((I'm responding to Damian here, as a note for him)
Ki saw him coming, and knew that this wasn't the guy hiding for two reasons. One, he was the one that had the "plant". Two, the hiding guy was still there. He told Damian, "Yes, that will be great. I am pretty good in all of the elements, but having more people that specialized in certain ones will be best."
