Hansuke watched, doing his best not to cheer for the fact that the Sand Tomb had worked because that would be a little unprofessional of him. ‘He’s trying to hurt Pineco from afar!’ Hansuke watched rocks appear from beneath the ground, throwing Pineco into the air and causing him to fall back down to earth. For a moment, the sand storm weakened, but it returned to being strong after Pineco regained him composure from that fall. It had hurt, but thanks to its Iron Defense, the attack didn’t completely knock out Pineco. “Whew, thank goodness you’re alright Po-pop.” Hansuke shook off his worries so that he could get back to the battle. Now that Timburr was really just a sitting target in the air being bombarded by the sand, Hansuke was forced into using a long range move that would be able to reach Timburr from afar. “Use swift Po-pop!” Pineco began to spin rapidly while on the ground, shooting stars from its confines and sending them upwards towards the Timburr, hoping to make short work of this lumber-wielding Pokémon.
Izo’s battle was going in an interesting direction. He hadn’t exactly expected the Cyndaquil to use a special attack close-range, so he was already preparing for the Cyndaquil to start running up towards Zorua, but when it didn’t, Izo didn’t have time to think of a protection against the lava burst and Zorua was hit, causing it to run around in pain. “Gah, damn! Zoro return!” Izo looked down at his Pokeball and sighed. His Pokémon had just lost this battle, but it wasn’t over yet, there was still one more Pokémon he had that could fight. “Okay, you want to move on to round two? I have another Pokémon that I wouldn’t mind fighting with.” Izo waited for the flames to flicker out before he called upon his next Pokémon: Chikorita, “I choose you Cynthia!” Chikorita emerged from her Pokeball, happy to see herself in the battle zone for her trainer. She would defend his honor most definitely!

Lazarus didn’t like how things were going because once again, Timburr was struck with another swift attack, and the fact that it was constantly being injured by the whirlwind of sand didn’t do anything to make Lazarus feel better about the situation. ‘I might as well let him have this round, he’s clearly won it.’ Lazarus held out a pokeball, “Alright, you won this round, it’s time to move on to round two.” With that, he returned his Timburr and looked at his Pokeball, “You deserve a nice long rest.” Once done with that, he placed the pokeball on his belt buckle before grabbing another, although he didn’t send out the Pokémon just yet. Instead, he waited for the sand tomb to die down before he sent it out, “I choose you Munchlax!” Munchlax emerged from the pokeball but shook its head, almost as though it refused to fight. “If you battle and win, I’ll give you berries.” Still, Munchlax shook its head. “Fine, if you battle at all I’ll give you berries.” That seemed to be the golden ticket, because now Munchlax was ready to go. “Ugh, that’s Megumi for you, she’s a glutton.”
So it seemed like Raiden had won his round, “Good job Clyde.” After returning Cyndaquil to its Pokeball, Raiden couldn’t help but grin at what he’d be fighting: A Chikorita, and by the looks of it, this would be an interesting battle because he had a grass type as well. “Parker, let’s do this!” Pansage emerged from its Pokeball and waved to the Chikorita in a friendly manner, then completely flipped the script and stuck its tongue out at her, most probably because he was trying to provoke her. “I see you’re itching to get started Parker… Fine, use Bullet Seed!” Pansage squeezed its cheeks, shooting out seeds as it did so in the direction of Chikorita.

Hansuke cheered in victory as Lazarus withdrew his Timburr because it meant that Hansuke had actually won a round. “Alright, I think I can do this…” Hansuke withdrew his Pineco who was really happy about winning. After all, he should be considering that the battle was rather tough. Once it was safely back in its Pokeball, Hansuke tossed out his next Pokémon, a Natu. “Alright Nakoda, you can do this!” Hansuke could tell that he was beginning to gain some confidence, although that was probably just for the battle since he’d actually managed to win a round. He wasn’t entirely sure if he’d be able to keep up this winning streak though since Natu seemed to be the type of Pokémon that didn’t really fair well against larger Pokémon like Munchlax, but that was only because Hansuke was judging the Pokémon based off of their size. “Alright use Miracle Eye!” Natu’s eyes began to glow so that it could lock onto Munchlax. Once it did this, Hansuke shouted his next command, “Now use peck!” Natu hopped across the ground, going towards Munchlax so that it could use its peck attack.
As the Pansage came in with a bullet seed, Izo knew that he needed to think fast if he ever wanted to dodge the barrage of seeds. “Alright, use Light Screen!” Chikorita swung the leaf on the top of her head, creating a resistant barrier to special attacks. The seeds slowed down dramatically whenever they went through the barrier, and the fact that Chikorita was grass type as well really downplayed the potency of the seeds. “Cynthia, let’s counter with a Body Slam!” Chikorita began to run towards Pansage, and then when she was a few feet away from him, she jumped into the air and prepared to come crashing downwards on top of him with a powerful body slam attack.

