Jack watched the interaction happening between the siblings when Sun walked into the caves. She stayed back and waited for Shannon to come to her. Jack realized that he was extremely grateful to have Sun on the island with them. She was a master with all sorts of herbal remedies which would offer a lot of comfort to the survivors in the months, maybe even years to come. He didn't know what he would do if he didn't have some of her ideas hanging around. Jack stared unblinkingly at the wall of the cave behind the two women. He decided to take the momentary opportunity to go and see how Boone was doing. He walked over to the younger man and leaned over him.
"Hey Boone. How are you holding up?" Jack inquired.
He visually inspected Boone for signs of developing complications as he waited for an answer. So far, Boone seemed to be doing extremely well. Better than expected, actually.

Sun looked up at Shannon and nodded. She unfolded the leaf that she carried the herbs in. "If you put these herbs in tea, it'll help with the nausea. So, I guess we can get some water and get it warm, and use the herbs." She handed the herbs to Shannon, and apologized for not being able to stay and help more at the moment.
(Yeah, i gots to go now.)

"I'm doing alright. Hopefully better by tomorrow"
Boone smiled abit and sighed. He looked over to Sun who had just walked out and looked back to Shannon.

Before Sun left, she added, "Oh, and make sure to eat more fish and fruits. (for vitamin b) It'll help reduce the nausea."

Shannon nodded and smiled at Sun as she folded the herbs back up in the cloth. Well she could eat chocolate now since she wasnt going tp keep her body so perfect for the next nine months. She smiled a little at the thought and waited on Jack and Boone to finish talking.

Jack smiled at the younger man.
"You're already doing much better. It'll be a long time before you're back to feeling one hundred percent, but at least it's a start," Jack said reassuringly.
He smiled and saw Shannon walking back over towards them.
"I'll leave you two alone. If you need anything just call for me," Jack stated.
He nodded once more at Boone before walking away to sit on the outcropping again. Jack realized that no matter how much Shannon didn't want anyone's help, he was going to try and help her. It was in his nature as a doctor, as a human being. It was what he had been brought up to do. Jack sighed and realized he himself had a long, difficult road ahead of him on the island. The whole day had been full of twists and turns, and it was overwhelmingly exhausting. Still, Jack couldn't find it in himself to sleep. He was too restless. It didn't feel right to sleep when there was so much trouble rampant on the island...

He said before Jack walked away. Jack was pretty good at doing what he did, and pretty generous about it. Boone sighed once more and looked at Shannon who was coming back.

Shannon smiled and sat back down on the 'bed'. "Okay, now what was it that you wanted to talk about?" She asked, leaning back a little.

Boone looked at her quietly for a few minutes. He'd give it a shot. Whatever she felt towards him, he would bare with it.
"Look Shannon..you probably don't want to hear this, but I need to tell you."
He looked away before continuing.
"I was able to forget you for a while..but lately, it has come back.."

Shannon smiled and nodded her head. "Okay, and?" She shook her head a little and motioned for Boone to continue.

He shook his head abit. That was stupid of him to have said.

Shannon sat in silence for a minute. "Yeah.." She replied smiling at him and once again grabbing his hand. Maybe this was what she wanted.

He asked, quite surprised. He was expecting the worst..even worst than the worst. He smiled and looked at her.

Jack watched Boone and Shannon from a distance. The two seemed to be doing well. Shannon was smiling, truly smiling, for the first time all day. Jack figured that Boone was the best thing for her at the present. Jack found himself smiling. He saw a little ray of hope. Maybe, just maybe, things would be okay...

Shannon nodded. "Its worth a try.." She chuckled a bit and leaned back a little further, yawning, although she refused to sleep. Shannon still had hold of Boones hand and she gave it another squeeze. She looked ahead thinking. Shannon had a mental image of herself holding a baby and suddenly she didnt feel so empty anymore.
