dose red garados even count considering you find it halfway through the game everytime?

Yes the Red Gyrados does count, it is a shiny pokemon, it does the sparkle intro like all the shiny pokemon do. Since "Shiny" isn't the offical term, its more "Alternate colored".
I have 195 pokemon as of last night (May 24th).

I'd have to dig out my game... but I remember catching a green Zubat that I evolved to a green golbat... I can't remember what level I left it at though... >.>;;

I've been playing yellow a bit lately, catching the "legendary" birds. I just got Moltros. I'm working on Zapados, but he doesn't seem to want to be captured.
I lost my Silver game. The internal battery that saves the memory is dead. So I can play it, but I'd have to not turn the game off if I want to get anything done with it.

Wow I wish I had that much time to devote to a game, but sadly I don't. [ sweatdrop ] I have my attention divided by studying, writing, drawing, other video games, and work....

Well there are some games you could play for short periods of time and still keep up. Like Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced. A battle in that game could easily take up 5-10 mintues. then once the battle is over you sae and do the same thing again next time. I used to play that game on my break at work.

Ah but if only.. I only have a gameboy color (ok I have two actually) and only a few games for it. I'm kind of stuck with the games I have too, I can't really get anymore at the moment. If I could I would have bought a DS by now.
However I can't transfer my pokemon from Gold to Diamond/Pearl so I don't think I'd be happy..
Unless I could transfer them to what ever the GBA game.. damn nintendo and they refusal to be backwards compatable.

Well you could, but it would be a very round-about way of doing it.
you would have to trade with ruby/saphire and then import them to diamond/pearl.

That is what I considered before. Having 230 pokemon in one game that I can't do anything with kind of sucks away at the idea of getting basicly the same game on the DS within which my only real joy of playing comes from having everything.
