...or someone."

Hoshimi bowed again, it wasn't as if he could know her own standing in the Water Temple now was it. She didn't have much of a temper usually but the last week or so had aggreviated her normally sweet despostion slightly and she had this man to thank for what had been done.

"My sempai has passed into the Light's embrace..." her words choking slightly even tho she put as dignified of a front as possible, equal to that of a priestess addressing someone even tho her eyes showed how much it pained her. Her back was straight and she held no fear but she did need assistance as she had not a clue what to do other than as she had done. "I have preserved the body, but I know not what else to do"

Hoshi glanced over to the few casualties that had not been removed yet, a soft sigh at the loss before glancing back to Sol. "I also wish to be of any assistance that I can" inclining her head once more respectifully.

It was clear that he had said or done something to provoke this reaction from her when the young water mage's face turned bright red in responce, though that thought was quickly pushed to the back of his mind as Sol heard the girl air her troubles and concerns.

It had seemed that the unfortunate man was far too gone to have been saved. The thought of another life passing on this day, after so many had been wrongfuly attacked by the intruder that had come into the temple, was a sad thing. Right now, in the back of his mind, the Sage could think of nothing else of watching that rogue demon brought to justice for the atrocities he had committed today, but those thoughts were never let to see the light of day, and were pushed aside so that he could attend to the concerns that he saw evident in the young water mage's face.

The Sage raised his left hand up slightly, the red-trimmed sleeve of his robe falling down his forearm halfway as the balance of it shifted, and Sol let his hand fall softly onto Hoshimi's right shoulder.

"It's alright to be sad..." the light mage said to the young water mage as he forced a weak smile to his face, "...you don't have to pretend for our sakes."

She nodded slowly, a small smile of gratitude at his kindness even in the face of what had happenedbecause of the horrible being who had attacked such a peaceful place. Perhaps it was naive but she couldn't help but dislike the idea of hurting people who were only trying to help others. "We never spoke of it..." her soft water colored eyes glancing down at his hand on her shoulder.

"I have been expecting it for a while" the small bit of hope she had that he would be okay lost now as she spoke aloud the words making her realize he was gone.

"Please, let me assist in anyway I can" her voice almost a whispered plea that would have been missed if Sol hadn't been standing as close as he was to her small body. Her eyes silently pleaded with him to allow her to do something to repay his kindness. Besides it wasn't as if she had anywhere to go.

"Of course, though there isn't much left to do, a hand is always welcome," the Sage responed to her, letting his hand slip away and back to his own side, where the sleeve of his robe fell down again to almost conceal it within the folds of the white fabric.

"Follow me," Sol said softly to the girl as he brushed a strand of hair away from his face with his right hand before returning that to his side, and he began to walk slowly away from where she had approached him and, instead, towards the large congregation near the South Tower that had gathered; all those who were not seriously wounded had been brought together there so that the magi could heal their wounds and help them in any other way that they could. If nothing else, there should at least be a few left over who hadn't fully recovered. However little there was for her to do, Sol understood that it was important to the girl that she at least do something, both to 'pay her debt' that she felt she owed to the temple for taking in her and her master, as well as to distract her from where her idle thoughts might lead durring this time of loss...

arrow What he wrote xp

Hoshimi followed after him, her steps light and quiet. A perfect picture of grace and dignity that would do her Sempai proud. She was a priestess of the Water temple, like her mother before her or so Tsai had said and she would do her proud. The rest of her family didn't matter. Tsai had told her that her mother hadn't wanted to give her up but her father had insisted. At those thoughts running through her head, she reached up and grasped the necklace at her throat the gem glowing slightly through her fist clenched around it.

Glancing around she saw not much she could do and her shoulders stiffened slightly as she tried to keep up her resolve. Her hand slipped from the necklace and her hands went to her side as she stepped beside Sol. "I suppose there is nothing for me anywhere" Not speaking to him so much as simply speaking her mind, tho he would be more than close enough to hear easily. "It's all gone....". But still she did not cry, she had every reason to but she also knew she would not let herself or she would never stop. The only family she had left was gone and she had no purpose now.

She glanced back at Sol, her slightly forced smile breaking a little. Deciding the man looked troubled enough by the recent events, she changed her mind and simply bowed "Thank you for your time, Sempai" Before turning and walking away into Lab's mass of humanity.

arrow Crazy Edward's Steel and Sagery. "We do magic, and we do metal. For wood, visit our sister store: 'Crazy Stephen's Wood and Wizardry.' "

Viken walked into the smithy and smiled at the old man behind the counter.

Hello there. What can I do fer ya?

Viken set the slagged sword down on the counter.

A long time ago, you made a sword for my great-grandfather, Kell McLeod.

Yes, I remember. What did you do to it?

Some person attacked the light temple, and when I stood against him, this is what happened to it. I was barely saved by a traveler.

*low whistle* Hm, word of that kinda spread out to here. Wasn't he some kind of Dark mage or sumthin'?

Apparently. Can you reforge this sword for me?

