I just spent all morning looking at nurses shoes.
neutral Somehow, I think this should bother me but the only thing I can say is "Why would any sane person wear clogs in an ER?"

The only thing my high school did well was lose, and we couldn't even get that right.
The last year I went there, the football team won their first game in something like twelve years. If we hadn't done that, we would've had the longest losing streak in the nation.
Oh yeah, and people like me were on the Academic Bowl team.

Ah. I just never paid attention to the football. Sure, there were lots of people gallivanting about with short skirts and large banners, but I was more concerned with getting my Baccalaureate.

There's nothing wrong with feminism. Any sort of activism is alright in my book, so long as they make a good point. It helps to remind me that there are people out there that are actually applying their mental power to some sort of change in society.

The thing I love the most is the close relationship between the gay rights and the feminist movements. Both are gender-related. The former seeks the rights of people to love their same gender, the other seeks the rights of people to take on and assimilate the characteristics generally associated with the opposite gender without discrimination or ridicule. I strongly believe that once we achieve the wholeness of the goals in one of the two movements, the other's goals will be achieved automatically.

The victory in one will spell victory in the other.

I couldn't agree more. Unfortunately though, those people against such movements, are the ones that still run the United States (even though, supposedly we the people have the power). This is why I've never voted in any election, because not a single candidate that I've seen, has expressed any support for gay rights. If anything, both Bush and Kerry have expressed the same opinion on gay rights. The only difference is, Bush thinks it needs an amendment to make it clear that gays aren't welcome. While Kerry thinks it just needs laws. This is why I wouldn't votef or either of them. And, if Ralph Nader had a shot at winning the election, I would reconsider. But, as an independent, he has as much a shot as Ross Perot did when he ran.

Matiko, you're the reason good people don't think they matter.

Maybe if you voted, the third party person would have more of a chance of winning.

You know, the people DO have power. WE chose who gets to lead the NATION.

So Suck it up and go vote for the third party.

I wish Carol Mosely Braum (I don't have the slightest idea how her name is spelled or even it's Carol) had stayed in the race. She was awesome on the NPR democratic debate thing.

When they asked about gay rights, all of the canidates sort of hopped around the subject. She was the only one that gave an opinion. I'm not going to quote her, because I'll get it wrong, but she said to the effect of "saying that gays can have a civil union but not get married is claiming the whole 'seperate but equal' thing we had during segregation. It's not right in the least. They have the right just as much as we do." Something like that, anyway. She was awesome.

Unfortunately, she was a strong black woman with feminist tendencies. She had way too much to prove. She really just needed to calm down a little. Anyway, she would've totally had my vote.

because i feel lonley and i need comfort!

I think that it is much healthier for a person to comfort themselves than for them to rely on other people for it. Nobody wants to date someone just because that person wants to be comforted. That's using them. What do they get out of it?

If you say "They get to be my boyfriend!" I think you're in entirely the wrong mode of thought about relationships.

Curses, I've been beaten to it before I was dragged out at 8 for a dinner that I didn't eat.

Exactly. My dad is constantly bitching about how horrible our elected officials are, but he doesn't vote. I personally think he doesn't have the right to complain if he didn't even take the time or the chance to express his dissatisfaction, even if it is an "x" in the Undecided. That's why I'm voting in every damn election I can.

What makes it even better is there are municipal and provincial elections of some sort later this year, in addition to the earlier federal election.

"Never" is such a strong word. Having no confidence that you can find someone makes it worse. I've never had a boyfriend. Sure, it gets lonely, but you can't let that get to you. Personally, I firmly believe that a relationship should be equal, whether it be directly or some sort of balance is found.

Think about it, if you had a boyfriend to comfort you, what would you offer them in turn? It seems very one-sided that you benefit and they only get to be your boyfriend. I'm not saying unconditional love and emotional support is a bad thing, but I'm left with the feeling that he would be left with the daunting task of filling that loneliness by himself. Having a boyfriend id extra, they aren't necessary to your survival. If you can't stand to be alone for a bit, you need to find out why and what qualities about yourself make it so difficult.

That's what I've been doing the past two days. I'm taking off today for the long weekend, the orientations and "success sessions" have thus far been either useless or extremely entertaining.

Anyway, like I said an hour ago, BED! *dives into bed*
