Mina’s Pansage struck swift and true, giving Kokoro quite the bump with her Vine Whip. Although annoyed, the attack wasn’t nearly as devastating for the fire starter and she was still ready to go. On the other part of the battlefield Marshtomp’s Water Gun also hit true, further devastating the Pansear. He was looking wobbly as he panted with his arms resting on his knees, but luckily for him, his opponent now seemed to be taking a nap.

“Just a little further, Kokoro!” Claire encouraged. “Finish the Pansage off with Ember.”

“Quickly Sagey, use Vine Whip on the ground to carry yourself out of the attack!” Mina countered.

Mag gently touched the tan and pink striped egg that lay before him. He had no idea what kind of Pokemon it was for, but it seemed... happy that he was there. The auburn haired man reluctantly pulled his hand off of it. Although it seemed right for him to take it, he wasn’t sure what it was doing in the center of the clearing. Furthermore, the tan and black spotted egg next to it seemed to be different. Hearing a noise nearby Moti stood up and looked around.

Namida stood in the clearing, ready to strike. For some reason she felt compelled to protect the eggs! Although she knew that they didn’t have another Mawile in them, or at least the tan and pink one didn’t, she definitely wanted to stop that man from taking them.

“Wile!” She shouted putting up her fists in a fighting stance to show that she was challenging him for the eggs.

”Well... this is odd. You’re definitely not from around here.” Mag said, turning his head curiously. It was times like these that he regretted not having a Pokedex around to scan Pokemon. Maybe it was time to bust out the old Snag Machine scouter-visor-thing. If the young man recalled correctly, it had some sort of similar scanning function that could be useful at times.

“Ma-Wile!” Namida shouted again, annoyed that he wasn’t taking her challenge seriously. She was just about to attack this guy, Pokemon or no Pokemon!

”Cool your jets!” Moti said, raising his hands defensively. She looked like some kind of fighting type, so Shining was the clear choice if he wanted to end this quickly. He didn’t want to risk hurting the eggs after all. In a flash of light his ever perky Espeon materialized in the field. “This Pokemon wants to duke it out with us over these eggs, I think. Can you convince it to back down?” Moti asked as he pat Shining in her favorite place, behind her left ear. The Sun Pokemon let out a happy mew and nodded as she stood up from her sitting position and came closer to the Mawile.

Jason stood up and pried Nyx off of his body gently, his shirt starting to gain a crimson tint. She was just a baby but her blades were sharp, and they weren't small either. The cuts she was giving him were actually a bit deep and he shuttered to think what might happen if she got a major artery during one of these hugs. It pained him to do it but he was gonna have to be a bit stern with the newborn. "Say Nyx, you're pretty sharp you know?" He said, the Pawniard looking at him with a cocked head oblivious to the fact she'd been hurting him. "No more jumping up on me ok? You have to be calm." He said as he set her down. But as soon as he did she hung her head and looked rather sad, it kinda looked like she might cry. Jason felt a tug in his heart and picked her right back up, but her her so she was facing forward her back to his chest, and he also held her from the bottom and side carefully to not cut himself on her blades ribs. Nyx was so happy to have been picked up again she shook happily, and Jason leaned his head back as her head blade nearly got his chin. "Oh man this is gonna be dangerous until she gets comfortable enough to be on her own feet. I'm, try not to wave around to much ok sweetie?" He said with a smile, she was just a baby after all. He took a ball from his belt and held it up to her, the pokeball regestering her as it's pokemon and opening up, but Jason closed it as he didn't want to put her away yet. Instead he recalled Atlas as he would have his hands full with this one right now and decided to walk around a bit. Nyx looked around curiously at each person and pokemon waving her little blades hands at each one they passed as if wanting to grab them. He had to apologize a few times as she nearly got a few, she even cut this one guys bag but he didn't seem to notice. Eventually their walk ended back where they started and Jason looked up at the building realizing that this was the Orebergh gym. "hmm, maybe someone inside can help me. Oh man I wish Cynthia was still here she'd know a thing or two I bet. You're a sweet thing Nyx but I need to find out how to feed you right, and handle you too. We can't have you hurting people by accident you know." He said with a smile as he walked into the gym, Nyx looking back up at Jason, had she done something wrong? Couldn't be, her trainer was smiling after all. "Hello, gym leader person? Got a moment?" He called out aimlessly.

Ricardo hopped happily as he produced sounds along with the music of the family, all the instruments had their own unique sounds and the sound waves going through the air were so pleasant to the little Tympole. When the music stopped he continued to hop around and make noise, wondering why it had stopped. "Ya ya, calmase. Settle down little one. We must take a break now, mas musical later you'll see." Carlos laughed as he pulled out a chair and took a seat, Ricardo jumping into his lap and yawning, tuckered out from the music he quickly fell asleep. "aww que preciouso. Oh by the way, that's a creepy new cactus you planted outside pa. And why so close to the old one? They're gonna end up colliding and ones gonna fall over you know."

"Cactus? I didn't plant any new Cactus mi hijo. It's enough work taking care of the big one we already have, we're not a cactus nursery." He said with a raised eyebrow as he set down the trumpet and poked his head out the window. "There's no cactus out there, estas bien hijo? The heat has cooked your cabeza I think. Why don't you go cool off by the water while we get started on lunch? Tu mama esta cocinando sopa de frijoles!"

