Response: 91 - Protactinium
Tourmaline was surprised at how factual Wesley was with his presentation. He'd had a couple classes with the guy and most of the time he brushed off presentations and things like that. Pleased with his classmates effort, he launched into his own presentation.
"Protactinium is a dense, silvery-gray actinide metal which readily reacts with oxygen, water vapor and inorganic acids. Because of its scarcity, high radioactivity and high toxicity, there are currently no uses for protactinium outside scientific research, and for this purpose, protactinium is mostly extracted from spent nuclear fuel."
Tourmaline went on for a short time longer, citing a few resources and giving a few facts, but overall it was a short paper and presentation. With that done, he answered a few questions and then sat down to wait for the next student.

Response: Barry looked at awe at the Lego ice sculpture. He let out an audible "woo" to which some in his class looked at him side eyed. He just threw his arms toward the legos with a face that says "BUT THERE ARE LEGOS... HOW ARE YOU NOT FREAKING OUT RIGHT NOW?" He knew that he had to collect as many as he could. He also knew that he wouldn't be allowed to use any of the dangerous chemicals that the science classroom held. He looked down at his claws and wondered if they were sharp enough to do anything. He did manage to carve a bit of ice off the block but that didn't free any of the legos. He frowned deeply before a light bulb went off in his head. He climbed up on the smaller block that he had carved off and nested on it as a mother bird would do. He watched as some water dripped slowly down the block, surely this was not going to be fast enough at this rate he would only get one single lego.
"OH, OH teacher..." Barry motioned toward one of the cabinets where he had seen a bunsen burner being put away. Nothing melts ice faster than fire right? "Could I maybe have you use the burner for me on my block?" He wiggled impatiently as she set it up and the ice quickly began to melt. "There are so many legos!!!" He quickly began to carve more and more pieces off the block and soon had over 75 blocks. "I'm going to make a tower! The biggest tallest strongest tower." He began to choose his blocks color coordinating the layers.

Response: Amie's eyes trailed over the ice sculpture in front of her. "really?" she muttered under her breath. This was so lame, what did teach think they were? They were practically adults. Yet she expected them to get all excited for kids too and actually care about trying to melt ice. She rolled her eyes again, she had expected more from a senior level class than melting ice. She looked around the room and saw others putting on safety goggles and looking at chemical charts. They had smiles on their face and she couldn't help but sneer. "Children." Everyone began to make swift work of the ice collecting legos and letting out cheers as they did. 'i have 10 already how many do you have? 27? How did you get that many already. I need to try that.
Amie knew that the teacher was watching her however so she put her paw on the ice, she knew it would eventually melt. Every time the teacher glanced her way she appeared to diligently be working on the ice in front of her. When in all reality she just was slowly melting the ice around a single lego. "times up!" thee teacher cheered. People started building things with the legos they had found, she set the single yellow block in front of her on the table. "I made a tower," she said in a plain monotone voice.

Response: - 5 legos
Ecco stared blankly at the frozen legos. They were. . .supposed to free them so they could build stuff? Hesitantly, she reached to poke a few of them. The ice was very cold and a chill crept up her arm from the contact. With a shiver she retracted her arm and looked around to see what other students were doing. The few classmates next to her didn't seem to be doing anything other than rubbing them with a blanket, so she gathered up a handful of iced legos and dumped them in her sweater. She spent the next half hour rubbing the ice to try to melt it.
For all her troubles, she ended up with five legos and a soggy sweater. Prickles of tears touched her eyes and she sniffled a bit. The teacher had acted like this was supposed to be fun, right? But her sweater was all wet and she only had five legos. What was she supposed to do with five of them? Not knowing what else she could do, she just stacked them one on top of the other. She had a small tower. Looking around the room, other kids were building little houses or cars and she didn't have enough even to make a medium sized tower. Overwhelmed by what should have been a fun activity, Ecco just started to cry, hiccuping and rubbing at her eyes before the teacher noticed her and came over to see what was wrong.

Narcissus' ears perked up. They were getting to play with legos? In class?? This had to be one of the best classes yet! Now he just had to figure out a way to melt the ice so he could have the legos to play with. Ok, so what if he took half the legos and put some. . .in his tail? No, that wouldn't work. He'd just end up all soggy. Maybe he could ask for a blow drier? That's what they used to get the wet out of his fur after he got a bath. It would probably work on some of the legos too!
After acquiring a blow drier, he spent forever melting the ice on some of his legos. In the end he had forty-one to work with. Pleased with this number, and unwilling to spend more time melting more, he started to build himself a tiny house and a little car and then SMASHED THE CAR INTO THE HOUSE. The rest of the class was spent more or less reenacting this scene with a variety of tiny figures. Then he got to take the legos home!!! And and and, a senior later on gave him some more legos to take too!!

