Xashowd scanned the area. Damn. I should've kept on their tail, or sent two Wind spirits... Xashowd cursed to himself. Clearly the duo found an opening and got away. Xashowd started to examine the area for any lingering trace of magic. Long ago he'd used Dark Portals, and though he no longer used them for travel, he'd noticed that elemental portals tended to link well with both Light and Dark Portals. As the trail ended here, the only possible explanation for them to be gone was that they had warped away.

He noticed the charred floor, and examined it thoroughly. If they left via portal, this would be the spot. Xashowd noted. Given that Leviathan was a Demon, he figured it might've been a Gate of Hell. Momentarily wishing Karen was here, as her fire element would make opening such a gate a breeze, Xashowd sat on the spot and concentrated. He was a little tired from all the running, but he was still good to go for a while. He was determined to find Daenes, so he concentrated on the air around him, mentally combing it for any trace of a portal. Even a small spark would do, as he could latch onto it and use a Wind Warp to bring him to the Portal Daenes had used. He wasn't sure if he'd even find them on the other side, or if a spark even remained, but there was no harm in trying.

*Alright then. Another time, I suppose.*

Xashowd searched for a while, but found nothing. No spark remained. Xashowd sighed in disappointment. At the very least, the hall seemed devoid of Grunnies. He looked around the wall nearby and found a door close the spot he'd been. There was no magic there now, but Daenes could very well reappear there in the future...that, or Xashowd was being too optimistic for his own good. He opened the door, and found a closet of some kind. He quickly scanned the area for any trace of Grunny, but thankfully found none. It seemed the creatures hadn't even been here. Xashowd closed the door behind him, tired from the chase, and began his standard routine placing of warding spells made of wind to keep him from being detected. He also increased the air pressure on the door to ensure it wouldn't move no matter how much force was applied to it, and made a little barricade of Air on the crack under the door to ensure no Grunny got in. With everything in place, Xashowd turned into his Feline Form once again, found a cozy shelf to sleep on, and drifted into slumber, his curiosity filling his thoughts with the events of the night...