"Bueno bueno, I'll be back later then." Carlos said grinning as he got up, Ricardo sleeping in his arms as he exited the house. Indeed there was no cactus there by the saguaro like before, maybe he had been seeing things. After having found and egg that came from nowhere he wasn't in the mind to question things anymore. He walked over to the waters edge and took of his boots, resting them in the cold clear water, leaning back for a little nap with Ricardo on his belly. He was about to pull his sombrero over his eyes to block the sun, but before he could he found the sun no longer shining through his eyelids and peeked wearily only to see that he was in the shade of none other than the cactus from before. "...Ghost cactus?"

Quagsire let out a startled cry when she was surprised by the previously-idle rat, her Slam attack all but forgotten as she tried to defend herself from the preemptive assault. Raticate's Sucker Punch seemed particularly vicious to Misty, who's scowl only worsened when she saw that the Normal-type escaped without so much as a whack of the Water Fish Pokemon's tail. "Quagsire, use Mud Bomb!" she yelled, the heat of the battle getting to her. The redhead watched with rapt attention as Quagsire righted herself, directing her aim towards Raticate as he scrambled back onto a bed, releasing a hardened blob of mud with as much ferociousness she could muster in the act.

Jett couldn't help but grin at his friend's shock, eyes looking up as though hoping to catch a sight of the quiet baby Pokemon but not seeing even a feeler. Still, he felt the steady weight of the bug on his head and reached up a hand, running it gently over the shell. Viy narrowed his eyes at Scarlet, making a disgruntled noise as his exclamation had disturbed his otherwise silent observations of his environment. The redhead was noisy and pointing at him, and the Bug/Poison-type looked away, apparently not having very much care for this new human that emerged.

"This is Viy," Jett said lightly, finally deciding to explain after letting the shock's novelty wear off. "I dunno what happened, but... an egg just sort of appeared out of nowhere, right? And I was carrying it around until it hatched this little guy. I dunno, I think he's cute." There were very few Pokemon he had seen in books that he didn't like, and Bug-types never particularly bothered him. Especially not such a grumpy little Pokemon like Venipede. The dark-haired youth was broken from his thoughts when he heard the pop and felt the familiar disturbance in the air, looking sharply at his friend. An egg smacked on Scarlet's skull, making him cry out and make Viy even more at unease, the bug shifting uncomfortably on Jett's head, but the boy was unconcerned with that for the moment.

"That looked like it really hurt, oh my God," he whispered, beginning to step forward. "Are you okay?" But his voice trailed off when he saw the crack in the egg, and how it began to spread across the rest of the shell. Without any desire for a logical explanation at hand, Jett grinned again, beaming up at his friend. "Look, yours is hatching too! Isn't this cool?"

Looking down at the small bug on her table she smiled at it as she put her phone away. "So you are a Larvesta huh? Well it doesn't really matter if you were rare or not. You would be amazing even if you were a Rattata." Robin chimed watching as Zuko finished up his grapes. Behind her Ampersand had paid for the meal unbeknownst to Robin.

"Well, congratulations on your victory Robin but I am going to get in trouble with Tony Tony if I don't get you training. Plus we have a bit of traveling to do." Ampersand looked down at his watch and noticed that it was around noon. "Yeah, since you are probably going to be sucked into some battles along the way. Plus there is no way that you want to miss Hearthome city. Hey it is pretty close, we can spend the night there and head over to your next gym match after that."

"That sounds cool." Robin said as she put her pokemon away leaving only Luffy and Zuko out. Robin felt that since he just hatched he should spend sometime outside of his pokeball. "All right let's get going!" Robin grinned at Ampersand as she adjusted the bag onto her shoulder before picking the bug pokemon up.

Kenny coughed as his bandages smoked a little and the Dusclops glared that the little beast in his hands before dropping it onto the ground. The little, now identified as a Deino growled and yelped at all of them loud barking as it scrambled up to it's feet. The Irate pokemon charged forward snapping his mouth at all of them. Dante managed to slip his hand into his bag and fish out an empty pokeball. Doing his best to not drop it he tossed the blood stained ball at the dragon pokemon and watched as it rocked as the pokemon seemed almost escaped. After a moment it clicked shut and the rampaging pokemon was officially his now.

Groaning Dante gripped his arm and leaned back onto the bench. "I think I need to see a doctor." He winced slightly looking over at Leo and Angelic.

"Geez that thing is crazy." Leo muttered as he picked Dante's hand up and inspected where he had been bitten. "Dang, that little b***h has sharp teeth. I think you do actually need to see a doctor." Leo pulled out a cloth and wrapped it around the wound and told Dante to put pressure on it as they all headed over to a local clinic. Dante was somewhat tempted to just leave that little monster on the ground there but he did end up scooping the bloodied pokeball up and tossed it into his bag recalling Kenny to.

Roark was on his meal break when he heard for someone calling for the gym leader. Grabbing his sandwich he headed out in order to take a look at whoever wanted to see him. "My name isn't gym leader person." He called out before heading over to the kid who seemed to have a strange sort of pokemon in his arms. "That looks pretty painful." He commented wincing a bit himself at the sight of the sharp blades on it. "One of the Unova pokemon?" It looked like something his dad had sent him pictures of. He had been bragging about how many cool steel types that were over there and how they had to take a trip. Roarks response was about how much cooler the rock types were and so the great debate had started once again.

