"I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"He couldn't have known just how much it would mean to the girl, but seeing her reaction told him that what he'd told her meant a great deal. That was all that he needed to know that giving her what he could in a short time was the right decision. Somewhere in the city he was doing his part, of that the Boss was certain, and now she would be going to Inaba to try and clean up whatever mess he had made in their defenses and try to bolster their numbers. He hoped that she would succeed...that whatever information he could offer was enough to put her over the edge. He didn't know if that would be the case, but it was all he could do. And he moved back to the warehouse confident that if anybody was able to crack through those two...Hinako with her Shiva and Jungo with his iron fists...it would be the woman who had beaten him fair and square.

"That woman... I hadn't been expecting that demon to aid her. I should have, but... it took me off guard. Because my time is short, I'll kill you..."An escape from Benetnasch's attack had been the only highlight of the time Kei had spent away from Kaori while she challenged the team in Inaba; meeting her back where they had split up near the Terminal when she returned hadn't delivered good news, either. Still, he was happy that she had come back alive, and the next person who went in there to challenge them would have all the more information to work with when they took their shot. That, alone, made her attempt on the Restorer Faction worthwhile.

He could hear the fiery beam of doom just outside of the warehouse and he knew that demons were getting their just desserts for wandering too close to the place where his lovely wife was being kept safe by the Vultures...and the Boss was taking a few minutes to rest his aching muscles and tend to his bruises by laying down on a couch near one corner of the area with his head in her lap, letting her fingers wind through his hair as his breath slowly steadied...his consciousness growing a little heavy, almost fading away into a lovely sleep just there until...

She worried about him, but... she trusted him, and knew he would be able to come back victorious. "Yes. Alright. Good luck... I'll work on getting Trumpeter's help while you are away."

Because my time is short, I'll kill you...""All right, Kaori...I'll stay with you until I've made the preparations to go," the ex-Human Weapon nodded slowly as he gripped the hilt of his sword in his hand, moving with her towards the kiosk where they had summoned the Trumpeter before to settle down into a meditative position...they trusted one another, but he needed to prepare himself before he went into battle lest his instincts begin to take over and blood that was spilled became a fountain upon the floor. Every time he went into battle, if he could help it, he made a point to still his mind...and nearby he could feel her presence working diligently. If anyone could keep him reigned to the person he was, it was her.

"I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"After a while, Shiva had quieted down...but the sounds of battle beyond the gates of their warehouse were still ongoing, Zaou-Gongen cutting down demon after demon without so much as needing to use a skill. It was helping to raise the devil's skill, but it wasn't getting them any closer to summoning Trumpeter. He was still waiting on Rina's plan to go out there and try to convince it again, but she hadn't discovered anything promising...and Mo-Po hadn't reported her ignoring that duty to play Galaga again, at least not in the last 20 minutes. Then again, he could have been sleeping in the canopy for all he knew. Probably was.

Because my time is short, I'll kill you..."He had been meditating peacefully, getting ready to go to fight against the Human Revolution...when his phone rang and he picked it up to answer the unlisted number and found...it was Hibiki on the other end of the line! "Is that right? That is surprising. You said that Makushima had this idea?" his eyes lit up with a small measure of amusement, listening to the last of the situation before chuckling under his breath...this, was a fun diversion, even if it was counterproductive in getting him into a nice, controlled mood. It did make him laugh, and that could not be understated right now.
"Makushima of the Meritocracy Faction is planning to hold a play together with Hibiki-san in order to try and woo Trumpeter into working for them. He thinks they have a chance..." he tried not to chuckle and discredit it, but it was a pretty ridiculous plan, "Amidst all of this, they are holding a play...can you believe it? "I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"It was the first real threat in a while, but it was certainly a big one...Mo-Po had shouted down from the canopy that what looked like the entire Norse Pantheon was moving down the street in their direction with Thor at the head wielding the mighty hammer Mjolnir. They were all talking and clanking tankards and getting ready to compare their spoils in what would surely be a conquest for the ages...but what they were heading towards wasn't a country or an army or even a world full of Frost Giants or some enemy of the Avengers, but the Warehouse of the Vultures! Stepping out of the warehouse alone, Kakyo motioned for Mo-Po to get them in the sights just in case. And he let the power of a devil fill him that wasn't unlike a frost giant in its magical essence, at least. He was going to turn them away or die trying.

Because my time is short, I'll kill you..."His meditation had begun again, the countdown towards his challenge against the Human Revolution once again underway with nothing but himself and his own instincts keeping him from heading to where they were to begin the takedown right from the bottom, all the way to the top. He could imagine the paths that his sword would follow, just inches away from a fatal blow...but enough to incapacitate, wound, defeat without killing. He could imagine the other way as well, but he didn't, not allowing himself to see in his mind the bloody alternatives so long as he could control his thoughts. He saw himself winning...he saw their team growing. He saw a new world...a world where he and Kaori were free.

"I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?"It hadn't been an easy fight, but it was certainly one that he would tell the tale of around the Mead Halls of Valhalla. Red meat would fall off of the bone, the ale would flow into their chalices, a never-ending river. And together as they told these stories of their victories to their grandchildren and grandparents alike in this Hall of Heroes, he would remember this day when he stood against the mighty Thor, Odin, Heimdall, and all the rest of the pantheon and emerged victorious. His lips curled into a smile as he stepped back into the warehouse, not a little loopy from the strike of Mjolnir he had taken almost perfectly on the side of his head...only his arm block between himself and what would have surely been a shattered skull. As it was, it was merely shaken. Which wasn't great. It just wasn't as bad as it could be.

"I have the most loving, beautiful, understanding wife in the world...okay I said it, honey, you can stop poking me now, all right?""It's all right, honey...I'm sure they really do respect you," Kotori smiled sympathetically as she and her husband sat together on the couch near the back of their warehouse and she petted his head gently, trying to soothe away some of his frustration at the continuing lack of respect (or apparent lack) that his Vultures seemed to have for him right now. It was almost crazy, because he was ninety-five percent certain that before this event started their entire group and storyline had been mostly serious. And his leadership as a bona-fide BOSS was beyond contention. Now, it was like the Vultures had become something of a comedy troupe, and he wasn't sure where in the Hell things had taken that turn from drama into Comedy City. Was it after Circuit City or before? "They just have a strange way of showing it..."
He didn't know that he agreed with her on that one, but he had to take her word for it. Because if he didn't believe that, then people were going to die. Starting with Mo-Po. There was something about that boy's face that just needed punched in. Maybe it was the lack of a working lung on one side that made his face so punchable? Did that make sense? It didn't have to. Mo-Po was getting punched, and that was that. ...Probably.
