The small girl was very tired now. And with small children, tiredness created grouchiness, and thats exactly what Pilot was! "I want to go and see my sheep," the small girl whimpered as she wrapped her arms around Gray's neck. it was quite obvious that she was very tired.

"No, I don't..." Sethrian looked down a the heaping plate Kamil had shoved into his hands. He sighed, and shook his head. "Thank you." Right then. "If you continue to eat as much as you do, you will be closer to the size of a whale when you return home," he remarked. "I hope you also intend to keep up a strict exercise regimen to ensure you stay slim, Kamil."

He turned and held the plate to Renivere. "Is there anything here you would like? Since it seems he managed to fit at least one of everything...Apparently Kamil and Veith had a bet over which of them could get a date first. But sadly, neither of them did." Heh. But he had. He couldn't help but feel just a little smug. "I said nothing until now but I half expected Veith to ask Kasie..."

Angela took Kai's hand and led him out to the dance floor. What was with all the bloody tall people in this place anyway?

"That sounds unfortunate," Angela said. She turned to face him, pulling him close enough she could put his hand on her waist, and hers on his shoulder. She took his other hand in hers. "Just try to follow my lead. Waltzing is really very easy, so as long as you follow me, we'll be fine." She started leading him in the dance as she continued to speak.

"And it's silly to be afraid of Humans just because you've never seen them. It isn't as if they're going to eat you. I can assure you there are no cannibals here at Rosentale." Probably. "Honestly, most of the Humans I know are very reasonable people. Some of the other races we have lurking about are somewhat less reasonable. All the angels seem perpetually pissed off for absolutely no reason, for example. And the vampires all sort of exude this sort of...sad loneliness mixed with a bit of angst." She frowned and looked up at him. "Actually...you wouldn't happen to be a vampire would you?"

If you look like a pirate,
then speak like a gentleman...




"Okay, come on then, Shorty," Gray said. He pulled his coat off (quite a feat while holding onto her) and managed to wrap it around her as he headed for the door.

He was relieved that she seemed tired already. It would probably be a quick trip to the stable, then the short jaunt to the wagon--which was sitting right there anyway and she would be out like a light.

Assuming she didn't fall asleep in his arms before they even got there. He smiled slightly as he left the ball and exited into the cool night air.

Well, it was unfortunate he'd spent the Valentines without even a hint of romance--not even a kiss from anyone--but he supposed it wasn't...too bad.

He started down the steps and toward the stable.

[EXIT to the stable/wagon type area]

"You see! That is exactly what I mean," Angela said, releasing his hand long enough to flick his nose. She took his hand again and kept dancing. "All of you seem so depressed over the fact that you're vampires. You're not the only one. As it happens, I'm good friends with two others--one of whom is a professor here that I respect a great deal. And the other of whom is an exceptionally kind person. Really. Stop moping about it. It isn't as if you chose to be a vampire, or there's some horrible thing about being a vampire."

"You are what you are. So honestly. Lighten up a little. This is supposed to be an evening of fun so you aren't allowed to frown. Sorry." She smiled up at him, hoping he'd at least cheer up a little.