Lazarus was rather confident that this round would go better than the last one because he wasn’t going to pull any punches, especially with Munchlax, whose services costed a fee of berries. ‘I see Hansuke is going to try and come in close range to attack, that’s probably a bad idea on his part since Munchlax would have the upper-hand in a close-combat scenario.’ Lazarus waited for the Natu to get closer and closer before he countered the peck with an attack of his own, “Megumi use Amnesia and then follow it up with Body Slam!” Megumi forgot something irrelevant, allowing her special defense to sharply rise higher. The plan for using that move was to bring up Munchlax’s special defense so that Hansuke would be less inclined to use special attacks from far away since they wouldn’t do much of anything to harm Munchlax. After taking the peck attack, Munchlax leapt into the air before falling downwards in the direction of Natu. If it landed, it would do some serious damage on the Natu.
Raiden was more interested in the battle going on with Chikorita. Because of Pansage’s speed, it could dodge the move like Body Slam. “Quick, move out of the way.” Pansage hopped out of the way before sticking its tongue out at Chikorita once more. ‘I wish he’d stop doing that, it makes him lose focus.’ Raiden decided to ignore it for now since trying to fix a Pokémon in the middle of a battle wasn’t exactly the best thing to be doing. “Parker, let’s use bite.” Pansage nodded happily and jumped towards where Chikorita had landed after missing with the move body slam. Hopefully this would connect because Raiden hadn’t had the chance to test the crushing strength of Pansage’s teeth. ‘If Parker keeps acting immature, he might just lose this battle.’

So it seemed like Lazarus was going to make sure that Natu would have no choice but to fight close range from the Amnesia it just used. ‘There’s no way that I can defeat Munchlax close range, but now using special attacks seems like it’ll take a little bit as well. I wonder what I should do.’ More than ever Hansuke wished that Izo was by his side telling him how to fight this battle, he would know what to do. “Use Psychic and keep Munchlax from falling on you!” Natu’s eyes glowed blue, then, the outline of Munchlax did as well, right before he fell on top of the small bird Pokémon. After the Munchlax’s outline turned blue, he just levitated there, stuck in the air. “Way to go!” Now that Munchlax couldn’t fall on top of Natu, that would eliminate that problem, but still, Munchlax was a heavy Pokémon, so it was hard for Natu to hold him forever. “Nakoda, throw Munchlax and then come back here.” Natu tossed Munchlax using its psychic vision towards his trainer Lazarus. Then, after he did that, Nakoda hopped back to Hansuke, hoping that he did some damage to the Munchlax, although Natu didn’t watch to see where Munchlax landed so it might not have even been hurt. “Use Future Sight!” Natu nodded and lifted its wings into the air before creating a violet ray that vanished the instant it was created. ‘Great, now I just have to wait for it to reappear and harm Munchlax.’
Izo was having an interesting time in his battle against Pansage. The Pansage was out of control in terms of its personality, which could be beneficial to Chikorita. “He’s using bite Cynthia, so use reflect!” Chikorita swung her leaf around, but as she did, the Pansage bit her. Luckily though, the reflect put a layer on her skin that made it impossible for Pansage to penetrate all the way with its fangs. “Okay, now while he’s still biting you, use vine whip, expcept throw him with the vines!” Chikorita shot two vines from around its neck and attempted to wrap them around the Pansage. If it worked, she would lift him up and then throw him back towards his trainer, putting some distance between the two again.