"So you are here to challenge me?" Roark asked before finishing off his meal. "If that's true well don't expect an easy victory just because I am the first gym leader of Sinnoh!"

Scarlet quietly knelt down and placed the egg on the ground as more and more fissures spread along the shell. And then it shattered into countless pieces. Standing on the fragments was the oddest little thing he’d ever seen. A navy blue rock was standing there on tiny little legs, a yellow octagon leading into a deep black hole inside its body. Whatever it was, it stood there, facing Scarlet with an odd focus. It wasn’t staring, what with the fact that it didn’t have eyes, but it sure felt like it.

Since it wasn’t gonna say anything, Scarlet decided to. “Hey, uh… Little guy.”

Nothing.

Scarlet looked up at Jett, wincing as he rubbed the top of his head, but smiling just a bit. “Yeah, I’m… Alright, I think. Maybe eggs are all… Pocket spacy. Just glad this thing didn’t hatch before it fell.” After all, poor Cyan wasn’t there to find out if his skull really was empty or not. “So this is just happening? How do you think we’re getting all these? Free pokemon are awesome, don’t get me wrong, but man teleportation is disconcerting,” he said as he moving to lift up his one foot tall rock and almost threw out his back. But he played it off suavely, patting the uh… thing on its head and fishing out his pokedex, glancing over at Viy. “Well, nice to meet you, little dude! Sorry for the whole… pointing and screaming at your existence thing. You just have that… intimidating scalp munching air about you, no offense. It’s actually really cool.”

With that apology done, Scarlet withdrew his pokedex and scanned the rock-type.

”Roggenrola: The Mantle Pokemon. They were discovered one hundred years ago after an earthquake cracked a fissure into the Unova Region. Inside each of these pokemon is an energy core. The hexagonal-shaped hole in its center is its ear. It has the tendency to walk in the direction the sound is coming from.”

As if on cue, the Roggenrola seemed to face downward just a bit, toward the Pokedex. It let out a quiet rumble, the sound of a handful of pebbles clicking together, before inching toward Scarlet. “Roggenrola… From Unova, huh?” He looked up at Jett, smiling broadly. “This is really cool! Pokemon eggs from other regions… Do you mind coming with me to get Cindy healed up? You too, uh… Sledge. You look like a Sledge. You fine with that name?” The second half of his rather energetic rant was directed toward the Roggenrola, who stayed perfectly silent for a moment before clicking again in assent.

Scarlet unzipped his jacket and laid it on the ground, scooping up the cracked shell pieces while waiting for Jett's response. Then he headed off to the front desk, the tiny Mantle Pokemon shuffling after the sound of his footsteps, and handed Cindy's Pokeball to the nurse.

For a small, yet wonderfully blissful moment, Kasiya was without pain or worry or heartache, as all she could do was stare down at this tiny, fuzzy little creature in wonder. The baby stared back up at her, eyes wide with curiosity before its round ears twitched and it grinned, giving a cute, inquisitive little cry. "Cheeno?"

The noise that Kasiya made in reply was inhuman. The responsive squeak of the Pokemon as the girl hugged it was equally ear-shattering. Somewhere, wherever she was, Sasha would be quite proud of the both of them.

"OHMIGOSHYOUARERTHECUTESTHINGEVERSQUEEOMGCUTE!" Despite the squeezing grip Kasiya had on the little critter, it didn't seem terribly bothered. In fact, it seemed to adore Kasiya as much as she adored it, judging by the way it had curled its fluffy tail around her and was refusing to relinquish its grip. Finally, her senses returned and Kasiya set the little mousey thing on her lap, studying it carefully. It was no Pokemon she'd ever seen before, and judging by the way no one jumped in to tell her what it was, none of the other girls knew, either. "Oh, my PokeDex," the blonde said suddenly, snapping her fingers. She withdrew the red device from her hip bag and clicked it on, pointing it at the creature.

"Minccino, the Chinchilla Pokemon. Normal-type, average size: 1 foot, four inches. 12.8 pounds. Minccino greet one another by rubbing each other with their tails, which are always kept well-groomed and clean. These Pokemon prefer a tidy habitat and are always sweeping and dusting things, using their tails as brooms." Kasiya looked up from the PokeDex in time to see the newly-dubbed Minccino earnestly sweeping the dust from her knees with its tail. It looked up at Kasiya, its little brow creasing as it saw the dusty machine in the girl's hand and it jumped up, clinging to Kasiya's arm as it dusted and polished the PokeDex until it was shiny and like-new again. She'd opened her mouth to comment on the Pokemon's cleanliness when she saw that Amy and Riza had come over to them, but she stopped when the egg that appeared to Riza had suddenly started hatching, revealing an adorable green serpentine creature. "Oh, wow, Riza! Yours is super cute, too!"