Username: Random Nobody 13 Student Name: Kanda Stage: Junior
Response: 36 legos
Legos? They were supposed to melt the ice around legos and then they could. . build things with them? This seemed more suited to little kids. SHE didn't like legos all that much. Well, at least it would be an interesting lab? Oh! Plus she could try to use some magic to melt it! Her Dad was trying to teach her some pyro magic. This would be the perfect chance to try to utilize it. After all, the teacher hadn't said anything about not using magic.
Pleased with her line of thought, Kanda separated her frozen legos into about four sections and then started on the first. Most of her spells puttered out, barely warming the groups. She ended up with about 36 mostly melted legos, but at that point she was too tired to want to even do anything with them. The other groups she'd made were looking a little melty, but still very frozen. Sighing heavily, Kanda just laid her head on her desk and closed her eyes for a moment. She was going to have to get a snack or something to re-energize for her next classes. Maybe she had a granola bar or something in her bag?

Response: 53 Legos
Before the teacher had even finished explaining what they were going to do today, Hikito was already straining to stay in their seat. She had the perfect idea of what to do. She just needed a big bucket and a bunch of water. The moment the teacher released them to start their experiments, she bounced out of her seat and headed straight to the teacher to get permission to get a bucket. Delighted when she got it, she raced from the room and returned with a good sized bucket.
Dumping about a forth of the iced legos into the bucket, she added water in until the ice was almost completely covered. Then it was just a matter of sitting and waiting. While she did, she filed her nails a bit, irked that she'd almost ripped a nail earlier when she was filling the bucket. It took about as long as it took the ice to melt the legos, but Hikito had a good sized pile at her disposal. With fifty-three legos she made a magnificent looking toy wand. The rest of her iced legos would take much too long to thaw out to try in the rest of class, so she gave them back to the teacher as she showed off her new "wand."

. . .Legos. . . . Legos, seriously? Ambrose rolled his eyes. And let him guess, for melting the ice from them, they got to keep the legos as a souvenir. About two minutes later his prediction came true. Holding back a sigh by the skin of his teeth, Ambrose resigned himself to playing with legos in ice for the next hour of his life. At least he hoped it was only going to be the next hour. If he came back and had to do this a second time next class, he was just going to sit there and let it melt in the air.
Actually, that sounded like a pretty good idea. Settling back into his chair, he picked up a couple of the frozen legos and just fiddled with them. The teacher gave him a Look, but didn't say anything. Technically he was trying to melt them. Just wasn't in as much of a hurry as some of his classmates. He wasn't going to waste time trying to find a safe way to melt the ice nor was he about to whip out some magic to get the job done. Good ole' fashioned body temperature would do the trick.
In the end, he ended up with 9 legos, which he'd pawn off on some kid later on.

Elliah sat for a moment. Thinking of ways that she could melt the ice to get to the legos. Even if the idea of having a bunch of legos afterwards wasn't quite so appealing to her, it was still a nice project and she wanted to do well on it. Looking around, she dismissed using chemicals. That would be unsafe, especially if someone was going to play with the legos afterwards. She could use a bucket of water and some magic to warm the water to melt the ice faster?
Feeling that that would be faster and safer than just doing one or the other, Elliah collected her tools and got to work. In a relatively short period of time she had a bucket full of melted ice and loose legos. Grinning, she pulled her sleeve back so she could start to pull them out. In the end she had sixty four legos with which to do as she pleased. Since she still had a bit of time left before class ended, she started to make a throne and runway.
Well, more technically, a runway to a throne. A handful of "benches" and a decent sized throne took up all her legos. By the time she was done with that class was over and she handed her freed legos over without hesitation. She wasn't wanting to have a bunch of legos taking up space in her room, and she was sure a kid would love to have them.
Response: Ellis bent forward, multiple irises at a level with the edge of his desk. His block of ice looked packed with lego bricks, but he had no idea how to get them out short of waiting for the thing to melt on its own. He glanced over at Ayuu and zer block, not at all surprised to see the grimm working diligently at zer excavation already.
Okay. How was he going to do this?
He contemplated the powerful acids he'd learned about in this very class, dismissing them almost immediately for being too extreme for the job at hand. The easiest thing to do would be to light up his bunsen burner and hold the block above it, but that almost seemed like cheating. He ended up attempting something similar but more covert in the end, running a great deal of electricity through the ice in order to encourage its liquefication.
Once his bricks were freed (several of them having succumbed to significant warping) Ellis got to building, just because he could. It seemed almost expected, and many of the other students around him were doing the same. He ended up with a bridge of sorts, two stubby platforms with a wide base between them. He looked at Ayuu once more as he finished, raising his eyebrows in a question.
"What do you think?"

Response: Upon hearing the details of their assignment, Ayuu got to work immediately, taking a hammer and chisel to the block without any further contemplation. Science had never been zer subject, and mallet-based destruction seemed to be the most straightforward, albeit cold, way to free the bricks that were encased in zer hunk of ice.
As ze plink-plink-plinked zer legos free, Ayuu had plenty of time to consider alternate methods of liberation, just in case they were asked about such things on a future test. Hot water was probably the next easiest, but not nearly as fun. And surely there were some acids that could do the job but... the grimm shuddered. The last time ze had worked with acid on zer own, zer burned off fur hadn't grown back for a month. This really was the best option out of all of them.
By the time Ayuu had freed all of zer bricks from the ice, many of zer classmates had already completed the lesson. Ze turned to see what Ellis had made, grinning rather goofilly at the imp's question. If he had made a bridge, ze would make a car.
"It's lovely, dear," ze said. "I know just the thing to complement it."
