I play alto, tenor, bari, and was learning soprano before it broke...oh well...those were just for fun...I played them in pep band... I also play Mellophone, French Horn( which has a beautiful sound...if played correctly), Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, basics on the flute, and I am going to do something on bass drum for this year's half time show...as well as Clarinet and Mellophone...so it should be fun.

Red Xes I feel helpless in my class. I have this amateur saxophone player sitting next to, I have been playing for 6 years, he has been only been playing for 3....anyways, the kid is an idiot. He sat there, playing with his boogers and he believes that there is a light bulb in his saxophone, he also believes he has a v****a but thats a different story. ANyways, he is the ONYL alto saxphone on 2nd. Serves him right but the only word he would say during the practices for our concert was F***, F****, F*** Off....and he just kept going. I took his music rearranged it and threw it on the floor and then my friend stomped on it. Then I kicked it across the floor. I just want to tak ehi little head and shove it in his saxophone, but I would probably go to jail for hurting a mentally ill person. xD That's mean but I feel like doing that to one of our Euphonium players... sweatdrop

Hey guys! We just had our small ensembles concert yesterday (saxophone, clarinet, and french horn quartets, flute quintet, and percussion ensemble) and I have a recording of one of our sax quartet songs! I think I did pretty well up until the part at the end were i squeaked X_X. If you wanna listen to it, it's at www.angelfire.com/mb2/porygonix/song.mp3 . I'm the one that has the melody most of the time. biggrin BTW, is there a thread in here to put recordings on?

That's awesome! Our awards ceremony isn't until June. Hmm. I better damn well get something because I worked my a** off this year! scream xd Also, apparently the jazz band does something called the "Sax Awards" (because it's run by a few of the saxophones) which is basically all gag awards. I don't know if they're doing it this year, but I know they did last year.

I like the melody at the beginning and at the end! , but the chords at the beginning didn't sound...good, but I'm assuming that's how it's supposed to sound. xd domokun

The song is called Irish Suite. I think the chords are supposed to sound like bagpipes (which sound bad). biggrin I have access to the peice, but only my part. I found it on SheetMusicPlus.com, though. LOVE that site. Here ya go!

Hey! I play alto only because my director is making me... but my secret ambition is to play saprano, and have this huge kick-butt solo and screw it up at the concert, cause, you know, thats something I would do.

Every band I've been in has been waaaay alto-heavy. I've only been in two bands, though... middle school and high school... and my middle school is my high school's feeder school so its mostly like the same band.. but still! I can't even imagine a band with only one alto.

I wish it were back to one because the freshman alto is... yeah. >> I don't think there are words.