Despite Jade's protests of being fine, Jake continued to give her the look, indicating that he wasn't convinced. "Fine or not, you should get that cleaned up. What if it gets infected?" he asked matter-of-factly, shifting his egg in his arms. "As for these guys, well, I, uh... I don't really know." He rubbed a hand over the smooth shell, his fingertips finding small bumps. He didn't know why, but the feeling of the egg's weight in his hands was very familiar. Was it possible he'd hatched and raised a Pokemon egg before? Or maybe he was a Pokemon Breeder and he did this sort of thing for a living. Either way, he felt a fierce protectiveness of the unborn creature. For some reason, the universe had deposited this egg in his lap, quite literally, so he was sure that it had to mean something. He glanced over at Jade, hugging her own egg, and he smiled warmly, certain that she felt the same way he did. "Yeah, we should keep moving," he nodded, casting glances at the sky and all around them as though he were expecting the clouds to open up and start raining even more of these eggs of destiny down upon them.

Jake's eyes were fixed on the warm egg in his arms as they started back along the route, having practically forgotten that they were supposed to be scouting for the sporting goods store somewhere up ahead. He was sure it'd be wrong not to speculate on what could be hiding beneath the shells and he glanced over at Jade. "So... what do you think is inside them?" he asked. "I think - no, I know - they're something really special. I mean, they have to be. They just appeared out of nowhere so they have to be." As he spoke, the egg had started to shake and he held it out expectantly, watching as a faint glow began to emanate from the core. It appeared to be a false alarm though, as it became still and the light dimmed. "Aww. I was sure it was gonna hatch," the blonde said, voice heavy with disappointment.

"Lennier, where did they come from?" Karrigan mused, directing her thoughts toward her Kadabra as her eyes went from Kasiya to Riza before settling on Amy, and she frowned. She knew the bespectacled girl would be trying her best not to show her disappointment over not receiving an egg of her own and she frowned, looking down at the egg she'd subconsciously clutched to her chest. The Kadabra had simply shook his head and Karrigan found it unsettling that even her Psychic-type was at a lost for explanations. Then again, Lennier wasn't very powerful yet so that might have been part of it.

The overprotective feeling that had overcome her was very powerful and she suddenly wondered if this was how a parent felt when they were protecting their child. The squeal that the blonde girl made, however, startled the redhead so much that she very nearly dropped her egg and she looked over to see the little chinchilla returning the girl's embrace quite enthusiastically. Riza's egg had hatched as well and Karrigan frowned. Having hatched Ikouma from an egg not too long ago, she knew that this was not the norm, for Ikouma's birth had taken weeks after she'd been given the egg. But this isn't normal circumstances, she thought, frowning once again. Would this egg hatch soon, too? She looked over at Amy again and sighed, hoping that destiny wouldn't leave the brunette out, otherwise she'd feel terribly guilty having received a magical egg out of nowhere while Amy hadn't.

For Electabuzz, everything was moving very strangely. It was like a rush of action, everything over in a few seconds while at the same time it seemed to drag on and on. The rocks that Pupitar had summoned were causing him plenty of pain and he knew he couldn't take much more, giving a roar of satisfaction as he firmly planted a solid Ice Punch to the rocky cocoon's side. But Pupitar wasn't giving up without a fight and the Electric-type was blindsided by the Rock-type's strike, and Surge laughed from the sidelines as both Pokemon fell to the ground, unconscious.

The gym leader, however, hadn't missed the commotion on Crenu's side of the field, starting with the boy's strange tone of voice. "Hey sonny, you all right?" he called, squinting from the bright light that had appeared. What the hell was going on? Was the kid like, evolving or something? Surge's boots crunched over bits of rock and kicked larger pieces out of his way as he crossed over to where Crenu was. Of course, Shiro hadn't evolved, but something strange had happened. "Where'd ya get that?" the gym leader asked, even though he was sure that strange light had been the culprit. "Don't drop it, eh?"
PostPosted: Mon Jul 30, 2012 10:47 am

Jett watched with rapt interest at the newly hatched Rock-type, tilting his head a little. He hadn't seen this Pokemon either, just like he hadn't seen Viy; perhaps they'd come from the same region. But how did they get over here? The dark-haired boy looked up at his friend as he started to speak, trying to find some reasonable explanation for what was happening.

"I'm not sure," he said after a pause, answering the redhead's last question and finding himself wondering the same thing. "I didn't recognize Viy when he first hatched, and I don't recognize your Pokemon, either. But if they're from a faraway region, it must've been something super powerful to send them all the way to Johto. I mean, River couldn't... couldn't teleport a bunch of eggs that far." He thought on it for a little while but then his eyes widened, a sudden realization striking him. "Do you think Jasper got one? I mean, the both of us did... and if eggs are just dropping in this general area, I think he'd have to get one too... I hope he did," he decided quietly, mostly to himself. He didn't want the older boy to come and find Scarlet and himself the next morning with two newly hatched foreign Pokemon and not have an inexplicable egg to hatch himself. Viy was not as concerned with the welfare of others as his trainer, instead focusing back on Scarlet as the boy addressed him, apologizing for his earlier shock. The Venipede stared at him without expression, perhaps trying to draw his soul from his body with a half-lidded gaze, but if that was his attempt, it seemed to prove futile. Then he glanced down at the Roggenrola, eyes narrowing slightly. Perhaps survival instinct told him that Rock-types weren't a very good match for the Bug-type, so he decided that he wasn't particularly fond of this new addition or its trainer. Judgment made, Viy looked away, already focusing on the cracks in the walls of the Pokecenter hallway.

