As though picking up on his penguiny thoughts, the whale was back with a vengeance.
Once again, Jerry screamed. His voice was getting hoarse.

And then Ennéa landed with a hard thud. It took a moment for her to dazedly sit up and look around. "Oh thank god it's not that stupid eyeball again." She gasped in relief and flopped back down again, still out of breath. She had enough stupid eyeballs just dealing with Baraz.
Somewhere, in the back of her mind, her ahriman partner snorted at that. But at least it was an amused snort.
She smiled and gave herself a couple of moments to catch her breath and allow her hearbeat to stop thudding so hard before she sat up again. Scary as that whale had been at least it had knocked to over to where the ice was solid. She was safe for now.
Ennéa slowly climbed to her feet and dusted as much snow as she could off herself. She looked back at the jagged fragments of ice bobbing in the water where they had fought the Titan. She didn't see Jerry anywhere.
A small scared lump twisted in her stomach. Ennéa had been mostly preoccupied with her own efforts to escape but she had still noticed her friend's trouble. He had the worst luck. "Be safe, Jerry." She said softly. She liked the older man and she hoped he had made it to safety too somehow. There was nothing else she could do; going back out onto the ice flows to look for him would be suicide.
Speaking of her friends... Ennéa turned and looked in the direction she hoped the camp was. She hadn't seen Jordan or Maddie the entire mission either. The scared lump twisted some more. She hoped they were okay.
Ennéa shivered though not just with worry. The sweat from all her running around had chilled and Ennéa was starting to feel clammy and nearly frozen through. She should probably back at the main camp. If she were lucky, everyone else would all be there too. Ennéa started to trudge slowly back, feeling worried and dispirited.

At this point, Jerry's mind was so battered, so stressed, so resigned to his deathly fate, he punched that damn giant monster straight in the eyeball.
It was not very effective.

At this point, Jerry resolved, as the ice crackled under him again, if he lived through this, he would take both Sasha and Candace together on a nice picnic on the beach.

Being on the titan's eye was definitely not on the top of Wilson's list. He ran around to avoid the tentacles while he sprinted to get off.

There would be music, and a large bottle- no, several large bottles of wine.
The three of them would lay on the sand and it would be warm and beautiful as they watched the sun set over the ocean...
As though the universe liked this idea, he leaped one more time and this time the ice did not shatter under him. He skidded to a stop and sobbed quietly with relief.

Wilson had fully expected the next piece of ice to either flip over or begin cracking apart just like the other ones before it, but when he stepped on it there was nothing. It was odd, but in a good way. He looked back at the destruction sprawled behind him. There had been a lot of things wrong with this mission, but at least he could live to see tomorrow.
He began to walk across the ice.

Rep ran like the ******** hounds of hell were at his heels. Even Tracey was dismissed this time as he bolted desperately, scrabbling on the ice and snow, coming dangerously close to falling. There were sleds he could see, other hunters left and right.
He couldn't see the people he wanted to see, so he ran. He was determined to survive, he'd told himself no tragic deaths and it was a promise he intended to keep.
The axe was only summoned in a flash as the ice he was on started to tilt back, losing his traction. He slammed it into the ground and used Tracey as a step to launch himself from, out to freedom. He rolled on the stable ice and looked back at the destruction in their wake and tried to catch his breath. He wasn't built for running.
He looked on to where he was going. Nothing but snow. Snow for ******** ever.
Maybe he wasn't going to survive this.