There wasn’t much that Lazarus could do whenever he saw the Munchlax trapped in the psychic energies that were the move Psychic. ‘Hmm, using a psychic move to stop another Pokémon from falling, I like that. That’s some pretty smart thinking, I guess I could learn a thing or two from a scientist as well since he’s a different thinker than I am in terms or using combinations.’ Lazarus watched as his Munchlax was thrown back at him. It was barely able to catch its footing though so the technique didn’t do as much damage. “Alright, use your Amnesia once more.” Munchlax made a focusing face before returning to looking oblivious. “You’re doing good Megumi, let’s try and use a productive move in the event that the worst happens!” Munchlax nodded, but still realized it didn’t know what it was it was supposed to use. “Use Stock pile.” Munchlax nodded and began to inhale a bunch of air, making itself appear a little bit fatter than it actually was.
Meanwhile, the battle with Izo was getting a little bit intense because of how fast paced it was. “Pansage!” Raiden watched as Pansage was pulled off of Chikorita and thrown across the field, back at the feet of Raiden. It didn’t take long though before Pansage hopped back to its feet ready for some more. ‘He may be annoying, but he sure is stubborn when it comes to battling. He doesn’t like to lose.’ Raiden smiled, thinking about how much Pansage reminded him of his first Pokémon, but he shook off such thoughts so that he could put his mind back into the battle. “Alright then buddy, let’s get ourselves ready for a counter attack!” Pansage jumped up and down excitedly before racing towards the Chikorita, listening for any moves that Raiden might call out. “Use Fury Swipes!” Pansage jumped towards Chikorita with claws bared, although deep down it knew that this attack might not work since the reflect move was still active.

It seemed like this round was dedicated to defending his Pokémon, so Hansuke couldn’t help but appear a bit skeptical about why there was no offense, since it was so easy for Natu to just use special attack after special attack until this whole thing was over. ‘I feel like I’m not getting something. I guess I always feel nervous whenever he doesn’t attack though because I don’t think this is the first time he’s done thing.’ Hansuke sighed, deciding it would be best to just ignore it for now, although he kind of wanted to know the reason for stockpiling. All it was good for was swallowing and restoring health. Perhaps Lazarus was just trying to stall the inevitable by healing himself before it was too late. Hansuke didn’t really see the point in that, but then again, it wasn’t really any of his business. “Alright then, Nakoda, use your Haze!” Natu began to flap its wings, creating a thing film in the air that wrapped around the whole battle field. ‘Haze has the power to eliminate every stat change that has even been made this battle, meaning that the move Amnesia that Munchlax has been using is useless now.’ Hansuke smiled, please with the move he had just used. “Now use Psychic!” Natu flapped its wings, attempting to pick up Munchlax once more and slam her into the ground.
The battle between Chikorita and Pansage seemed to be going smoothly. Once again, Pansage was coming in for a close attack, meaning that the move would be relatively easy to counter. Since reflect was up, the swipes of Pansage’s claws were really muffled down, meaning that Chikorita wasn’t as injured as she would have been if the shields hadn’t been there. “Alright Cynthia, use your Poison Powder!” While Pansage scratched at Chikorita, Chikorita released a toxic pollen into the air, that if breathed in, would poison the target, and since Pansage was so close to her, it would be interesting to see how he managed to avoid that one.

Lazarus frowned upon the move haze. He was originally planning on winning this round, but with the way things were going, Munchlax was just getting tossed around like a rag doll, which definitely wasn’t a good thing. “Alright, let’s use stockpile once more!” Munchlax cringed before being picked up by a psychic power and then getting slammed into the ground. Since the sharp increases to its special defense were null and voice, the full effect of Psychic really hurt. However, Munchlax had a knack for endurance so he could tough it out. “Hang in there Megumi, you can do it, just one more stockpile!” Munchlax nodded and inhaled even more air, reaching the highest amount of stockpile it could possibly reach. Although it wanted to use swallow, it would have to wait until the next turn it had, but at this rate it didn’t really seem like it would even be able to have a second turn, especially with all the problems it was having to deal with, with that move haze.
Raiden was a bit more interested in his own battle to even steal a glance of the battle going on with Lazarus and Hansuke, although deep down he was rooting for Hansuke. “Get out of there Pansage!” Pansage jumped back, unsure of if it had been tainted by the poison pollen or not. However, the guessing didn’t have to last long. Pansage fell to its knees and began to cough, almost as though something were stuck in its throat. ‘This round isn’t look so good. Parker is just too confident in himself to think that getting poisoned would actually happen to him. I guess I’m going to have to hurry up and finish this thing.’ Raiden sighed and poined towards Chikorita. “Parker, use Seed Bomb!” Pansage shook off the sweat he was beginning to break out in and jumped into the air. Once in the air, he launched a large seed from its mouth towards the Chikorita that would explode upon impact.