Jett was broken from his thoughts when Scarlet's newly-acquired Pokedex began to drone about this new Pokemon, a Roggenrola, and finally it showed signs of life by inching towards that direction. The boy smiled, apparently finding all sorts of unusual Pokemon endearing today. "Viy's from Unova, too," he stated, feeling the Venipede shift slightly as he was mentioned. "So at least there's a pattern. And sure!" He realized then, with a small sense of guilt, that he had forgotten to heal his Pokemon when he was talking to Jasper, and since then, poor Naja had taken even more of a beating. Following the redhead up to the counter and handing his four Pokeballs to the nurse when she returned, sheepishly smiling in response to her surprise at the sight of Viy on his head and passing it off with, "It's been a weird night," he turned back to his friend. "Did you eat yet?" he asked casually, picking up the Venipede and holding him in his arms again. Considering the Bug/Poison-type, he frowned lightly. "You know, I think we still might have to like... catch them. They don't come with their own Pokeballs."

"Oh, thank you! We've been training a lot today," Amy said, slightly cheered by the older girl's compliment, glad to have her mind off the nagging question of why she hadn't received an egg. She hated to feel jealous or petty, but still, she felt a pang in her heart as she glanced between the three other girls, though she made sure to hide it well. She wouldn't want anyone to worry over her and dampen the whole mood. She wanted to ask Riza about last night's contest and how the rest of it went, who had won, unaware of the final results of it; she also wanted to apologize for such abrupt behavior, and felt strange thinking about simply running away after her defeat. But there would hopefully be time to talk later, either before her gym match or after it. "Your Pokemon looked really strong, too; you seemed to be having a really intense battle over here--" She was promptly interrupted by Kasiya's squeal that perhaps shattered the sound barrier, watching as the one of the cutest Pokemon she had seen in a while hatched from the blonde's egg. She covered her mouth a little, making a soft noise of adoration. "It's adorable."

Another crack caught her attention and she turned to the dark-haired girl, eyes widening as her egg hatched an apparent Grass-type. She smiled breathlessly, looking Riza in the eyes. "Wow, congratulations, Riza!" she said softly, amazed at the Pokemon that had hatched from both of the eggs. But she hadn't recognized either of them; would she recognize the Pokemon that came out of Karrigan's egg? The bespectacled girl glanced at the redhead, smiling almost reassuringly until the oddest feeling swept over her. There was an intense pressure in her head and a bright flash, and Amy found herself leaning heavily into the girl holding her, trying to manage an apology even though she wasn't able to form words. Something weighed down her arms and after she blinked furiously, she found that she was finally holding her own egg. "Oh!" the brunette gasped, marveling at it. She smiled a little, looking around at the other three girls, glad she wasn't left out from this strange, strange experience. She pulled it closer to her, righting herself as she did and murmuring an apology to Riza. "Sorry, that was... unexpected. Are you and your Pokemon all right?" She was glad she had managed not to knock the other girl and her baby Pokemon over. That would've definitely been a party dampener.

"Fine, fine, I'll clean it up when we get to the store," Jade said with a slight roll of her eyes, but still, half of her mouth curled up in a smile. "If I make it that far, anyways. You might have to go on without me, take care of my magic egg and everything. It'll be tragic." As if to emphasize, she exhaled a dramatic sigh. But when Jake brought the focus back to the eggs, she reconsidered the object in her arms, smiling a little more softly when she felt it wriggle a little. The egg seemed to pull at her, draw her arms more securely around it, but too tightly that she feared it would break open. The raven-haired girl returned the blonde's smile without a word, already turning on her heel to continue forward, finding her leg to move just fine despite the occasional stab of pain she felt from the cut in her knee. All of her previous bad feelings seemed to melt away in face of this pleasant surprise, and she was now instilled with a sense of purpose, a sense of being right. She was meant to be there, meant to take care of her egg. And she had received hers only mere moments later than Jake's, and that had to mean something too, didn't it? Maybe we were meant to... She pushed the thought away and focused instead on the blonde wondering aloud.

"They were meant for us, and us alone, I think," Jade responded after a thoughtful pause. She glanced over her shoulder. "So I think what's in these eggs is... perfect for us. I think it's what we need, maybe." Maybe she oughtn't wax poetic about the situation; for all she knew, an Espeon was having some sort of fit in a breeding facility and some poor breeder was losing inventory. She slowed in her steps when she saw the activity in Jake's egg, but it seemed to calm down, much to her friend's disappointment. She opened her mouth to comfort him, surprisingly enough, when she felt the egg shake more and more in her own hands. Jade stepped back, holding out her egg carefully as it shook, light pouring from the several cracks that rippled along the surface. She grinned. "Sorry, cowboy. Yours might not be hatching, but mine sure as hell is!"

Crenu continued to look at the egg as Surge made his way over to his side of the field. A quick side glance at the field showed that the two pokemon had been downed, and seeing as a third round was unlikely due to the current turn of events it was safe to say the rematch had concluded in another draw. It idled Crenu a bit, but he didn't comment on it as his min was wrapped around the egg. He recalled Pupitar to his ball swiftly before replying. "I almost did, I'm not exactly inclined to trust things of an unexplained nature. But its hard to accuse an egg of having mal intent, so I won't." The blond boy brought the egg in a little closer, and sighed. "It just appeared out of thin air. This is most illogical...I have to gather that it was teleported here by a psychic nature but I can say little more than that with confidence. Hmph. Seems we tied again Surge. I'll be back someday, you can count on that." With that note Crenu left, soured by the draw and the confusion and headache brought by this egg, it sure wasn't winning him over with its actions that was certain. Were it not for a warm tie he felt to it he would hate it completely.

