I back away from the door and turn to the others "well, this door doesn't look as if it's been used recently. I don't think we're going the right way. Perhaps we should go back the way we came, and try to find another path. What do you all think?"

As you consider heading back, you suddenly hear another door creaking loudly, just beyond the door you were examining. This is accompanied by heavy booted foot falls, and a louder thud.
Even if this door has been unused, someone has just entered the room beyond, and the second sound was like something heavy splashing into thick mud.

"okay, I don't know what that is, but maybe it's what we're after. I guess this could be a "shortcut". Or maybe it's someone who's been trapped down here too. Either way, I think it's time we see what's behind this door." I hold my breath, and open the door quickly, hoping to catch whatever's in there by surprise.

You open the door, which creaks loudy on it's hinges. You now know exactly what the horrible smell is.. The room beyond contains a variety of trash and refuse; rotting animal bones, slime-encrusted mulch, and rusty equipment. There is also a large centipedal creature, with with 8 wicked tentacles in the pile of refuse. A series of holes can be seen in the ceiling. There is also a very large man here, apparently he is just now realizing that the creature is going to attack him.
The man stands a full 7 feet 8 inches, towering nearly to the ceiling of the 10 foot tall chamber. His braided, black hair reaches well past his neck, ending at his upper back. His skin is a deep brown color. His brown eyes seem to sparkle with wisdom beyond his years, while his body ripples with strong muscles, making him seem more like a statue than a person. He wears studded leather armor and carries a longsword and morning star.
Two other doorways can be seen in the south and east walls. You are entering through the southern door. The southern door is open.
Creature's Initiative
18 + 2 init = 20
Anyone who will be helping the man should roll initiative and post actions.

I see the scene inside the room, and realize that the smell is the least of our worries. Knowing that the creature could be trouble for the man, despite his incredible size, I don't even give it a seconds thought.

I rush through the room towards the creature, and jump into a jump kick towards the creature.