Can I reforge it? Hell yes! And i'll spiff it up for ya so if you run into that dark guy again, you can give him a nasty cut 'er two.

How long will that take?

Well, by the state this sword is in.... An hour.

Only an hour?

Well, since this sword is shot to hell, I'll get you one of my best. It's a derivative of the original design. It'll take me an hour to get the mojo into it though.

Thanks Hank.

But if you get this one wrecked, the next one won't be free.

Alright. I'll be careful. *smile*

Yeah. You really are Kell's grandson. He got that same smile when he made that same promise. I won't say what happened.

Viken shook the man's hand, and walked out of the forge. He walked back towards the temple and decided to offer his services to help defend it.

Sacros smiled as she panicked "My child, if you won't join me" his voice now he a scary kindness to it. Haunting almost "Maybe, you will join THEM!" as he said the last word images of people he had killed flashed through Tiel's head. They kept flashing for about a minute. Sacros smiled, standing up and looked at Tiel "Embrace the darkness, before it consumes you" he said looking at her "It is in you to be dark, others will try to stop you getting to darkness, i will help you embrace it, be one with the darkness, come with me my child, follow me" his voice now had a touch of mesmeric to it. Trying to lure her to him.

Through the gate that opened onto the plains stroad a dirt covered figure that loomed over others, many of them quickly moving in directions opposite the large and heavily armed figure. The figure stopped just inside the gates, the large axe that bumped against his left hip stopped as he stood still. He pushed back a wolf's head cap to reveal a shaven and equally dirt covered head. Gaven found his gaze was attracted to the view of the city before him. It was breathtaking, as he had never seen so many people in one place in his lifetime. He stroad forward, his size gauranteeing him space in the still crowded streets of the city as he looked about in amazement that seemed rather child like. Eventually though the strains of traveling such a long way here caught up with him and he found himself looking for an inn to stay at, though he was having a hard time deciding exactly where to go. He remembered from conversations with travellers about a famous inn somewhere in the city. He had been looking forward to staying there.

Confronted with this whole hour with which to occupy himself, Viken originally pointed himself at the temple.

He stopped and slowly looked around, seeing if anything seemed to grab his attention.

Nothing...

'Oh well,' he thought.

He continued to the temple where he was greeted by a sour-faced man about his age.

Sir, what business do you have here today?

I was returning to my room. And to talk with the top person here to see if I can help around here.

Well, wander around for a while, i'm sure you'll find who you are looking for.

Viken nodded and headed inside. And he did as the man suggested, and simply wandered from area to area, completely unsure of who he was looking for. A high priest? or priestess? As he wandered he ran across a group of individuals, one who seemed to be the "head honcho."

Viken slowly turned and walked away, not wanting to interrupt. Apparently, he was in the presence of the high priestess.

'Ooop, wrong time McLeod. Maybe you can find a bar to hang in, or a barfight to enjoy...'

Viken walked back through the entrance and let chance guide his destination point.

arrow Outside Hefter's Haven

Mick looked over at Rigel, the unsuspected addition to a two-person party that had been with each other since they were kids. It made Mick wonder for a moment just what Rigel's childhood was like. If he had wanted to, he could- no. Not now. There were other matters to attend to.

If we had meant under different circumstances... we'd probably still try to kill each other.

Feel honored, Rigel. You're about to feel a small sample of the higher powers of the moon mages.

Mick closed his eyes and, a few moments later, he opened them, looking directly at Rigel. The hitman's illusion had begun.

Mick could picture what Rigel was seeing. One of the golden-clad soldiers, mid-confusion, suddenly snaps awake. Mick and Espa have surprised looks on their faces. Mick looks to the top of Hefter's Haven and points. It's another guard, and he has thrown a stone to awake that soldier. Both the soldier on the roof and the awoken soldier withdraw whistles, blowing out a piercing shrill.

If Rigel had even attempted to do anything, he would found himself unable to move. A strong, thick-looking good sameritan had snuck up from behind the hitman and put him in a detaining hold. Or at least that's what Rigel would believe to be true, for this level of illusion tricked the brain into believing all that it saw. If the illusion was fire, than the target would believe they had burned themselves if they touched the "hot" flames.

In the illusion a dozen or so soldiers quickly file out of Hefter's Haven, surrounding Mick and Espa. What would happen next Rigel would be unable to see, for a soldier has approached him and strikes him hard in the neck, a paralyzing move.

If it all worked out, then Rigel's mind would be in a vulnerable position, able to be tampered with by Espa. If it didn't... well... Mick would have to think up a better excuse than Espa's time of the month, that was for sure.

But Mick had other things to worry about, although it was a much easier task. The mage focused his edit to the illusion of the soldiers. Now, the trees were sprinkling golden starlight upon the soldiers, and a pixy was flying about saying, "Be careful! Be careful! That starlight makes asleepy! Asleepy!!" Mick probably didn't have to do that much to dupe these soldiers' minds into a state of vulnerability, but Mick wasn't going to take chances.

he added, looking over at Rigel.