As he left the gym with a bit of a scowl on his face, he wondered what his next move would be. He didn't have to make room for the egg in his party due to Poliwhirl's absence as of last night, but a trip to the center would be wise to have his pokemon healed. A big question was what to do with Ariados, he didn't blame her for losing to Magneton but she didn't particularly shine as he would have wanted either. He'd almost made a full decision about it, but aside from that he don't have a particular goal in mind right now. However all thy was put aside as he looked around outside noticing the gathering of girls knowing now where Riza and Kasi had gone. That Amy girl from the contest was there too, as was another he didn't recognize. Crenu felt an ounce of dread as it seemed he would have to put up with introductions and be made to socialize, and was about to turn around and sneak off in the opposite direction when he noticed an egg in the hands of two of them. This didn't mean anything though, trainers with eggs wasn't a particularly rare scene and there wasn't reason to believe their eggs had simply appeared as his did. But perhaps more interesting were the pokemon that Riza and Kasi had before them. Kasi had some grey mouse thing that she was squeeling over, a pokemon he hadn't seen before but that wasn't big news to him. He knew almost nothing of the Hoenn or Sinnioh regions so there were plenty of pokemon he'd never seen before. He didn't know what Kasi had been up to since the beach party and didn't know what pokemon she had so the mouse was nothing that strange either, though why she would be so happy over a pokemon she'd had already was unknown. The pokemon in front of Riza however was a total mystery. Again, not because he didn't recognize the green reptile thing, but because this was something that shouldn't be.

Riza had a total of six pokemon already when she'd left the gym not long ago, and no eggs in her possession. There was a short period recently that he wasn't with her, and she could have gotten this pokemon during that time but she hadn't mentioned it to him and considering that she'd introduced him to every new pokemon she had gotten this was unikely. Perhaps it was wild and had just wandered up to her? But this species of pokemon wasn't native to Kanto, at least not to his knowledge, though maybe it was an abandoned pokemon brought from somewhere else? That was to big of a circumstantial coincidence for his liking however and that combined with Kasi's excitement over the, admittedly cute, mouse brought the conclusion that both of these non native pokemon were new to the trainers and just recently aquired. Not abandoned pokemon but freshly found, or more likey hatched seeing as they were both small and young in appearance. Two probably just hatched pokemon, one for certain having been from a trainer who definitely didn't have an egg only a short while ago, two trainers who had eggs as well accompanying the blond and raven haired girls, and the egg that had just appeared to him inside...it was still unlikely but hard to argue at the moment that everyone here had received an egg in the same fashion as he did, and that two of them had hatched already. Content with his deduction that, while a little complex, had been made rather quickly he walked over to them to further investigate this matter. As much as he didn't want to socialize he simply couldn't ignore the situation given the circumstance. "What's this?" Crenu asked Riza as he strode up beside her.

There was no way Raticate could dodge the attack—Quagsire fired it off as he was still scrambling onto the mat, and by the time he’d gained his footing, the ball had reached him and knocked him right over, sending him flying back into the water. He dugs his front claws into the mat at the last second and pulled himself back up, glaring at the Quagsire. Train was starting to wonder if the was just his permanent facial expression.

He looked as vicious as ever, but Train could see his sides rising and falling quickly, and it was obvious that the battle was taking its toll on him. She looked over at the Quagsire, but she couldn’t tell its condition at all.
”Quick Attack,” She called lightly to her Pokémon. She didn’t know what else to do. Raticate didn’t have any long-distance attacks, so a speedy one seemed like the best option. Perhaps there was a TM move she could teach him…

Raticate braced his body, digging into the mat before leaping off and shooting towards the Quagsire once again, his mode of attack much simpler this time.

The newborn Litwick was having an absolute blast. With Muuma’s guidance, he had followed close by Leon as they headed further into the gave, speeding away from her every once in a while in a game of tag that only he was aware of. Muuma chased after him simply for fear of the thing getting lost. It had only been in the world for some twenty minutes or so, and in a dark cave like this it was easy to get lost. Though, Litwick was its own flashlight, so that might not be that huge of a problem.

Suddenly there was a small wailing coming from nearby, and both Leon and Muuma looked around for the source of the noise. A yellow Pokémon with a big black ponytail hair looking thing had its face buried in its hands, sobbing quietly into them. It struck Leon as incredibley odd; what could a Pokémon have to cry at? Maybe it was lost or something. Which meant its trainer had to be pretty irresponsible not to keep an eye on his/her Pokémon, especially in a place like this.

Litwick had not noticed the detour and was happily floating into, out of, and around the boulders and stalactites that grew downwards from the cave’s ceiling. Leon noticed the constant darkening and brightening of their view, though, and turned to beckon Litwick back as Muuma floated forward to investigate the creature on the ground.