Hansuke watched, wondering what the deal was with all this stockpiling. What was the point of healing oneself after so much damage? ‘I hope he doesn’t plan on healing Munchlax again, otherwise I’m just going to have to beat him up all over again.’ Hansuke sighed, thinking about having to refight Munchlax, that was something he didn’t really want to have to do, mainly because Munchlax was pretty much a tank in terms of just absorbing the attacks. Natu seemed kind of tired of using psychic over and over again anyways. “Okay Nakoda, let’s try something besides Psychic since he doesn’t seem to be wanting to fight back against that.” Hansuke looked at Munchlax and then Natu, trying to think of an attack that would work effectively. “I guess use future sight once more!” A violet light appeared in the sky, then vanished. However, another violet light came back into view and then raced towards Munchlax. ‘Oh yeah! I used future sight earlier and now it’s coming back to hit Munchlax!’ The beam shot straight forward, directly towards Munchlax.
The battle with Raiden was getting to get more and more interesting. The longer the battle went on, the slower the odds shifted into Izo’s favor. The conservative Chikorita could pose more of a threat than a rambunctious Pansage, or at least that was the lesson Izo was getting from this. “Quick Cynthia, use Ancient Power!” Rocks began to emerge from around the ground surrounding Chikorita. Once of the rocks managed to deflect the seed bomb while the other rocks continued to levitate into the air. “Now throw the rocks at Pansage!” Chikorita nodded and the rocks that were levitating themselves hurtled towards the Pansage with the hopes of burying him under some of them. ‘It’s a good thing that Ancient Power existed. For a moment I almost forgot Chikorita knew that.’ Izo sighed and turned back to the battle, wanting to make sure that everything went alright.

Lazarus watched as the future sight formed and vanished while another one appeared. He knew that the attack would have a lot of power since it would be a little bit stronger than a regular psychic attack. “Here it comes, embrace and get ready Megumi!” Munchlax nodded and put its hands over its face before taking the full impact of the future sight, causing it to roll over and over before staggering back to its feet. The Munchlax was so tempted to just swallow the stockpile it had made, but that would have to be left up to its trainer, Lazarus. “Time for the big finale! Munchlax use spit up!” With all three stockpiles it had just performed Munchlax spat up a huge force that threw itself towards the Natu. The size of the large being was about a little smaller than a Munchlax, but it still weighed a lot and could seriously injure Natu. “I’ve been saving up so that we could finish in one huge attack!” After spitting up the huge stockpile Munclax collapsed to the ground, exhausted by all the psychic attacks, although it wasn’t fainted yet. It could very well get up if it needed to finish something.
The battle with Izo wasn’t going so well to Raiden. Pansage was too mischievous to just focus for the fight, although the Ancient Power coming in would be too much for Pansage to be able to ward off. “Look out Parker!” Pansage managed to dodge several rocks, but there were too many and once it got struck by one, they all seemed to start colliding with him. Once the rocks finished ganging up on Pansage, Pansage staggered to its feet, barely even able to keep its eyes open. ‘Gah, it’s no use. I can’t just expect Pansage to keep going at this rate.’ Raiden held out a pokeball and let out a sigh, “You did good, but it’s time for a rest Parker.” Pansage groaned but knew that enough was enough. “Alright, so it looks like we had a draw…” Raiden returned to being quiet and waited for the other battle to finish up so that they could go heal their Pokémon.

It seemed like Lazarus was full of surprises, because just as the future sight hit, Hansuke felt like he might deserve to let his guard down a little, but that wasn’t the case at all. Out of nowhere, the stockpile that Munchlax had been performing shot out in an offensive maneuver, causing Natu to be struck full force by the powerful technique. “Oh no! Nakoda!” Natu went flying backwards and straight into the arms of Hansuke, who had barely been able to catch the Pokémon. Natu struggled back to its small feet after hoping out of his arms, but it was still almost out of energy. “I can’t risk Nakoda fighting after this…” Hansuke sighed and turned upwards to Lazarus, “You win this round.” Natu nodded in agreement. Hansuke didn’t even know spit-up could be used to attack someone, so it was a good lesson to be learned. If he’d had known that, then maybe this battle would be in his favor, but it’s all over now, no use crying over spilled milk.
Izo was rather happy with the outcome of his battle as well. Pansage had been defeated by the ancient power meaning that he tied his battle. Once the battle of Hansuke and Lazarus was over, Izo walked over and gave a high-five to Hansuke. “Great job Hansuke, looks like you tied just like I did.” With no time to waste, Izo called the attention of everyone. “Alright, well let’s go heal our Pokémon and then we can head out after some sleep. I’d prefer going to mammot lakes since there’s not many places where you can catch a water-type Pokémon so close to Willowcove.” Hansuke nodded nervously, still in shock that he actually managed to tie his first battle. That was a positive twist of events. “Y-Yes.” Hansuke followed Izo inside the Pokémon center since his Pokémon were injured and needed to be healed.