Keegan had witnessed hundreds of eggs hatching over the years, and many of those had been in his own hands, as well. The most recent hatching he'd witnessed was Kasiya's Charmander, Nova, and before that it had been Althena, back when he'd won the then-Psyduck's egg at the Cherry Blossom Festival. Of course he'd also been present at Helios' birth, and despite the bond he had with the fox, the odd feeling he had about this egg only grew stronger as he watched the oval shape morph and shift until it had taken the shape of a baby Pokemon. However, it was no baby that he'd ever seen before, and there weren't many species this son-of-a-breeder didn't know. It had large, round red eyes and what looked like some sort of horn or fin crowning its head. Two sharp-looking tusks protruded from either side of its mouth, which was currently upturned in a cheeky grin. It was small, greyish tan with a short tail and stubby arms and legs. Lastly, it had what looked to be a purple bandanna around its neck, and though Keegan didn't know what it was, he was almost positive it was some kind of dragon. The little tyke continued to beam up at him for a few moments before it turned its attention on his jacket. "Ax!" it declared, grabbing a button and starting to chew on it.

"H-hey, that's not food," Keegan protested, immediately trying to pry the infant off, but it only resulted in the button and a good portion of the leather to come with it, the sound of tearing fabric causing the boy to grit his teeth. "Oh, that's great, just great," the redhead grumbled, but when the tiny dragon smiled cutely at him, he could only sigh and smile back, unable to stay upset with it, even with a length of thread hanging out of the corner of its mouth. It was safe to say the newborn had already stolen his heart, and he didn't even know what it was.

Lee leaned back in his seat and watched with amusement as Miharu released her Metang. Seeing one in real life was nothing compared to the pictures in books and he couldn't help but wonder how far off this one was from evolving into the fearsome and completely badass Metagross. The Steel-type seemed hesitant to battle though it hovered circles around Miharu, apparently rather fond of her. The young Rocket smirked. All right, let's see what this guy can do.

Once Tingle had completed its circles around Miharu, it started circling Lily, droning quite happily. It had been out of the party for a couple of days while Miharu adjusted to the Ponyta her cousin had sent to her so naturally it was glad to be reunited with its trainer. The green-haired girl was contemplating this match-up, recalling that Steel-types were naturally immune to Poison-type attacks, like Sludge Bomb and obviously, Poisonpowder. They resisted Grass-type moves as well, and Miharu quickly realized that Lily might not be her best option for this battle. The Ivysaur appeared to sense this as well and looked up at her trainer curiously. They'd trained together before and all her attacks had practically bounced off the Metang's body. "Well, you never know," the girl shrugged, stooping slightly in order to rub the Ivysaur's head. "If Jasmine's got a Steelix, then your attacks will be more useful. The Grass-type ones, anyway." Lily was sent off to the sidelines to observe while Miharu went over her other Pokemon. Petunia had several strong Fighting-type attacks at her disposal but she wasn't nearly as strong as the others, with the same going for Mori and her Fire-type moves. That left Sparkle, Starrie and Tingle and the girl pursed her lips. Perhaps this would be tougher than she thought it would be.

"Alrighty then. You're cute, and you're hungry. But what the heck are you?" Keegan asked, poking the baby dragon in the belly and causing it to laugh. It lunged at him and he quickly pulled his hand back, eyes wide as he recalled his last encounter with a bite-happy dragon hadn't ended well, and he still had the scar on his finger to prove it. Apparently, the baby wasn't actually lunging at him so much as it was jumping on him, and before he knew it, the dragon had scrambled up his body and was now standing on his shoulder, investigating Keegan's mop of red hair. He remembered then that he had a PokeDex and he began to pat himself down as he looked for it, now aware of a strange sounds filling the room. Chalking it up to the baby dragon no doubt searching for something edible on his head, he finally came up with the shiny red mini-computer and he slid it open, having to twist his wrist around at an odd angle to get it to scan the baby.

Axew, the Tusk Pokemon. They use their tusks to crush the berries they eat, as well as mark their territory by leaving large gashes in trees. These tusks tend to break rather easily at first, but repeated regrowth makes them stronger and sharper. The baby Axew seemed to realize the funny little box was talking about him and he hopped up and down excitedly on Keegan's shoulder, pointing at the picture that represented his species and then back at himself again, as though to say "That's me!"

Keegan chuckled at the dragon's antics - and it indeed was a dragon, and male, for that matter - and shook his head. "I dunno, buddy. The Axew in the 'Dex is green. You're... not. Unless they got it wrong or something. Or," he paused, thinking of the times he'd seen other Pokemon that were off-coloured. Kasiya's Crobat was bright green and not purple, and Dante's Rapidash was all silvery and black. Even Sheena had that Minun that was sort of an off-green rather than yellow and he smile grew wider. "Never mind," he said, pocketing the PokeDex and pulling Axew down from his shoulder. "If you're a different colour than what the PokeDex shows, it means you're special. Yeah, special. We'll go with that."

Being called special seemed to make the dragon's day, which wasn't all that difficult considering that he was three minutes old. Keegan still wasn't sure how he'd come to be in possession of the little guy and he thought back to that bright, white light and suddenly felt very stupid for believing himself to be at death's door. This, of course, made him remember the little present he'd left in the toilet and he turned to look at it. The fixture was actually starting to tremble and the gurgling had turned into an audible hiss. Keegan had enough time to shout "Oh s**t" before the toilet was exploding in a shower of porcelain, water, and pumpkin guts.

A few moments of deliberation later, Miharu had released her Starmie and the Water/Psychic-type was facing off against Tingle. There was something different about the Metang as it studied its training opponent and long-time teammate, and then without warning, the Iron Claw Pokemon zipped forward, one claw extended as it careened toward Starrie. Bullet Punch, Miharu thought, wincing a little. "Quick, Starrie, Bubblebeam," she called. The star-shaped Pokemon was quick to reply, loosing a barrage of bubbles in hopes of at least slowing the Metang-shaped comet. It didn't really work, however, as Tingle crashed through the bubbles and smacked Starrie right between the eyes, or where its eyes might have been if it had them. Water-types resisted Steel-type moves, however, so the damage was relatively low. Lee watched from the sidelines with a raised eyebrow. The Metang certainly seemed strong, if not a little bit out there.

Miharu's mind was racing as she matched up types of moves, realizing pretty quickly that Starrie's Psychic and Ice Beam attacks wouldn't be effective against Tingle. That really left the Water/Psychic-type with its Thunderbolt and Water-type moves, though the latter would definitely come in handy if they were to face a Steelix. "Bubblebeam, again," she called. Starrie's core sparkled with a hint of blue and another stream of bubbles were fired, this one more condensed. Tingle swiped a claw in front of it, and all the bubbles burst as it send off a powerful Confusion. She wasn't sure what the Metang had been up to at her Aunt and Uncle's ranch, but it certainly seemed calmer and more focused than before. Then again, perhaps it was able to sense the seriousness of their upcoming gym battle.

”Candle, get back over here,” Leon said, taking a step towards it. The Litwick giggled and moved back towards Leon, circling the boy’s head before taking to floating around his body as his attention returned to Muuma and the crying Pokémon. He looked back just in time to see the big black protrusion from the thing’s head lash up and chomp down on Muuma, who screamed angrily in surprise, ripping herself away from those weird jaws and shooting back towards her trainer. She was still facing her new enemy—that attack had hurt a lot, and she was not going to let it get away with that stunt. It raised its head from its hands and smiled up at her, hair-jaw thing flipping back behind her.

”Psybeam, Muuma,” Leon said as he pulled out his new PokéDex. He flipped it open and scanned their opponent now that he, well, could, and watched as a whole page of information was displayed. Mawile. Steel-type. He definitely would not have guessed that from its looks. It made him completely second-guess the typings he’d thought his new candle Pokémon might be. He scrolled down the page to its attacks. Fake Tears was right near the top of the list, which explained the crying from earlier. It certainly fit its classification as the Deceiver Pokémon well. He scrolled a little more as Muuma’s eyes began to glow, shortly followed by the blast of a multi-coloured beam directly at the Mawile. It hit dead on, and the Deceiver Pokémon braced itself, sliding back as the beam pushed it.

Leon was very pleased with this device. He knew just about everything there was to know about this Pokémon. His didn’t let it distract him too much, though, watching as the Mawile began preparing itself for its next attack. Muuma bobbed unhappily. Her attack had been pretty strong, but the Mawile didn’t seem to phased by it. Leon wasn’t too worried, however; it may be strong against most (if not all) of Muuma’s attacks, but she still had a pretty big level advantage over it. As long as it didn’t keep using/landing Bites, they would be fine.

Jett’s explanation made more sense than Scarlet’s nonexistent idea of what the hell was going on. The question of whether or not Jasper got one popped up, and Scarlet nodded vigorously. “If something gave someone like me something to take care of, for some reason I’ll probably never understand, I’m sure a guy as cool s him to pokemon’ll get one too, y’know? … Where’s he off to, anyway?

“Eeeesh,” Scarlet said with the slightest grin at the whatever-Viy-was after it averted its chilly soul murdering stare. Even Terumi didn’t seem to hate him that much. “Sure it’s not part ice-type too?”

At least Sledge was utterly oblivious to Viy’s utter dislike of them. Hell, he didn’t even know what it was, other than the fact that it came from the same place he did. Sledge simply stayed at Scarlet’s heels, taking silent note of random ‘gasp!’s and ‘what are those!?’s more of those people muttered as the loud, excitable human and his quieter, calmer friend approached a sort of super structure, behind which a softer voice with a completely different pitch let out another ‘gasp.’ Sledge decided humans did that a lot.

Scarlet nodded to the nurse. “I know, right? Same thought!” He handed the woman Cindy’s pokeball, looking back over at Jett. “… Man, I’m actually really hungry. I can so hit the cafeteria. And I can finally hear what you were up to while I was failing at being awesome! Unless you guys grabbed somethin’ already. I was out there way longer ‘n I expected to be. Sorry ‘bout that.”

Scarlet took the pokeball he received and clipped it on his belt, decided maybe it’d be better to surprise Cindy with a hot meal as soon as she got released. “Hm? … Man, you’re right,” Scarlet noted. He eventually had to assign Cindy a pokeball of her own. It made sense that the same would have to be done for Viy and Sledge. Scarlet looked down at the Roggenrola, smiling broadly before he issued his official invitation. Sledge, would you like the absolute honor of being part of my official team with which I’m going to eventually trounce all the Pokemon Leagues?”

Sledge faced Scarlet silently again, weighing words he didn’t fully understand. He could hear the bravado in his human’s voice. Confidence. An assured aura. He wasn’t sure what a Pokemon League was, but something inside him told him that he was bonded with The Loud One. He answered with a gravelly click, gently bumping against Scarlet’s leg.

“Awwwesome.”