Maddie ran over and scooped up the pokeball. She turned to see Kadaj, she was grinning. She ran over and jumped up to hug him. "I did it!!" She was so pleased with her capture. She looked at the pokeball. "Nub." "Awesome job, mon petit. Magnifique!" She kissed his head. Maddie releashed the newly caught Aipom from it's pokeball. "Ooo ooo pom?" She looked at Madeline. "Bonjour, cutie!" She said to Aipom. "I shall call you Hyuna. You like that?" Aipom began to dance while balancing on it's tail. Maddie smiled. "So, Kadaj. Are you ready to head off to the next destination." She asked.

Lazarus let out a sigh of relief as he watched the Natu to get hit by the technique and become withdrawn in its Pokeball. That was a close call for even Munchlax who had the endurance of a tank sometime. “Nice going Megumi, here’s your berries.” Lazarus tossed some berries to Munchlax, who immediately began to scarf them down as though there were no tomorrow. Lazarus then turned to Raiden who was walking towards him. Apparently they had tied up their battle as well. “Well, I guess this works out for everyone, so no one is better than each other right?” Lazarus grinned smugly before following Hansuke and Izo back into the building to heal his Pokémon. It was time he recovered them anyways since that battle had done a toll on them mentally and physically. ‘I guess the training was a good thing. Now Hansuke has some experience with Pokémon.’ Lazarus looked at Hansuke for a moment before smiling brightly to him. That was a good battle for sure.
Raiden was relatively pleased with his outcomes as well, having found out that Lazarus had tied, he didn’t feel the pressure that one would normally feel to win. ‘I’m glad I didn’t have to fight Hansuke.’ Raiden turned his attention back to the Pokémon Center.
Once he was at the counter, he and Lazarus handed their Pokémon to the Nurse on duty before turning back to Hansuke and Izo. Lazarus was the first to speak up, “So Hansuke, I hope you learned something. Also, Izo, how did your battle go with Raiden?” Lazarus didn’t want to ask Raiden because he knew that the odds of Raiden saying a one-word reply were a bit too high and he didn’t want to feel dumb for asking the question. Raiden turned to Hansuke, relatively curious to see how the battle had went with them as well.

Izo handed his Pokémon to Nurse Joy as did Hansuke. They didn’t have to wait long before their Pokémon were healed though and they could be ready to go on to the next location they wanted to visit: Mammot Lakes. “The battle wasn’t too intense Lazarus, it had its moments but overall, as with any other battle, we just shot when we had openings.” Hansuke nodded before speaking up, having something to say now. “O-Our battle was f-fun. I tied, b-but I think I might’ve won if I knew m-more about stockpile.” It’s true that he wasn’t aware of the power of the move stockpile so it pretty much defeated his frail Natu, but if he ever had to fight Lazarus again, he wouldn’t be making that same mistake again.
Izo was the first to walk over to the exit of the Pokémon Center with his newly healed Pokémon. He wanted to make sure they got out of town today, otherwise they would probably never leave. “Come on guys, we need to keep moving. Staying in one place too long is never good for the Pokémon.” Izo put his Pokeballs away before waiting for the others. There next stop would be Mammot Lakes, mainly because he was under the impression that some of the others wanted to a catch a water Pokémon. He didn’t mind though since water Pokémon were really useful in their own way, plus the fact that you couldn’t find them just anywhere made them even more valuable. “Y-Yeah, let’s um, go.” Hansuke walked up to the door too, still kind of reluctant about going anywhere right now because his Pokémon had just been in a battle, but the important thing was that he had managed to have them healed, so it’s not like he was putting them in even more danger, if anything, he was getting them ready for when he found wild Pokémon he wanted to battle.

Kadaj hugged Madelin back, seeing no harm in the small gesture and allowed her to get to acquaint with her Pokemon a little more before she mentioned that they should be going to the next destination, which he presumed to be Paysage Town. Kadaj nodded, slightly bored with hanging around Vormund City. It was about time he started making his way somewhere else anyways. "Alright I'll just follow you. I'm not the best with directions."
